I had an exceptional experience with Creative Framing in Charlottesville. They were incredibly helpful with budgeting and offered fantastic guidance on assembling my frames. They ensured I received all the necessary materials promptly, which I greatly appreciated. A special shoutout to Joanna for letting me in at closing time to pick up d-rings - she and Eli are the best!

Such a cute and well- stocked art store! I prefer to see the colors in person rather than ordering online. Staff very helpful! Convenient location.

Good selection of quality and professional art supplies. (And they frame.) So nice to know they have most of what I seek, near by! Driving up to DC (or further) to check out materials has been a bit of a drag. This shop's location has exactly what I seek.

Nice that they could help an armature like me find the supplies they needed for their drawing 101 class.

It's expensive, but for professional and traditional art supplies, your only options in Charlottesville are: 1. The Art Box (expensive, retail prices. Staff is composed of artists who have tried the art supplies.) 2. Michael's (more crafts, one-two aisles for art supplies, and no helpful artist with their own experiences) 3. AC Moore (more like Michaels) 4. Online (again, no one to answer questions, no way to touch and test supplies but can be less expensive, takes more time to get the art supplies). I have explored all the options. I found Michaels has the best selection of art cases in the bead aisle. There is a plastic two-sided container with handles which opens flat to see all the paints that I love. The paint brush selection, though, is pitiful. AC Moore was more crowded and uninspiring in materials. Although I love dickblick.com, there is a minimum order and delay in getting supplies. There is no one to ask. I had a special mod podge project to collage some porous houseplant pots, and then discovered that the mod podge doesn't protect the collage from water damage. Well, I wanted some fine artists supplies: unisom and schminke pastels, dark and light, winsor and newton or Williamsburg fine artists grade oil paint, workable fixative, and better paintbrushes. It cost too much, but the salesperson was able to answer my questions in detail and direct me to the correct items. Worth every penny.
