Great Towing Service! The staff was really nice and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Their pricing was reasonable.

The customer service is absolutely horrible hear. They are lazy, incompetent, and liars. I called to confirm if my car was at the lot. The woman says yes. I arrive at the address gps picked up and called to ask for clarification that I was at the correct place when I didn't see any cars. She proceeds to say, oh your car is at a different location. Why wouldn't she confirm the address of where my car was when I initially called. Then, I go to the lot to clear out my car only to realize I left the correct key to get in. I go back to my house, get the correct key, and learn they called a tow truck to get the car WITHOUT me giving them permission. I asked why this happened and they said we can't do anything once insurance comes to get the car. I said that isn't what I was told. I ask the woman in the office again why this occurred and she said you need to call your insurance and this is the new location where your car will be. I speak to copart and my insurance afterwards and they both confirmed hickory towing gave them the green light to pick up the car. So I called the shop back and now the woman says well we have on our camera showing you were here. I said, yes that is true, but I never opened the car doors to get anything out nor did I call you to confirm I completed the clean out. She said, I made an assumption you had when I saw the camera and You didn't call me to tell me that you didn't clean it out. I explained to her that I don't appreciate being lied to and that this was poor customer service to blame me for the mistake she made. I was told that the car would not be picked up unless I called to confirm I cleaned it out. I did not make that call and now because she made an assumption, I have to drive an hour one way to get my belongings. Do not support this business....avoid at all costs!!!!! If I could give it 0 stars I would.

Hickory towing saved me today in a nice tow truck. Was stuck at a light/intersection with broke down car and they rescued me in no time. Professional, polite, helpful and even got my car back running to get me home safely in the pouring rain! Will always recommend them to anyone in need! Excellent company!

Hubby's truck needed transporting from Ballahack Rd (almost NC) to a transmission shop in Norfolk (near NSU) and I asked him to use Hickory because they're locally owned and great stewards in our community (they took up donations for the western NC hurricane victims and for the young boy hit and killed basically in front of their location) and they were more likely to know pur location than an out of towner. Sure enough, when the young driver called for directions he knew exactly where we were. Once he arrived, he had hubby's truck up and carted off to Norfolk lickety-split. Our charge was $200 for over 25 miles. I thought that was a steal!! I've been charged a 1/3rd of that just to be towed 5 miles within the city limits! I will always recommend them for the points noted above.

If I could, I'd rate in the negatives as far as I could. Getting punched in the face would have been more polite than the conversation I had with the owner. When my car was towed, I called them to get it back, but the owner just kept on insulting me over the phone for SOME reason, and when I said I just wanted to pay the fee so I could get my car back, he refused and hung up. He was MORE than difficult; he was trying to refuse to give me my car back. I eventually got my car back, but I overheard that his side of the story was that I WAS the one being difficult! HE insulted ME, HE refused to give back MY property, and yet I'M the difficult one? I only see two types of ratings here, 5 star and 1 star, so I can only imagine that the 5-star ratings are all fake or from people who dealt with employees only, not the owner. His business license needs to be revoked, because he's a pathetic manchild who gets his rocks off from being a douchebag to others, no different than a cop who abuses his authority.

Once Hickory Towing Tech Blue found me in a bank parking lot off Greenbrier Pkwy, he did an outstanding job getting my defunct buggy, parked bow in, out of a vertical space onto the flatbed rig, being concerned and considerate all the while not to block other bank patrons in their spaces any longer than necessary. He's an amiable, agile, strong young man who knows how to get a difficult job done in the minimal time required. Truly a great value for what needed to be done. Thank you, Blue!

I hate to leave an unfavorable review for Hickory Towing because I’ve utilized their services in the past and they were just 5 stars at the time. Unfortunately this experience was different. To begin, I parked in the wrong spot at my apartment complex (imagine that but I digress) and I was towed by Hickory Towing. I take full responsibility for parking in the wrong spot, that was an unwise decision on my end. However, I was under the impression because the tow was at 5:30am, this was considered to be “during the day” so I thought the tow would be $150. However they classified 5:30am as “night” and the tow was $195. Now the sign states $150 Day/$175 night MINIMUM so the bare minimum price would have been $175 (since they classify 5:30am as at night). Either way I retrieved the car 2 hours later of it getting to Hickory Towing’s lot. I strongly feel as if they could have charged me $175 but again I digress. The worker actually stated that the city sets the rates and the city tacked on an extra $20 in fees recently. Anywho, I ended up giving the worker $200 in cash (because it was cash only) and I even allowed him to keepthe change ($5), simply because he said he didn’t have “change to give” me back. Not a problem! Mind you I didn’t receive a receipt or anything. The worker merely took a picture of my license and told me to have a nice day. Fast forward and as I am driving away I hear a strange noise under the underbody of my vehicle. So of course I call Hickory Towing to let them know something was wrong with my car. They told me to bring it back to their lot so their mechanic could look at it. Their mechanic was actually the same worker that I gave the $200 to for the cost of the tow (which was $195). The mechanic fixed the issue but claimed that the “heat shield/under tray” must have already been “slightly damaged” prior to him towing it. Personally, I strongly believe that there was no prior damage, and that this was a result of a poor hook and pull. Nonetheless, I was not given anything for the inconvenience, but he did fix the issue for no additional fee. Which to me was well warranted because they caused the damage to the vehicle. Nonetheless, I feel as if I should have asked for their insurance information and really pressed such an unjust issue but I chose not to. I merely want people to use precaution when dealing with this company. This was so distressing, I wouldn’t want any car owner to experience what I experienced this morning. One worker that arrived towards the end of the ordeal stated that he “owed me coffee next time”. A monetary amount for my inconvenience would have been nice because me driving even that short distance with that metal under tray hanging could have resulted in an atrocious situation.

Car needed an unexpected tow out on 168 EXPRESSWAY during high traffic volume. Called Hickory Towing - received immediate help. The service provider (Joe) took the lead at my MOST STRESED time. Ensured my safety, my car, and tow needs were handled professionally. Offered me to sit in the truck until my hubby picked me up or would take me with vehicle to maintenance service provider. They definitely made a bad afternoon much better. Thanks, service provider - Joe. Definitely 5 ? for company and 5 ? for Joe! They are now in my phone as "just in case."

My vehicle was towed from this company, this is by far the worst towing company I have EVER HAD to deal with trying to get my car back. I called their phone number to get information on how I could retrieve my vehicle, the man that answered has the most rude and arrogant way of speaking to people. He told me Saturday's they only release cars from 11am-3pm and call when you are there so we can send someone to meet you there. I called at 11:01 am was told 30-45 minutes MAYBE again with the nastiest attitude. Needless to say I was there until 12:55pm until someone decided to show up, I had to call 6 times during that time to see if they were getting closer and all i was being told was 5 minutes, 15 minute and someone should be there any moment now... yeah 2 hours later someone shows up. If you ever have to your vehicle back from their impound, good luck!! They are the worst if I could give 0 stars I would!!!

Back on December 30, 2023 I was involved in an accident with my 1968 Camaro. A guy made an illegal U turn and struck my car on the right front side leaving my car un drivable. My wife contacted Hickory Towing and told them the situation, Hickory dispatched a flatbed and it arrived within 15 minutes. The young man who was operating the truck was very kind and professional as he saw that I was already highly stressed. The right front fender was buried into the tire preventing it from moving/ or turning. The operator asked if it would be okay to pry the fender out just enough so the car could roll and I said yes. Despite my car being badly damaged already, the young man very carefully used the winch on the truck and was able to pull it out. I cannot begin to tell you how much I appreciated his handling of the situation and his skills in not damaging anything else. He got the car loaded and placed it perfectly in my driveway. I applaud Hickory Towing for their professionalism. I would highly recommend them to anyone. ????
