Please create a system for people to print their labels. If a customer wasn’t given a QR code, USPS’s only solution is to tell customers to drive to FedEx down the street, pay (in my case) almost $4 just to print one label, and then have to drive all the way back for the actual package dropoff. On top of that, the self serve kiosk wouldn’t let me scan in my prepaid label for no apparent reason, warranting another wait in line. Both people working that day were curt, although I can’t really blame them. If being a customer here is this frustrating, I can only imagine what they have to deal with as employees.

As someone training to become a physician, accountability is a standard I live by—if I ever signed off on something I didn’t actually do, I’d face suspension, loss of licensure, or worse. Unfortunately, that same level of responsibility seems completely absent at this post office.
It’s become the norm in Charlottesville for USPS to mark packages as “delivered” even when they haven’t been. My USPS portal will confidently claim something is on my doorstep, yet it doesn’t arrive until the next day—or sometimes days later. That’s not just frustrating; it’s deceptive. I depend on that tracking system to be accurate. If your internal system says it’s “out for delivery,” then I should be able to trust that. Don’t mark it as delivered if it’s still in the back of the truck or sitting in your hub. I’d rather see a delay notification than be misled into thinking something has been stolen or lost.
The delays at the Seminole and Barracks location are frequent, and your hub seems consistently overwhelmed. I get that the USPS is facing budget cuts and systemic issues, but that doesn’t give this branch a pass on basic reliability. I urge you to consider consolidating operations with the other Charlottesville branch if it means improving efficiency and transparency.
And let me be clear—some of the items I receive are not optional. Medication like Mounjaro, which requires cold storage and costs thousands of dollars, cannot be mishandled or delayed. This isn’t just a matter of convenience—it’s about safety, cost, and trust.
There’s room for improvement here, and I sincerely hope this office takes it seriously.

Avoid this racist white old man staff if possible. Nightmare interaction with him every time. The other staff is always wonderful.

Perfectly fine Post Office if somewhat understaffed. Staff don't do the budgeting though, nor do they kick off suspect foreign adventures or provide corporate socialism for bankers.
To the gentleman receiving pets via the USPS (?) I suggest shipping to a country PO. North Garden on 29, Arvonia(?) on 250 are good. Deeper country even better. Ivy or Crozet prob not great.
If you are shipping a lot, DEFINITELY print your own postage (free svc w a discounted rate from Ebay Amazon prob Etsy. Or use a vendor. Worth the sub.) Drop it off at the empty window & you're off like a prom dress. Gets there quicker too.
North Garden does passports too.

I had the worst experience in this place, and unfortunately, I have to go there because it's the only USPS in Charlottesville—insulting staff.

Rude front staff. Asked me to buy tape to place shipping label. Have never been asked to do that at any other USPS location previously

Would give zero stars if I could. I went to ask for help locating a package and an older gentleman with a mustache treated me horribly like I was inconveniencing him and wasting his time when all I was trying to do was locate the package that THEY lost. Thanks for nothing

Showed up on Wednesday May 10 around 4:30, trying to ship a box of my things home soon before my flight home and they were closed. Kinda crazy when they close at 5.

I am not sure why they offer a “parcel pick up” window if they don’t service the line of that window. We had an order of live animals arrive last week and I waited over 20 minutes at the pick up counter for assistance. At this point, I had watched an entire line of customers be helped and if I had gotten into the general line, I would have been serviced in half the time. The last time I came to pick a package up, I witnessed staff being unkind to a person who is gender fluid, and the behavior I witnessed towards them was appalling. Very obvious discrimination, and even though it wasn’t towards myself seeing how this crew operates I don’t necessarily trust them with my mail.In the future, I will insist that our mail be routed to our regional post office as it should be.

I had a wonderful experience shipping two packages at this USPS location. There was a line (to be expected around the holidays) but the two clerks were efficient and friendly to each customer which made the experience quick and stress free for everyone. When I got to the window, I didn’t quite have the right size boxes for my packages and Kendrick was friendly, patient, and gave me a suggestion on how to repackage. I stepped out of line to repackage and then when I got back up to the window Kendrick was just as friendly as before and made sure everything was squared away. I usually dread having to go to the post office but I will definitely be back to this location when I need to ship something in the future. I also have to agree with another reviewer that this location was well stocked with materials and packaging of all sizes.

I use this post office often but am leaving this review to specifically inform people that they close at 5 pm on Mondays, not at 6 pm like Google claims, and for some reason I can't edit the time.

Perfect example of how government providing a "human right" or "public service" doesn't accomplish anything. Zero accountability because there is zero competition for sending things to a P.O. BOX. I waited for 30 minutes during their "open hours" and no employees showed up.
