I’ve never left a negative review before, but I feel it’s important to share my experience. The manager at this storage facility was extremely unprofessional. Instead of helping resolve a simple issue, he raised his voice and spoke to me in a rude, sarcastic way. Every interaction I’ve had with him has been dismissive, eye rolling, talking down, and treating me as if I were a child.
During my most recent visit, the situation escalated to the point where I left shaking out of fear. No customer should ever be screamed at or made to feel that way. This is not the kind of service anyone expects when they are paying for storage.
I hope management takes steps to address this behavior, because paying customers deserve to be treated with respect.

I should have moved out sooner. NO security, the gate has been broken for years, so anyone can come and go as they please, and there is no staff to speak directly with. They continue to raise prices even though the online price is lower. They do not deserve my money.

I’m just tired of their BS it’s not safe the gate has been broken for a year anyone can enter and no security the office on the property shut down and moved to sterling. I’ve been trying to turn in the keys no one has been answering the call it says outside business hrs or on the other line. I’ve left 100 voicemails no one has gotten back to me the unit price increases every time without notice. Thank God I trashed everything in my unit and threw the keys in their drop box. 🤦🏻♀️

No Management On-Site, Security gate has been broken and removed over a year. They triple your rate and don't return calls to allow you to cancel your unit. Rent at your own risk and watch mail for post cards increasing your rates every six months. current rate is almost double the highest amount showing as a rate online without any discounts for the same size. Example 10x10 highest amount is $190 for ground floor and upper units are cheaper but my new rate upper floor is over $230.
UPDATE: Found alternate location that manages this location. Was told corporate will raise rates every six month no matter if it exceeds current rates. They want you to over pay or rent new spot with additional admin fees. Would not recommend this company.

Worse than terrible customer service. It has been impossible to get the access code to our newly assigned storage unit at the Mosby property in Chantilly VA. It was left blank on the introduction letter (see pic 1) sent after signing the contract. There is no staff on site as the office has been abandoned and there is a hand written note saying that you need to go to another satellite location for service. The main gate is broken and open 24-7 so that code is useless. I’ve called 3 times to the number on the contract only to be routed to a call center in India that says that I have to resolve the issue with the local office, and patched me through only to wind up in voice mail. None of my messages have yet to be returned. I subsequently found out that the local office is closed on Sundays and Tuesdays, but that information was not in the contract nor introduction letter. I also have tried unsuccessfully to submit my proof of insurance to avoid the 40% up charge, but have yet to receive confirmation of receipt of my emails on that issue.
Update: Management asked me to reach out in response to this posting, so I did on 06/16/25, and guess what happened? NOTHING, NADA, ZILCH … still waiting for a response….
If I could assign a ZERO star, I would, but I’ll give 1 star to make this post and confirm that the storage unit actually exists. But beware of cheap, self storage as it means exactly what it says: you are on your own!
You will be charged for insurance, which effectively doubles the cheap introductory rate, even if you are already covered under your homeowner/renter/RV policy. The agent on the phone will promise that you will be reimbursed upon presentation of your insurance coverage to the site manager. The site manager will deny that. The site manager’s supervisor will also deny that and say that the sales agent shouldn’t have told you that there was a refund policy. Don’t bother calling as all calls to all their listed numbers go to an overseas call center who will refer you back to the site manager. So go in person, and don’t let them entrap you in their insurance scheme.

Deborah Harbaugh is Awesome. She was the only person at Self Storage Plus to respond to my inquiries. She listened patiently, she answered my questions, and she was very understanding of my concerns. She reviewed my file and helped me tremendously with the issue I was facing. She also followed up with me after the changes were implemented, with an update and to make sure that I was satisfied. Not only was I happy with her help and professionalism, most of all I was impressed with her responsiveness and her caring nature.

There's no light in the hall way where my unit, 2301 is. The place is very dark and raise danger concern. As a result, bi hardly go there even though there are some things I need from that storage on daily basis.
Light need to be restored asap

Here at 6:10am, facility is locked with no way to get inside even though the posted access hours are from 6am to 10pm. I had to drive over an hour round trip to get here so I’m pretty furious. Now I’m stuck with no idea when it will open, and this was the only time I could do this with regards to my work schedule. Staff is almost impossible to connect to, and there’s no emergency number to report that their building is closed when it’s not supposed to be. We’ll never use this company again.

I'm going straight to the point. This year alone, Self Storage Plus has increased the price twice, and the second time without any warning. Before March of this year I was paying $197 for my unit, in March of 2024 they increased the. price to $242, and now in October without warning they increased the price of the same unit to $307! This is a price increase of 55.08%! Are you kidding me? I'm sure this has nothing to do with inflation, and more to do with predatory business practices. And to put the icing on the cake, a lot of elevators aren't working, and some of the doors don't open either. And did I mention that there's no bathroom on the premisses? I will report Self Storage Plus to the BBB.
