“Speaking of a good fit, we always have a five star experience whenever we visit the Charlottesville Orvis location. Jake the store manager is our go to guy when shopping for our son, or myself. My wife and I know that he can show us exactly what we need for the occasion. Our most recent visit we needed to find something for our son's birthday and a few coordinating items to put aside for Christmas. Jake wears the brand well and is very knowledgeable. He has the perfect personality and you can tell he loves what he does. Now enough about Jake, let's talk about his amazing staff which is a great reflection of the excellent customer service and assistance you will receive in case Jake is out on the fly! There is always a great variety in store to choose from, as well as, free shipping in case you need to order your item. Just in case you just aren't sure what to choose, they have gift cards too.”

“Iconic gear with fashion that's finally caught up. Clothing that seems a level above the REI brand in quality and can hang with more mainstream outdoor gear companies. Ultralight is not their thing, but no worries. I'd like to see more affordable options in the future as outdoor provisions continue to move into the middle class price range which inevitably excludes lower income families.”

“First of all i wanna start this review by saying most of these “PEOPLE” that write these reviews. Clearly don’t have a clue on how they act. Ive seen so many customers over and over again treat the works as if they weren’t people to. They are not slaves, yes they have a job. So do you treat them with respect, or don’t go complaining about how they treat you the same way you are treating them. They are amazing people, who work hard and TRY to keep the store clean. If you Wonder WHY the store is unorganized, go look at a mirror and ask it again. I WAS THERE when that happened and honestly that is unexpected that she wrote how the manager walked away, but not the reason. TRACY decided to ask the manager if she was even american because of the accent she had. Racist much? Clearly shes as smart as she looks. “Yggi was beyond amazing. I needed sizes that were not readily available but she found one in stock in another store and ensured that I’d have it in time for Christmas. Her level of customer service was far and above what I typically experience. I’ll definitely shop here again, and I hope Yggi is there! The clothes are fantastic but the customer service is what won me over. Thank you!”

“This is a cute boutique and I wish we had more shops like it on the Corner. They primarily carry women's clothing but also have fun trinkets and decor in stock. A lot of their items are UVa/Charlottesville themed -- make great gifts for friends! Some of their items can be a bit pricey, but they do have great sales and a wide selection -- I have come in for formal dresses and for oversized tees. I have found the staff very friendly in my experiences here! When I ask questions they are quick to help, and they always say something nice when you leave the dressing rooms in a new outfit. There are finches in the store like other reviews have said, but I think to say that that is unethical is a misconception. The birds have a cage large enough for them to move and fly about in, it is stocked with toys and food. I have seen staff (maybe the owner) interact with the birds while I am shopping, so they are given attention. I have seen no signs of aggression in my many, MANY moments watching the birds while friends browse the store, meaning they are likely well socialized. Overall I think this is a cute place to stop, especially for students already near the Corner.”

“Nice selection clouded by too tight of a size run for women.4 stars for a lovely and intentional curation of upscale fashion for men and women in Cville - this store fills a gap in the market. Understanding that it is an upscale boutique, the prices are on par for that, and the items carried are high quality. That said, it's incredibly frustrating - as a 5'9" average/athletic build person who generally wears a size M and 29 in jeans (30 if they are lower stretch to accommodate my quads) - that I cannot buy jeans here. I have bought dresses and tops/sweaters but have honestly stopped going in because the size runs keep shrinking for not only jeans but dresses too, and I leave feeling not awesome about myself.I have worked in and managed two upscale women's boutiques in Charlottesville, so I understand their buying process of limited size runs based on your customer base, but it's wild that most styles here don't go above a size 28, unless they run small, and then the 29 is useless anyway. I'm consistently a 29 in Mother, Citizens, AG, Paige, R13, and other similar brands, and a traditionally straight-sized figure, so it's just frustrating.That said, if you are petite, and naturally thin-framed, you'll find nice quality pieces that will last a while, but I don't know that I will be stopping in anymore. :(”

“The staff are always very friendly! I had to make a return for a pair of jeans that were a size too small and Jacob was really helpful. When he couldn't find my size in store he went ahead and shipped them to my apartment for no extra fee. I'm not a huge shopper, but I make an exception for Madewell not only because their clothes are my fav but also because the staff are so nice :)”
