Tried to call and speak with the last person I knew when I stayed there and the person who answered the phone "Will?" was incredibly rude. So much so that I just hung up. Not worth it being treated like that. Would not recommend this place if they have people like that working there.

Unfortunately, it pains me to be writing this review. But after reaching out directly through the front desk and email, I have yet to receive a call from management . I've stayed here over the last four years as my daughter attended school here. It always had a charming, warm, family atmosphere. On my final stay here on graduation weekend where the room charges were excessive, which is somewhat understandable. Service conditions have been less than stellar. We're here on graduation weekend. Unable to get bottled water several times. We do prefer to refill the glass carafe, However, there are times where you cannot use glass , by the pool or to go etc. The graduation festivities start before 8 am on Saturday, and your café doesn't open until 830 and lobby bar which was supposed to be open for coffee wasn't available at all in the am during anytime during our stay. My AC is not working in the room for a second consecutive day. It was reset and now not working again and it's 77° in my room. I've asked for refill the soap in my room for two consecutive days. All I hear is excuses. They were understaffed on a busy weekend, with basically no hospitality or service Some of the staff was extremely rude .

Oakhurst Inn was a special place to stay on my birthday and it has overwhelmingly attentive front desk and valet service. I spent my birthday here and it was a last minute plan after finding out my dog has a terminal illness. The staff were so kind and helpful. My trip to Charlottesville will be remembered for many reasons. It will be a fond memory and keepsake of this trip with my dog during this time in her life. Thank you, Oakhurst Inn for providing this service and making things so seamless. If you travel with pets, Oakhurst Inn offers select rooms. Call in advance to make sure one is available. They don't have a refrigerator in the room so plan ahead if you have any food or items that are perishable. Enjoy your stay with your furry friend.

I visited Oakhurst Inn tonight (10/31) for Gin & Jazz and while the atmosphere was promising, the rude bartender ruined the mood of the night. When I first arrived I asked if I may see a menu (in an attempt to decide what I'd like) and the bartender responded "A menu?!" as if it were the most ridiculous request on the planet. I was a bit confused as to why the request seemed to anger him and after a bit more awkward exchanges (including him asking if we "just wandered in from the street"), I decided to just get an Old Fashioned. When he brought the drinks, I asked for water and he never brought that either. The jazz was delightful, the Old Fashioned was mediocre, and I felt unwelcome my entire visit. I don't plan on returning.

Very disappointed with my stay. It's way overpriced for what they have to offer. The room was down in the basement and very small and musty. The staff wasn't helpful with directions around the neighborhood. Wouldn't recommend staying here.

I dunno man, this place is kind of a dump. The carpets are faded, filthy, and covered in stains. The room has a weird smell and there was long hair on the walls of my shower when I arrived. Everything in the room is sorta janky. The bathroom is nice but why is there an ottoman in front of the toilet? They also wouldn't let me park my car (with handicapped tags) in the handicapped spot in front of my building because "we have to collect everyone's keys" which is super weird. We paid a premium over chains because we expected a boutique experience, but the most boring chains in town offer a nicer experience

We were very disappointed with our 2nite stay. While the staff was very friendly that was the only good news. Our room was sparsely furnished and did not even have a closet, nor a clock nor a radio. There was a hot water pot but no coffee or tea to go with it. When we asked about coffee we were told they would give us a pack of instant coffee. No coffee any where in the inn in the morning though we were told there was complimentary coffee in the mornings. There was not. The walls were very thin so much so we could hear the people talking in the next room. The view from our room was over the parking lot and some paint cans, tarps, a ladder and construction items. There was no maid service but then later we were told you had to specifically ask for it. That would have been fine but no One told us that. Finally, we had one cocktail and one glass of wine at the bar which cost $33!! No conditioner in the shower container. Do not stay here!!!

We had a completely magical stay at the Oakhurst. The Inn has a vintage chic vibe and the staff were kind and helpful. Our room also had the most beautiful bathroom I've ever seen in my life. I can't recommend the Inn highly enough!

This is a charming boutique hotel with a huge "but". We were told the owner of the inn also owns the college apartments in front of the houses where our rooms are. The two don't mix well. This is the second time since 11 PM that I've been awakened by the young voices just outside my room on this summer night. Maybe winter would be quieter but I won't be back to see. The hotel staff, especially Jess, were nice but they can't fix the noise. I've been awake nearly an hour now with the noise. There was just a loud outburst of screams and laughter which apparently awoke the person above me because I heard him get up. When I'm paying this much for a hotel room I expect to be able to sleep. Edit: In the morning as we checked out I reported the lack of sleep. Jake apologized and asked how he could make me feel better. He removed that night's charge and made us coffee. The cafe and the lobby don't serve coffee until 8 on weekends.

My mom & I were planning on going to Charlottesville for a night and were sooo lucky to have stumbled upon Oakhurst Inn online! I was teetering between here and the Omni & I am so glad we chose here. FYI- it does default to a two night stay when booking online. I was able to call and ask and they did allow us to come for 1 night on the weekend. We booked the queen suite and were actually upgraded to the king suite with the beautiful soaking tub! The price was steep, but it was last minute so it was understandable. Jacob and Abby were great! They were so helpful in showing us around. The property is very unique and adds to the experience. Jacob told us the buildings used to be fraternity houses. The buildings are laid out in a circle with ample parking. We stayed in the main building that houses the "lobby" and the bar. The buildings are old with creaky floors, but other than that, the updates are phenomenal. The rooms are beautiful with small touches that really add to the experience. They have ginger cookies at the desk with really nice packaging that you can take on your way in. They also have bottled water available. The bed was extremely comfortable. The decorum in the common areas is so cute- I loved the books everywhere. The heated pool was open and beautiful, but too chilly to go in. We ventured downtown- my one recommendation would be not to ride the trolley- we were easily able to take it downtown, but it did not return. We had to uber back. That is to no fault of the inn. We had breakfast at the cafe in the morning and it was delicious. I love this property and had a lovely experience. Even though it was expensive, it was well worth it! Thank you Oakhurst Inn!

Fabulous, stylish, comfortable, historic hotel that just happens to be my favorite 1920s era of architecture. Super friendly and helpful staff. Very clean. We had a corner king with a huge fancy bathroom! Very friendly and beautiful neighborhood. I feel lucky I found it. Definitely will return ASAP!

All frills, no thrills! My partner and I wanted to get away for Valentines Day weekend, so we decided to book a room at the Oakhurst Inn. We assumed the stay would be luxurious and worth the price (after all, the Inn is more expensive than most other lodging facilities in the area). Unfortunately, what they woo you in fancy gimmicks, like champagne waiting at check-in, doesn't measure up to the comfort of a hotel like the Graduate or an Airbnb. The Oakhurst Inn comprises of different satellite locations on a singular property, and we booked a room at the Café. This made check-in and parking confusing, but we finally figured out the location after speaking to the front desk - and drinking our beloved champagne. Related to this point (re location), do note that if you're staying in the café, you need to walk to the main office to access the bar (these amenities are not within the same building). This also means that there is no immediate access to water, food service, etc. In 30-40 degree weather? Kind of a bummer. Speaking of which, the room is freezing! You can tell there isn't much insulation in the bathroom, which faces the outdoor patio behind the café. Everything is cold to the touch and the bathroom windows are filthy. The room could really use a deep clean, especially during COVID. There are some tasteful details, like the coffee station (although there is no tea, despite hosting a tea bag coaster). You could tell there was no effort to restock the sugar or the shampoo (nearly empty). The alarm clock was not working, but was surely gosh darn cute, sitting above the bed. I found the artwork quirky, but fun. The bed was a dream - spacious, breathable fabric and bedding, and lots of pillows with adjustable night-side tables that pull down from the frame (and/or can be stowed away). This makes for convenient storage. I would like to note that the phone in the room did not work. We tried to call the front desk, but the phone kept ringing (even after we dialled the phone). No worries, we have wifi for our cell phones! Accessibility: We climbed a steep staircase to our room; at the top, the stairs curled in on an angle and I found them incredibly awkward and difficult to navigate. I would not recommend this stay for someone with limited mobility and/or disabilities. Fortunately, my partner and I are both young and agile, but I assume some people staying here might find the situation uncomfortable. All in all, there are some exciting amenities and features, like a huge bed and plenty of cable television. However, I was not impressed with the stay. The food is overpriced, the staff is disorganized (we tried ordering room service in the morning, only to be placed on hold and forgotten about; the number to the café was incorrect and forwarded us to the main office), the location is subpar, and the price is simply not worth the (supposed) elegance. Sorry, but better luck next time!

The Oakhurst Inn is well maintained and has updated, clean rooms. The front desk was extremely helpful and responsive throughout our stay. The only downside is that the building has very thin walls and we had people staying next to us who we heard talking, closing doors and walking around all through the night.

After advertising this stay to family from out of town, I did not receive the feedback I expected. This is definitely not the place to bring family or friends. The welcoming service was not impressive, and the decor was very subpar. As a Charlottesville native, I have heard great things, but this is not accurate. Definitely not the bang for your buck. There are plenty of other options in Charlottesville and the surrounding areas that are beautifully decorated and more impressive for a better price.

We had a wonderful stay at the Oakhurst Inn! We came to check out virginia wine country, and loved the vineyards, but were just as impressed by all the very nice touches this hotel had to offer. From a mini french press in our room with complimentary starbucks coffee, to the smoothie bar in the morning, to the gin-and-jazz hour, to the delicious ginger cookies every evening, we felt truly taken care of during the stay. We were also pleasantly surprised to see that the hotel has two peloton bikes! I booked a time to use the bike in the Oak Room, also had plenty of cleaning supplies/gloves so I could make sure the bike was safe during COVID times. Would definitely recommend this inn to anyone looking for a vineyard getaway or even just a trip to UVA!
