This is the 2nd time in less than 6 months that we’ve rented from Hertz Parkview Chesapeake and the vehicle has bad tiresWe are literally cutting our trip a day short to get this vehicle back to Chesapeake. Last time we were stranded and told because we didn’t purchase insurance we had to pay for another rental… Even though AAA stated it was a bad tire.. Hertz Please stop renting cars that are in poor condition. It’s dangerous and irresponsible. We’ve put air in this tire 3 times today. It’s dark and we’re along ways from Chesapeake…

Don't really deserve any stars. Reserved a truck, and got a dirty mini-van instead. 2 hours to get vehicle from start to finish. Honestly, they need better qualified help. It's a shame an makes Hertz look bad.

The card reader want picking up my swipes and I had come all the way from nc to pick up a rental after my vehicle fire. Derek was a rockstar in finding an alternative method to accept the card and get me on my way.

The staff at this store was polite, friendly and very professional. They were able to solve our problem and get us back on the road in the exact vehicle we wanted and needed in less than 20 minutes. The Hertz counter at the airport was less than friendly and trying to get help on the phone was a horrible experience but these guys were able to make all that frustration go away in the first 5 minutes. Go see them!

Showed up to pick up my rental (coming from an hour anway) only to be told there wasn’t one available. Claimed they tried to call but no call to my phone, no voicemail. Completely no remorse about it. How do you advertise and let someone reserve something you don’t have. Oh, but I was offered a Tesla for my 6 person family ?

The insurance company who took care of my vehicle repairs sent me to Hertz, I had never rented a car through Hertz before. The vehicle I received ran well, was clean, full tank of gas and was ready when I arrived. The two gentlemen I dealt with were amazing! The first (im so sorry I don't remember his name) came to pick me up at the repair facility, he arrived quickly after I called for a ride and was a super nice person. Austin handled the rest of the check-in. He thoroughly answered my many questions and the process was very quick and easy. He also handled the return of the car process and provided a ride back to the repair facility (And he was off the clock, he was closing up shop as I arrived. Still, I felt he was genuinely glad to do it, a great guy.) I really felt these two gentlemen provided customer service beyond my expectations, this was a great experience!

I recently went to This Hertz on South Military in the Greenbrier shops due to a previous accident (not at fault) I had. I delivered my vehicle to the auto body shop and called them to pick me up. They were very quick to arrive and took me to their office. There I met Austin, the representative who handled my rental. He was very nice and professional.We did have some paperwork problems but Austin navigated them and had me up and running with a 2022 Dodge RAM in no time. I had the truck for four days then returned it once my truck was fixed. Just as quickly as I retrieved the vehicle the return was just as fast and efficient.They were very welcoming and took me back to the auto body shop to pick up my vehicle. I had a great experience thanks to Austin!

My vehicle was TOTALED and through insurance I went with Hertz. I don't believe they check there cars thoroughly or maintenance them as required. In the matter of 3 weeks I had to change into 3 different vehicles for one reason or another. The young man that handles receiving your vehicle is fast and efficient. He deserves an Employee of the Month Award! He was kind, considerate and efficient in everyway.In turning in the last rental my wallet was left in the vehicle, when I called and contacted lost and found the woman that answered was rude, unaffected by my issue and very abrupt. She stated " Ain't no one turned in no wallet, we clean out and check our vehicles thoroughly and it is already been rented out". This was on a Friday, when I went on the website it states Hertz is closed on Saturdays only to go in person on Monday and they were open 9 -12. When I spoke to the young man that helped me with my rental and told him where I thought my wallet maybe he took my number told me he would look himself and call me either way (GREAT Customer Service and Leadership skills). He in fact called at 5pm and retrieved my wallet. All it takes sometimes is for someone to take an extra step called kindness and it goes along way. I wish I had got both of there names, but I am really appreciative for his help in retrieving my wallet.

The staff was personable. They do business differently than many other car rental companies. No walk around of the vehicle. Indicated the wrong fuel level; I had to get it updated on a new contract because they were definitely going to let me drive off and would have got me with the okie doke when I returned the vehicle. But the Worst part is that the 4 year old vehicle was a gas guzzler with F'D UP windshield wiper blades; absolutely TRASH!! Almost took me outta here on my way back to Virginia Beach trying to navigate in the rain!! ? After ALL THIS Hertz REFUSED to offer any compensation. They merely retorted that since there hasn't been any other reports of this issue [from other renters] and I didn't call to report it to the customer service number... it was unfounded. I was 1 hour from home... what would have been the point. Needless to say, the overall experience was an utter catastrophe.

This location has terrible customer service. My car was hit at the dealership while being serviced so they're are picking up the tab. When I picked up the vehicle they did not tell me I only had it for 3 days (even though the dealership told them 7 days) the only thing they told me about was the $400 cleaning fee. No other information was given. After the 5th day, there were charges on my credit card for $50 a day. I was not previously informed about this as a possibility and they should, in my opinion, have called the dealership to inquire about the delay, not just charge me. (Still waiting on them to disappear)When I return the car, I ask them about the $50, they all just look at me, like a deer in the head lights. There were 3 people sitting in front of computers, 1 was actively typing, the other 2 were just sitting there. After 7 or 8 minutes, they finally asked for my name. Told me the contract just needed to be extended. Ok, fine, but a heads up would have been nice though.Before I left, I told them that the tailgate didn't work. You push the button to open it, you hear the motor but the door doesn't open. If you manually open it, it doesn't go up all the way and has trouble closing. She told me something along the lines of, you shouldn't be using the tailgate, it's a rental, you shouldn't use it. The vehicle was a Suburban. I've got 2 small kids, I needed the tailgate.
