I'm usually dragged into this place by my significant other, but it's grown on me over time. There are many nicely-scented product samples on display and lots of nicely branded stuff to look at. I just find it to be a bit overwhelming at times when you're trying to make a selection for someone as there's so many things to choose from!

I recently came in to Ulta to get some lipstick and I was quickly reminded why I don't shop here anymore. Two of the three cashiers looked like they had just rolled out of bed, no makeup (don't y'all get discounts as employees?), hair frizzy and unmanaged. Beyond their unprofessional look, the cashier I got had a serious attitude issue. She was being extremely nice and chatty with the person before me, but when I came up to the counter she clammed up even after I said hello. When I stuttered over my words when she asked what my number was (I had just gotten off work and was scatterbrained), she looked at me with what can only be described as the Kubrick Stare. Head down, looking up at me through her eyebrows like some kind of psycho.Sephora has much nicer staff who actually treat their customers nicely, and not like you're an inconvenience for existing!

I very rarely go in here because customer service at registers is always horrible. But today really bothered me because the associate just threw my GLASS bottle foundation into the bag that was sitting on the counter along with the rest of my stuff. My heart dropped when I heard the clank sound. I was so relieved to see it didn't break. But for me to spend my money and have my items treated like that is a huge NO for me. This location has gone downhill. Lynchburg Ulta is where the best customer service is at.

I came in to get some updated makeup. I spoke with Jasmine about what I wanted and explained my budget and she was extremely helpful. She was also very kind and thoughtful. I would definitely recommend her! She was not pushy on products. She was very knowledgeable.

Unless you’re getting pick up, even then, RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!!! The employees at this location are very rude, they will not greet you or help you. If you ask a question they act annoyed or will just ignore you. When you go to the pick up counter they will tell you “you should have gotten in the ACTUAL line to be helped.” This is a terrible location.

Product on sale, 4 without caps on them so I assumed they were to be used as samples. When using in front of mirror was approached by associate asking if I’d purchased. Explained the situation and she took from me and explained she’d now have to take off the floor. When she said “not all came with caps” I told her I’d never by product without a cap. Her response, “you don’t have to”. My response… out the door. Two customers lost, 2 memberships lost and wish I could get back the hundreds we’ve spent with Ulta.

Manager on duty (Greg) was very defensive and dismissive. I simply called to inquire why I wasn’t informed that I had available points to redeem. He immediately went into his sales associate didn’t make a mistake. I wanted to know how to rectify this situation. I was informed I could come back in to return and repurchase. I’ll think about shopping at this store in the future. He made no offer to fix this mistake on their part. Returning to the store is very inconvenient.

Kat at the Ulta salon is FANTASTIC she's super sweet and does such an amazing job she got me from a dark brown to a beautiful platinum and black in two visits (as expected for dark to light) and I absolutely recommend going here for your hair needs. She even helped me grab what I need for upkeep

Ok selection… glad they finally added Tom ford perfume. My only issue is clerks don’t stop bugging me everytime I’m in there. I was asked if I needed help 5 times within 3 minutes

Love the products! The workers however were so dismissive and rude. They shewed me and my friends away from an area of the store when we simply asked a question. They said we couldn’t pick up the product, yet they all pocketed their own to buy before the long line of customers behind them could get a chance. We were polite and they did not need to act like that. If you can’t be nice to the people that come into the store, then you should not work there.

I came in to buy all new makeup. I wanted to find a brand thats good for my rosacea and good coverage, as well as color match. I came right at 11 when they opened and no one offered to help me. I walked around aimlessly for 20 minutes while 2 young ladies talked in the corner. Others I guess stocking. Then one young lady walked to the counter and watched her phone. With all these people around and not one offering a customer assistance it was disappointing and quite frankly rude. I’m not sure if it was my appearance dressed in leggings and tennis shoes and they didn’t think I had money to spend but I don’t feel the need to dress up to go test makeup and buy it. Either way you loss a $300 to $400 sale because Customer Service 101 ask your customer if you could help them???? I guess I need to spend my money elsewhere it not good enough for Ulta.

Booked an appointment for a blowout with Irene. Get to the appointment and she says "I'm running WAY behind" and acts like it's an inconvenience for her that I showed up for my appointment. Said it would be about 20 minutes late - no problem. Come back 20 minutes later, still nowhere close to being available. Fast forward an hour later. I ask how long it would take for my appointment and her response was "well I don't know, I don't know how long your hair is..". Moral of the story, extremely rude staff. It was shocking how she acted like it was my fault that I showed up and expected my appointment to be on time...
