Ugh I'd be lying if I said it was a great experience but overall it was fine if you need a place to sleep and don't plant to be in the room much. Carpet and floors are gross and old and sticky, the AC was blasting and couldn't be turned off so maintenance had to come but they literally just shut it off and no one told us how to fix. So I asked the manager and he basically said some of the units just don't work.... They offered to come program the temperature but that didn't really help our situation so we just put up with no AC (luckily a cool weekend) the bar upstairs is just ok, over priced and don't expect any table service, we sat at table for ten minutes before having to get up and ask for menus/ place our order at the bar and then go back up to get the drinks. Wouldn't be an issue if the bartender had said anything but she just ignored us, and they weren't busy which felt extra rude. Matcha downstairs in the coffee shop is very bitter (either low quality or not prepared well) and it stinks to not have free hotel coffee available. They could use a bit of a refresher and probably wouldn't recommend anyone stay unless as I mentioned, you don't plan to be here much in which case the beds were decent. Also our "view" was this awful machine and concrete

We stayed here on a long trip because the hotel looked fun and interesting…and it was! The roof-top bar is great and there’s a terrace on the second floor off their game room too. We had an issue with our room tv but the front desk compensated us. The cafe made a really good mocha for my wife and I in the morning. I also had an issue with texting valet to notify them I was ready for my car but once we reached the lobby I spoke with an attendant and he pulled it right up. All-in-all a pleasant experience and I would stay here again. Rest assured that any issues you have will be addressed and corrected by helpful and friendly staff.

Was a truly great establishment. Provides an easy way to access UVA and the best parts of Charlottesville.

I was concerned about staying here after reading some of the reviews, but after spending a wonderful weekend here I am confused by those reviews. The rooms were spacious, linens clean, enjoyed both the roof top bar as well as the coffee bar in lobby. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The building itself has been on the corner a long time but the hotel has done a nice job of keeping up with renovations.

It was Like walking into an Anthropologie store with a traditional/preppy vibe. Custom design features are amazing like the football motif hidden in the carpet for instance.

Called last minute at 2:30 pm because I made a mistake when booking a hotel in Charlottesville. We needed a room close to the UVA medical center but booked something miles from this area. When I called, Wendy graciously helped me get my room booked for the same day for a 2 day stay. When we checked in at 4:00 pm, Wendy left a goodie bag for my daughter with a personal note wishing her well for her medical procedure in the morning. It was such a heart felt, sweet gesture. Our room was exactly what we needed. Extremely close to the UVA hospital. Close walking to plenty of amenities. Easy parking in their parking garage. Super happy with our stay!

Beware of this establishment; false advertising on their website makes it look cool and hip but it's like one of those paintings that looks great from far away and then complete trash close up. We had a family emergency and I panic booked this hotel in minutes while at the UVA hospital without looking too deeply into reviews and it made a terrible night even worse. When we arrived it took several minutes for the front desk worker to acknowledge us and she did not make eye contact a single time during the process or hardly spoke except to take my ID. She did not state the room number or floor or anything, just handed us the keys. Whatever, poor customer service, but not anything to write home about. Also note that you will pay at least $20 for parking each night, which is a bit outrageous for this area.In our room, I first noted that the shower was pretty dirty and had tons of loose hairs from the last occupant. I opted to wipe this down myself and not tell my partner because of the situation we were in. He gets in bed and I flip the comforter over and there are large stains in the middle of the sheets. I go down to the front desk and request new sheets (nothing grosses me out more than staying somewhere on visibly used and stained sheets). She states it will take 10-15minutes for the manager to come up. Around 25 we call down as it's now almost midnight and the front desk worker states she is coming up now. She arrives around 30+ minutes and helps to strip the bed. As we are making the bed with her I notice that the new sheets are also stained. We have had a very emotional night and it's so late I am just like whatever. She also gives us a threadbare blanket with a large hole in it.You know how in some hotels you don't want to take your socks off? This is a wear your socks, full pants and long sleeve shirts establishment. Wrapped up like a burrito in the new comforter with no cover and barely got any sleep trying not to make skin contact with the sheets. Pillow cases also had stains on them. Unable to access an outlet from one side of the bed.In the morning, we noted that the shower walls and shampoo bottles were also dirty. Our faucet handle was missing the top and the faucet was not even screwed in properly. Felt dirtier after taking the shower than prior. That morning, I received a text asking for a rating out of 10 and gave a low score. They offered to give me a call and I agreed. The man I spoke with was not apologetic and seemed unfazed/apathetic about our experience and was like "Oh the rating is just because of the cleanliness? We will try to do better next time. " Will there be a next time? Absolutely not. Did he seem surprised about the issues? Nope.Additionally, in the panic booking, Expedia changed the dates of the reservation from the dates I searched to a date several months in advance. I booked the hotel (this is my fault) and realized my mistake and just booked the correct night as well. I asked the desk if there was any way we could cancel this due to the situation and they stated it was on Expedia and made out that Expedia were the bad guys. Expedia said it was on the hotel to decide on the cancellation and had me message the hotel again. I sent them a long message explaining the situation to see if we could cancel or move the booking or anything and just received back: Refund Declined. This part of the situation was my fault but I really did not like that they were dishonest to my face about being able to refund the mistakenly booked night. If anyone wants a free night here, let me know since we can't cancel but we will definitely not be back and I suggest that you avoid it as well.

Grungy is a word that comes to mind. Expected it to be cleaner. The fire alarm in the middle of the night also wasn't fun... seems like from reviews here it happens frequently.

Very disappointed with checkin, room not ready for 3hours parking fees not. disclosed. Nothing further except no morning coffee pastry etc. Don’t plan to ever return as there are numerous other brands available very close by.

DO NOT STAY HERE. This was by far the worst hotel I had every stayed at. To begin, the room was completely dirty when we walked in (see pictures below of the hair on the counter, hair in the shower, boogers on the towels, & stained sheets), but after I complained and showed these photos they told us that housekeeping would come and take care of it. So we left and came back later that night to see that housekeeping NEVER came. They then gave us keys to a new room so we moved all of our stuff only to see that the room had empty cups and other people bottles in it. I came downstairs and then was finally given ‘clean’ sheets to then go and change my own bed because housekeeping had left for the day. We also had to wait 20 minutes in the lobby for them to bring us the sheets. I would have left to go to a different hotel but they were all sold out. This was $600 a night for what felt like a motel room that had never been cleaned. The staff was so rude and never apologized. AFTER all of this, I had to negotiate with many different people at the front desk about refunding my stay and they couldn’t have been more difficult. One of the staff members that I was showing pictures to stopped me and said that he doesn’t need to see the pictures to know how dirty the rooms are… I am very disappointed because I have stayed here many times and my parents stayed many times when I was a student at UVA but this hotel has gotten out of hand. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!

I had a premature baby at the UVA Medical Center who is being cared for in the NICU. The Graduate was on a list of hotels that the hospital gave me where we could stay and get a hospital rate and would also be within walking distance of the hospital. We stayed for 6 nights before having to check out due to the hotel being sold out because of a home football game. At checkout, we were expecting a total of $600-700 since the hospital rate was $99/night. But the total was nearly $2,000. After showing the paperwork from the hospital, the front desk clerk got the GM who told us that they don’t do that hospital rate. There’s clearly miscommunication between the hospital and the hotel, which is for them to figure out. But it shouldn’t fall on the shoulders of the family/customer to suffer because of that miscommunication. The GM charged us $152/night and had the audacity to tell me that the hotel would be at a loss even with that rate. With my baby in the NICU, and my 2-year old staying with me while we’re 2 hours away from home, the last thing I care about is the hotel being at a loss. The rate we were given by the hospital should’ve been honored and it should’ve been between the hotel and the hospital to fix the discrepancy.IF YOU HAVE A LOVED ONE IN THE HOSPITAL AND NEED TO STAY SOMEWHERE EXPECTING TO GET A HOSPITAL RATE, DO NOT STAY HERE.

The original room we had booked was not what was given to us. We had asked for a wheel in shower, but was given a tub. It took three room changes to finally have something we could use. The rooms are nice but can be hard to wheel around with the carpet being as thick as it is. There is a fairly large bump in front of the elevator as well. The biggest issue we had was with the parking. We booked the park it package that included self parking in the structure attached to the building. We were told that the valet could print us out a ticket in order to get in and out of the garage but that was not the case. The valet knew nothing about it. The front desk then told us to just call down and they would buzz us out. Also not the case. The first night we ended up paying to get out of the garage because we had waited for almost 20 minutes without anyone showing up. After that we had to physically find the valet every time to swipe us out. It's a great location, but has flaws.

An absolutely terrible hotel. Old, dated, under-staffed, dirty, you name it. I travel 60 days a year or more for pleasure, and have never been as disappointed as this hotel was. Bathrooms were not cleaned for two straight days, even after it was pointed out to staff. Wastebaskets in room never emptied, overflowing. I would not recommend this to my worst enemy. It is apparently owned by a real estate group that does not understand how bad the place really is. Bartenders subbing for coffee attendants who admitted they had no clue how to prepare coffees. If I sound harsh, it is because this hotel deserves a “0” recommendation. My travelling companions in another room experienced the same conditions.
