Manager was super friendly and helpful! Food was great and their “wall of Flame” hot sauce selection is amazing. I’m a “fire eating pepper head” and they had some incredible choices. Will absolutely go back!!!Vegetarian options: Seasoned Veggies, tofu, quinoa, all on tacos burritos or in a bowl

The food is SO GOOD. They don't hold back on the seasoning and flavors. As someone that finds a lot of restaurants bland, I love love love getting punched in the face by the flavor gods.Just to be clear, this isn't authentic Mexican and doesn't pretend to be. It's a very modern take on tacos/burritos/etc.

I've been here numerous times and the food is always 100% fresh and hot. They serve generous portion sizes. The service is impeccable. Some of the kindest, friendliest staff around. If you haven't been....it's a MUST in Chesapeake.

Ordered the sunset burrito, not too spicy, but definitely some good heat and flavor. The only other mods I made to the recipe were adding pickled red onions, sour cream and cilantro...all of which were included upon request. I'm loving the flavor combinations and the freshness of ingredients. California tortilla is doing it right and is a real contender for Chipotle/ Moe's. I rate this burrito 5/5Parking: Big ole parking lot

This place was really nostalgic and, for me, it beats Chipotle. I would recommend coming here if you want a mix of healthy food and comfort food! ??

I came here because Qdoba used to be in this spot so I thought I would give it a try and see how it compares. Let's just say that it is probably equal to or greater. The food was delicious and staff was polite.

Found this place online. Took the family to check it out. Great food and a reasonable price. Only thing I dislike is the paper straws.

Food is so good, very impressed with the burrito ? which is even better that they have throwback Thursdays where they sell them for their original price from four years ago. Staff is very kind!

As a former employee of this establishment I must warn all future employees my experience. I came into California Tortilla with 0 expectations, only cause it was my first job after working for myself since age 18.That changed quickly considering my first day on the job I had to separate employees from fighting and shouting, immediately recognizing the lack of professionalism in the hierarchy. I looked past the chaos and looked that bigger picture which was, I needed money to fund my business. So I THEN settled, in hopes to 1. Bring new life into the restaurant and 2. Learn a few things from ownership that could potentially benefit my business, things like professionalism, marketing, management. But I learned the hard way.“What three can do one can do” should be the philosophy of management here. I came in a cook and was practically forced to be versatile due lack of help giving to our lead managers. She had a lunch line BY HERSELF at LUNCH and me feeling sorry for her mistreatment I hopped on the line to assist her. Practically solidifying my new role as a Grill/Cashier/Dishwasher/Line-cook. But little did I know I’d be in her same position MULTIPLE TIME (only person on the line and taking orders). As a person who many can say is a “fan favorite” I never received the same energy from ownership. Multiple new hires came in making more than me with 3 years of experience under my belt. And knowing those facts made me feel completely heartbroken if I must be transparent. The actuality of seeing people you know you work harder than receive $1000s of dollars for work I was only receiving avg. $350 every two weeks completely discouraged me. And now we’re one week away from Christmas and i haven’t worked in 2 weeks…As an entrepreneur I understand the concept of capitalism. Get as much as you can with a little as possible($), and that philosophy is very present in this establishment. From breaking up possible physical altercations to folding burritos in 80 degree building temperatures for two days you can say I’ve been through a lot working with these guys but it’s truly the manipulation and neglect that made me result to this lengthy review.I’ve received ONE pay raise in my 3 years and most times I can’t even get my check on time nor my paystub. The unprofessionalism is super apparent and honestly I’d advise no young person to work this job unless you know you can handle a bit of toxicity and lack of transparency.

Amazing food! And I love the hot sauce selection! I even bought one of the ones that I tried there.
