So I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is very nice, spacious, and clean. I wasn't exactly happy as this was a second choice...I was wrong. Quiet hotel, friendly and helpful staff. The cost is reasonable and my room is great. Restaurants are a little walk away. Free breakfast and parking! #

Very comfortable room in the center of town. Front desk was very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was nothing too exciting but the availability of coffee on the lobby was such a treat!!!Walkability: You can walk everywhere from this hotel.

Start with the good. Location is terrific. Right next to the Mall. Staff are courteous and helpful. Breakfast offered a great variety and real plates and silverware were provided! For early departures, coffee was in the lobby at 5:00 AM. The not so good and the comic. For $250/night (including all taxes and parking) I expect more than public bathroom quality toilet paper. The picture quality for over the air networks was awful! Cable channels slightly better. Their welcome ad perfectly clear. Holes worn through carpet in 2 places (room 210). Arms of desk chair roughed up from banging into table. The comic. When you open the door to the bathroom the light switches are located BEHIND the open door! Must have had a discount architect. We were their from 12/23-12/26/2023.

This is the perfect Marriott property to stay at in Charlottesville. Literally 1/8th of a mile walk to the Downtown Mall. Close to shopping, good, breweries, everything. Totally walkable area to/from the hotel towards campus as well.Upon our arrival, the staff were engaging and very professional. The AGM took the time to even get us some half and half at the nice coffee/tea station in the lobby. This did not feel like a Residence Inn compared to ones of old. It was more upscale and the rooms felt polished. You will not regret giving this well-maintained property a shot!

Due to a work contract that provides housing, I have been living out of this hotel for the last 6 months. The good:The location is perfect. It is easy to walk to UVA, to the downtown mall and to a large variety of restaurants. The property is clean and well-maintained. I have always felt safe staying here. There is parking under the hotel. When it is pouring down rain, that is an amazing detail. The rooms are large enough to not feel cramped during a long stay. The kitchen area is functional and the refrigerator is full sized. The staff is friendly, hard-working and there is very little turnover. They are truly a team focused on caring for their guests.During the cold months, there has been coffee, decaf, tea and hot water available in the lobby from early in the morning until around 9 pm. In the heat of the summer, that was only there in the mornings. The breakfast buffet is solid: waffles, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, sausage or bacon, hot cereal and a couple types of cold cereals, a variety of yogurts, fresh fruits and bagels/breads/muffins/scones. If someone is Keto, vegan, gluten-free, or had personal religious dietary restrictions, they would still be able to get a full meal from the breakfast options. Occasionally, the scrambled eggs are substituted with some sort of omelette or soufflé. That breakfast is included with the room. The only thing I see that could use an improvement is the workout room could use a bit of an upgrade. While visiting with a staff member, I found out that is in the works and will be happening in 2024.This hotel is everything that a Marriott property is supposed to be.

Stayed here for a week. The room felt like a mini apartment. Very clean! The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was different everyday and had a mixture of cold and warm dishes. The staff at breakfast particularly a woman named Ginny, were friendly and efficient. Thomas at the main desk was by far my favorite front desk attendant. Very funny helpful and outgoing. The man who was cleaning one evening, his name is T, also became a favorite of mine as he as well is down to earth friendly and absolutely hilarious. The area around the hotel was busy everyday as there are many things to do in the area. The atmosphere felt very safe and inviting.

1 of the best Marriott locations I've stayed at yet. As a Platinum Elite bonvoy member, I was really impressed with everything! The breakfast was off the hook compared to most other continental breakfasts I'm used to. Highly recommend this place! Thank you, Management for a wonderful job!

Excellent accommodations, very friendly staff and people who also stayed here, great service, breakfast and felt secure. Has a laundry facility and a little market store with snacks, necessities & drinks. Clean, warm atmosphere. Highly recommend staying here.Rooms: Rooms are excellent, fully furnished & clean (it feels like a higher end 1bdrm apartment) plenty of storage and space & a walk in shower.Safety: Felt very secure staying here, plenty of privacy and it has a private parking lot/garage.Walkability: It’s walking distance to the Downtown Mall about 3-4 blocks, which has food, entertainment , movie theater.. etc.Food & drinks: Coffee, Tea & Hot Chocolate available free 24hrs a day. Every morning there is a Good spread for Hot Breakfast (each day is a little different)

Good place, it hits the 3 star mark. The regular price for rooms is quite high though. The staff at breakfast was very warm.

If you don’t tip they don’t clean. No sign on the door, no one is in the room so no excuse other than i didn’t know they worked off tips. I’ve been here a couple weeks and I’ve had to get maintenance to get my trash dumped and I’ve had to go to the front desk for towels and toiletries. It’s not something I’d expect from a Marriott. This isn’t the bonvoy experienceGreat they have also taken away the hot water!!!!!Nothing beats a cold shower I’m telling you I can not believe the amount of issues I’ve had to suffer while being here. All they can do is offer an apology while they continue to take away basic necessities. Just imagine your house catches on fire and so you look for one of the newest hotels in Charlottesville to stay at until your house is fixed, now imagine that hotel being this one filled with roaches and freezing cold water when it comes time to shower as if you don’t have enough problems let’s add a problem that doesn’t go away while you still have to go to work in your kids still have to go to school. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn’t enjoy conversations with the homeless early in the morning to go along with your coffee and cold showers. Again I am in disbelief this is just a fancy super 8!!!
