Food Lion's are never much more than OK, but they definitely vary by location. This Food Lion was the closest grocery store to our old house, until Wegman's moved in, so if we needed one or two things quickly and didn't feel like going up to Barrack's, this is where we landed. The store always felt slightly empty, of people and staff. But the shelves were always stocked with what I needed. Except eggs! It is so crazy to me that in this day and age a store can get away with not selling any free range eggs or eggs that aren't in styrofoam. It's been a few months since I've been in, so maybe they've decided to stock a better selection--the times they are a-changin'! Hopefully. The selection at Food Lion is never as extensive in general, but their own brand stuff can be pretty decent quality actually and at good prices. Also they always have that discount shelf in the back of the store where I've nabbed things like organic whole grain pasta for 30 cents before. Always worthwhile to have a lookie. Food Lion. You are nostalgic, and conveniently located often, but I can't rely on you for a whole grocery shopping trip.
