Community Bikes is a nonprofit bicycle shop in Charlottesville. It is a wonderful place with great, awesome, and friendly staff who are always willing to help and give the best advice. The shop promotes cycling and recycles bicycles. It offers free bikes to kids through a kids program, including free helmets, and also takes used bikes. It operates on suggested donations. This organization is a big force for good in the community, gives back, and makes cycling accessible. People find treasures there and appreciate the knowledgeable and nice people.

Community Bikes taught my kids about their bicycles, and gave us an affordable way to make sure they could not only donate bikes but trade them in for bigger sizes as they grew up.
Just recently, I found a bike of my own there, and left feeling like it was a holiday. Community Bikes truly lives up to its name!
