We had the best experience with the entire staff at MyEyeDr. Dr Harpin was able to make accommodations for our unique needs in such a timely manner. The entire staff went above and beyond to make sure our son was taken care of! He left with a huge smile on his face and I left with confidence knowing he was genuinely cared for. Could not recommend them enough! Will be switching all of our families future eye care needs to them.

The eye dr at Conner drive forest lakes was amazing. It was a great experience from the second I walked through the door until I left. Couldn’t have asked for nicer people or better service

Just don’t go here. There are some way better and cheaper places in Charlottesville.I was billed almost $450. Supposedly I was getting a deal on my contacts but then I found out there were extra charges for unnecessary parts of my eye exam. I talked to my brother and he too was hit with unmentioned additional charges when he went in. When I spoke with the location, they said there was nothing they could do and their techs always tell people they’re being charged (which is not true in my and my brother’s experience).I’ll be skipping the hidden charges in exams from now on and will be going to a different place for my eye care needs.

They were really nice and patient with me as I was frantic and scattered with my toddler in tow for my appointment. I hadnt understood the specifics of my insurance policy and ended up paying way more than I was expecting. When I called them after my appointment they were able to help me get a different contact brand on my prescription that met the insurance specifications and revise the bill to my insurance so that I wouldn't have to pay so much out of pocket, and they were working on that 45 min after closing which I so appreciate. It took such a load off of my shoulders to have that resolved so quickly.

I was a patient with Primary Eye care for about 20 years they were awesome never a problem. Now that they have become My Eye Dr I am tolerating a pair of glasses that I had to go back 5 times to correct . The staff was trying to help each time but were unsuccessful. Needless to say I am NOT happy.

This review is not about Dr. Harpin who was great. This is about the customer service after the eye appointment. I ordered a pair of glasses on August 14 and here it is October 4th and I still do not have my glasses. 2 1/2 weeks after I order I go to pick them up and its the wrong glasses. And it took me another 3 weeks to finally get someone to order the correct ones. How do you order the wrong ones in the first place when the glasses are placed in a bin with your information. I could have probably gone to Walmart or Sam's ordered the same glasses for probably less and gotten much better service. Do yourself a favor and don't get you glasses here

I've always had great experiences with the optometrists here but my visit today with Dr. Crouch was exceptional. He was very personable and was enthusiastic when it came to answering my questions. I look forward to next year's appointment with him.

Dr. Hanning is great. I've been to her twice and noted how extremely knowledgeable and professional she was. Prior to that, I saw at least three other doctors, the turnover there is interesting. One doctor who saw me eight months pregnant failed to explain (leading me to believe he didn't even know) that pregnancy and breast-feeding hormones can alter your prescription. I found this out quite by accident, after I'd already purchased new lenses for my glasses that changed in the months after my son was born. I think this is something that all eye doctors should be aware of and inform patients about. Dr. Hanning (a female doctor), who I saw a year later, when my prescription changed again, knew this and mentioned that it was good to wait to and see where your prescription settles after big hormonal changes (e.g. giving birth, weaning your infant). Whether this is just a larger bias or this particular doctor's ignorance (I don't think he legitimately misled me), it's not something an informed, professional doctor would allow a patient to be ignorant of.The second issue I had was with a front desk staff who filled in for an glasses salesperson. I had received a call saying my glasses were available for pick up and popped in to get them adjusted to my face. I kept trying to explain that my face was not symmetrical, that the glasses needed to be adjusted in such a way that accounted for this, that they were extremely askew. After at least 15 minutes of her going back and forth to another room to adjust them, and the glasses appearing to be even more askew on my face than before, with more than one comment from her about the "lack of quality" in the frames I'd purchased online and brought in, several comments that she couldn't tell they were crooked, and new customers backing up, I calmly told her, "It appears that you are frustrated with me. I simply would like to make sure my glasses fit properly before leaving here this evening." In very terse words, she replied "I'm not frustrated, I don't know what else you want me to do." I calmly explained that the glasses were crooked on my face and that I knew there was a way to adjust them because LensCrafters had always successfully adjusted them. As a matter of fact, I shared, the last time I was at LensCrafters, they specifically said that they didn't want me to leave unless I was completely satisfied. My husband and three very young children had been waiting for me for close to an hour, by this point I was close to just leaving. But the glasses were so horribly crooked, I knew I wouldn't even be able to wear them. She told me that she had done all she could and didn't know what else she could do. I was close to tears and was so frustrated that I had taken a chance on purchasing my (very expensive) lenses with MyEyeDr, when the other eyeglasses salesman came up and asked her to finish up with the customer he'd been helping and took over. He spent 5 minutes, did two further adjustments and finally my glasses were sitting on my face properly. Two weeks later, I went into LensCrafters to get a pair of glasses I'd purchased online adjusted. I offered to pay for the time of the person who helped me since I didn't get them from LensCrafters. She declined payment and sat there adjusting my glasses for free. I mentioned that my face was not symmetrical, to which she replied, "Honey, nobody's face is symmetrical. That's why we're here!" She made sure I was completely happy. And she did it for free. The difference between the service I received at LensCrafters and the service I received at MyEyeDr was profound. I really love Dr. Hanning and want to continue to see her, but I'm debating leaving for good after that horrible experience with my lenses/glasses.My family and I are LensCrafters customers for good!In short, YES to eye care with Dr. Hanning at MyEyeDr. If you want a good experience purchasing glasses, I'd d
