Narrow aisle blocked for 5 minutes by inventory takers, who ignored me, as I motioned seeking room. When asked for an item, no answer. I pointed out, you owe me a yes or no. He walked away silently.

I’ve been to India Bazaar in Chantilly a few times now, and overall, it’s been a consistently good experience.
The store offers an impressive variety of Indian groceries, spices, snacks, and fresh produce, and authentic Indian ingredients. Whether it’s specialty flours, a wide range of lentils, or unique spice blends, I can usually find everything I need here.
One thing I appreciate about India Bazaar is their selection of fresh vegetables. They also have a great variety of frozen foods, including samosas, parathas, and ready-to-eat curries, which are super convenient for busy days. Their snack section is worth exploring too—brands like Haldiram’s and Bikaji dominate the shelves with tasty treats like bhujia, chakli, and mathri.
The spice aisle is a highlight, offering everything from garam masala and chaat masala to harder-to-find regional blends. I also like that they carry a good selection of rice and flour, including Basmati rice in bulk and specialty flours like atta and besan.
Their dairy section is another plus point, with staples like paneer, ghee, and yogurt always available. They even have a decent variety of sweets like gulab jamun and rasgulla, perfect for satisfying cravings or celebrating special occasions.
However, the store does have a few downsides. The aisles are quite narrow, and during peak hours, it can get pretty crowded, making navigation a bit challenging. Parking can also be tricky on weekends when the store gets busy. Additionally, while most staff members are friendly and helpful, there have been times when finding someone to assist took longer than expected.
That said, the overall shopping experience outweighs these minor inconveniences. The pricing is generally reasonable, and they often have deals on staple items like rice, lentils, and frozen goods. Plus, the convenience of finding so many authentic Indian products under one roof makes this store a good place to shop.
If you’re looking for a reliable place to stock up on Indian groceries, India Bazaar is definitely worth a visit.

They carry a wide variety of Indian groceries, the shelves are always stocked. Store and aisles are clean. Staff is pretty helpful, if you cannot find something, talk to Antony, he has been working on this place for more than fifteen years, during which the owners have changed three times. Their prices are reasonable.

I don’t wanna write a bad review. But I just wanna let you know that I ordered a vijayawada boneless biryani. But I got different one and It doesn’t taste fresh…. I know the taste difference cause I regularly buy that.. Fairfax India Bazar has the best biryani but not for chantilly…

I wanted to try some different food, so I went in and looked around. I met some really nice people, very polite and friendly. Bought some items to take home and cook. Pretty cool!

Very poor service. First I bought thumbs up and they sold thums up, which is not real. Then I bought PG tips also not original. When I went to return the counter lady says she can’t return it’s open. When I said how else one will know and her rude answer comes - you can read. Never going there again.

Not sure if the management has changed but the quality has dropped considerably. We've been going there for several years because of the quality and that it was one of the few grocery stores that was a 100% vegetarian. Recently they introduced a meat shop. The vegetables are never fresh. Recently got dhokla and was told it was fresh but came home and it was sticky under the dhokla. Will not be shopping here anymore.
