Our cat is a sweet angel at home, and a terror at the vets. However, we just finished her yearly appointment, and are SO impressed. Dr. Donna Manley and Shay H (Vetrinary Assistant) are cat-whisperering miracle workers. They recommended a sedation plan before the visit, so Chia was alert but relaxed during the transport and exam. They also had the brilliant idea to simply remove the lid of her cat carriers so she could stay in her safe space during the exam, rather than try to wrestle her out. I've seen our cat become reactive (and unfortunately) lunge at other vets; but, she was completely okay with getting her shot and physical evaluation from Dr. Manley. She didn't even hiss when the vet palpated her tummy and looked at her teeth. For the first time, I can say that no one involved with her vet visit was traumatized (including her). We are so grateful, and highly recommended Dr. Manley and Shay :)

I took my senior chihuahua Cisco here for his golden years and he was treated so well by Dr. Wood and team. I recently had to have him put to sleep and the vet ( Dr. Sirk) handled it with such compassion that it was the only thing that got me through the overwhelming grief of it all. Forever grateful for the entire team who treated my furry family like their own.

We love it here. The front desk staff is always so friendly and loving to our pups when they come in for a visit. Dr. Sirk is so amazing, kind and thorough when it comes to caring for Moose and Tatanka. Thank you!

I've never gone to a vet that was so caring and transparent with what they were doing and what it would all cost. My kitty got great care, and the vet was so kind to me and to my cat! Highly recommend!!

They all took wonderful care of my dog. At the time we were not clients of the this vet. So this was my dogs first time there. My dog is very anxious at the vet - you can literally see his body shaking but not when we walked into Old Dominion Animal Hospital. His body wasn’t shaking at all and he was calm. It was a wonderful experience. We switched to this vet after this first experience and we are so happy!

Indont understand businesses who’s only operating hours are those when the majority of the community are at work. Perhaps you should consider one night per week with adjusted office hours, say 11am-7pm, and maybe a half a day on Saturday to give people who work 8-5 a chance to come in. My guess is you’ll gain a lot of new clients since you were the top referral.

Dr Bolton is great. She helped me when I needed it the most. She gave me all my options though I knew I had to make the hardest decision of our baby Marlo. They are very compassionate. Thank you so much Dr. Bolton for helping me and helping know what is best for my dog.

Definitely the best place for cats! Their cat specialist is incredible. I drive two hours (each way) so my cat can be treated by her.

I have 3 dogs ranging 14, 9, & 5 yrs old. 2 lap dogs and 1 Aussie. Moving them to this practice was the best moment for my dogs. Everyone in this practice is excellent and they take the time with your pets. I am very grateful with my pups care now. I realized how much care they never received before once I came here. E’nia at the front desk is awesome!!!!! Her smile, sweet welcome, and genuine caring attitude is wonderful! And Dr. Becca Bolton she listened to everything I mentioned and did not make me feel rushed. Thank you for that. Not to mention Dr. Garrett is wonderful! Thank you all for an amazing visit again!

This clinic is very nice! Lovely staff and doctors, quality treatments, good priorities, and lots of knowledge. Have to say it's quite expensive but its worth it for my Cavapoo puppy!

Honestly had a really awful experience taking my dog here to get neutered. They had an issue with my pets procedure and failed to notify me about it. Called me to tell me about their error and how they were concerned and urgently needed an update, I proofed them with this update and my pet was experiencing multiple red flags in recovery after surgery, despite me telling them this they did not acknowledge it try to make me feel better or do anything for my pet. I wish I had never had my pet get this procedure, it was an awful experience. I ended up taking my pet elsewhere to receive follow up care and make sure to repair issues caused by this office.

We are on our 5th vet with OD. First the Dad, then the son, then Dr. Cho, then Dr. Kramer and now another new vet. We have a cat with ongoing health issues and Dr. Kramer treated her from the beginning but now she won't read her blood results (every three months), because she transferred to the Crozet office and according to the front desk: "she is not getting paid" to do that. Quite the let down. The care of our animals is good but expensive. I'm in a quandary because I am told I can drive to Crozet (we picked OD because it is very close to us in the City) and maybe keep Dr. Kramer (who is an excellent vet). The blood work our cat needs is done by a tech and is a fast visit. Going to Crozet seems ridiculous.

I love the staff and veterinarians here. I feel like my pets are well cared for and that everyone is truly concerned for their well-being. After my young female cats were spayed, I had a morning after call to make sure I didn't have any questions and to ask how the girls were doing. Meeting others in the waiting room makes me feel like they feel the same. It is also a very welcoming environment walking into the building, which may just be because I love the art and color selection, but it's worth mentioning.

Basically, I adore Old Dominion Animal Hospital. My family made the switch more than 10 years ago and has now brought three dogs to them. They've seen us through well visits, sick visits, and everything in between.I first made the switch after my previous vet resorted to muzzling my dog rather can taking the time to gain her trust. I understand that this is needed at times, but the vet I saw at Old Dominion didn't need to opt for the muzzle- she simply took a few moments to hang out and let my dog settle and get acclimated to the space and to her. It made for a much less anxiety inducing experience for all of us.When it was finally time to say goodbye, my ODH vet came to our house to euthanize my dog, free of charge. The experience was so calm and positive - it was the best possible experience for a tough goodbye to a best friend. My most recent puppy LOVES the vet's office. He's been all tail wags and kisses for the staff. The team is also organized and down to earth.Highly recommend!
