Terrible customer service. We went into this place because they had extended hours with a 10pm closing time for the holidays, however around 9:30 the lights started shutting off and there was no announcement stating otherwise. So we assumed the place was closing and quickly made our way to the front area to check out. There were 4-5 employees all in the front area talking and conversating with each other. One employee was even being checked out/helped by a fellow employee. There was another employee cashing out her register right in front of us. There were several register lights on as if they should be working the registers, but no. They were just buzzing around, just walking around back and forth right past us talking to each other, and not one person said a word to us. It was very confusing for us. Not a single employee offered to help us or asked us if we were ready to check out or conveyed to us that they would be with us shortly....nothing at all! We just stood there several minutes waiting, watching and wondering what was happening. We finally started thinking they were closed and that we didn't make it to the front in time to purchase the items we had found. Finally, another employee comes walking up from the floor area and tells a co-worker she was going to check us out. She then told us "the lights were broken and that they weren't trying to rush us out and that we could keep shopping". After standing there waiting and being ignored and treated so rudely by the other group of employees, we wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible and didn't want to shop anymore. It blew our minds how they were all just gathered hanging out talking and conversating and completely ignoring us. We were the only customers standing there waiting in line. One of the rudest experiences we've ever had. Will never shop at that location again.

Very surprised tonight by the most rude employee of Homegoods. His name is Austin, he saw me standing as the next person in line but walked away from his register. I waited for 10 minutes while l listened to the poor girl on register 1 try to tell the customer her return could not be accepted there. When Austin returned he was very rude. Even after I mentioned standing there as he walked away and his register light was on. He said have a good night and when I didn't reply he answered himself and said oh thank you, you too! When I turned to look for his name tag after that he actually asked if he could write his name on my receipt! Wow! He needs some serious customer service skills and training! Absolutely rude! And to think it's not even the holiday season yet!

DO NOT COME HERE!!Wednesday 11/07/2023 at around 4pm.I went in here to return 3 dog clothes. They all had tags and proof of purchase. There was this lady on lane 2 with no name tag. She was wearing leggings and black jacket her hair was black/brown wavy textured hair. I explained to her that these dont fit my dogs and they are either too small or too big. She looked at me with disgust and told me these are unreturnable and not acceptable. I asked her why and she said they dont accept used dog clothes. I explained to her they are not used i tried them on my dogs and these wont fit. I have the tags and receipt i dont understand the problem. Then she proceeds to say they have fur on them and that the policy is dog clothes are not returnable. I told her if that was the case then why isnt it stated on the return policy on the receipt and she told them customers dont pay attention to that nor listen so she cant accept my return. She asked if i would buy dog clothes with a bit of fur on it and my answer was yes i would if my dog had the size and it was the only size then yes i would, and its just hair i can throw it in the dryer and its not a problem. And she shakes her head and says no. Then she proceeds to be rude and in a condescending manner she went to 2 other customers on the checkout line and asked them would you purchase dog clothes that have fur on it? So unprofessional and customer service was rude. I think shes a temporary holiday worker but still i will never shop here ever again.

Two of the rudest employees work here, they aren’t wearing name tags, and refuse to give their names. I asked to speak with the manager both refused and one claimed to be the manager and then once I asked her name she shook her head and walked away. One claimed that if you try a dog item on a dog it is not returnable. Two of the most miserable people trying to make other people’s lives miserable one HomeGoods purchase at a time. One of them was called Tonisha by another employee.

Deb was awesome and took great care of us at check out ! We had bought a flat soda and my partner opened it as I finished checking out and Deb noticed there was no fiz sound! My partner is shy and quiet and doesn't like to make a fuss so they never would've said anything but Deb asked right away if it tasted alright and when it didn't had us swap it out for a good one. Amazing care and customer service. We also found a very cute Halloween dog toy :)

Always have unique pieces at a great price. They have different items every day and every week. If you are looking for something specific just come back on a day they get their trucks in. Weekends seem to be a hit or miss because of the sheer volume of people there.

Preposterous Customer Service!!!!If there was a ZERO star Option that is what I would give!Total contradiction of the expectations of a store that markets as Customer-centric quality!My mother - a God-Fearing Senior Woman, who WAS a Frequent Shopper - of Home Goods in Chesapeake, VA. Was treated with such disrespect.She mistakenly left one of her bags at the store. When returned to store to retrieve it, the cashier and store associate acted as though she was lying about leaving the item (even though, she had receipt in hand as proof)!Mother came home very upset, because she was made to feel as though she had to validate her credibility to store associates!One would think that a $5.99 item would be minimal in comparison to negative feedback and reviews!!!!
