Didn't have the suv type we reserved. Tried to upsell. Then gave us a truck. Might have been his personal vehicle but it worked out.

Web site is horrible. Couldn't even select pick up and drop off dates. Didn't bother renting from them.

Employee arrived late to work so the location was not open yet when we arrived after the posted opening time. Employee was rude, said he did not have to give us a car and initially refused because he didn’t like our attitude. Worst rental car counter experience I have had.

Great little airport with easy as pie car rental service. I got a brand new car, that was better than the one I paid for. Smooth rental experience, took a few minutes, no unnecessary questions. Compare this to SIXT at DCA airport in DC, lines are so long and they take 20-30 minutes to complete your rental process, have you sign and acknowledge in 4-5 places.

Terrible Experience with Dollar Rental Corporate. We had a 5pm reservation but called to confirm we could pick up the car at 10:45pm due to a late arrival. Corporate assured us this was fine as the reservation lasts 48 hours. They told us they “left a note on our reservation” about our late arrival and that someone at the rental counter would see the note. Additionally we called the airport desk(A competitor car rental agency) to hand deliver an additional note about our late arrival and flight details. There was nothing else we could do.
When we arrived, the counter staff said there were no cars and our reservation had been canceled. The attendant said there was no notes, and that corporate had straight up lied to us. Corporate told us that if we arrived too late and the counter was closed, we could pick up the car the next morning. However, the counter staff laughed at this information, as it was also untrue.
Despite paying $277 upfront(including all taxes), we were left stranded with no refund, no car. This feels like a complete scam.
I’m outraged by the lack of communication and poor service. I’m escalating this to every support channel I can find.

horrible customer service, had to wait in airport for over 2 hours on a car that was supposed to be available 30 minutes before our flight landed. Manager would not upgrade or give any money back for this incident. Do not suggest using this company

Worst rental experience ever. Vehicle had less than 1/2 tank of fuel. Picked up vehicle late at night and drive 15 miles and did not realize until next morning. Called immediately, was told to take pictures of level and odometer. Showed agent when returning, was told no problem. I immediately received a larger bill than expected. Have had to call and email multiple times.I am still fighting for my fuel charge refund. I returned the vehicle with more fuel than when I left the facility. Lesson to be learned. check your fuel level and if it's not full, return car immediately or plan on spending hours of your time fighting to try to get it back.

I dont really like to bash a company for my service, I would rather have a one on one with someone in authority. However, Dollar Rental makes it almost impossible to do that. I rented 2 vehicles last month, one on March 29th and again on March 10th of this year. The customer service was so unprofessional and I thought that was unnecessary. More than that, they did not give me my deposit back from either of the rentals (rental records #520613693 and #424207070). I returned the vehicles on time without a blemish on either of then, so why am I not due my deposits? After trying to reach someone even to this date, I have not been able to do so. To top it off, they took $368.00 out of my account which my bank is investigating at this point. In these uncertain times, why would they try to keep my money? I gave them honest business and in return I got robbed. To make matters worse, the Charlottesville location accused me of stealing their vehicle because they couldn't find it for some reason. I did not understand that, I returned it with the keys. A police officer who worked at the airport had to assist me in paying for my vehicle which I left on their lot while I traveled. He knew I returned their car. I am a Correctional Officer and therefore I do not steal vehicles. The whole experience was so stressful and there was no one for me to talk to about it. My significant other was an L1 at Hertz for years and even he could not explain why they conducting business this way.

Very disappointed in the lack of customer service we received from the front desk lady. She was incredibly rude and had no interest in helping us rent a car that our 2 car seats could safely fit into. After the attitude we received from her we decided it was best to cancel our reservation with Dollar and go with Enterprise, they were actually capable of finding a car that fits car seats. I'm not sure who manages this location but they should reconsider having such disrespectful staff on their team. Between her attitude and lack of self care she is clearly not cut out for customer service.

It was pretty good, we used it to tour the Shenandoah Valley. The car drove well and it was spacious, and had good legroom. My only complaint is that the car we received had a weird smell. I had to spray some air freshener to remove it.
