New to the area, this store is ok/acceptable , just a couple things:
Why is there no bell for service at the seafood counter? Multiple times ive stood like an idiot for 5 minutes waiting on someone to help with other workers walking by me . Add a bell if you're going to allow the worker to disappear for that long.
The digital coupon deals are asinine . I dont have time in my day to deal with that garbage. Just put things on a regular sale like teeter does.

I come in covered in car grease with a shirt I've been wearing for days because I live in an rv and have no washer. The staff doesn't even flinch. I am poor as dirt, but here I eat like a king because of their 50% discount on expiring items. Thank you kroger

This store closes at 11!!! Don’t believe the hours here or even the automated hours if you call. They do not close at 10. They close at 11. Every night! ☺️

This Kroger location in Chesapeake is a standout for me. I consistently find the store to be exceptionally clean and brightly lit, which makes for a pleasant shopping environment. What truly sets this store apart is that it's always well staffed, meaning help is readily available when you need it.
I especially appreciate their commitment to reducing waste, and the zero waste markdown section near the dairy area is a fantastic initiative that I regularly take advantage of. It's great to find discounted items that are still perfectly good.
Parking is never an issue here. There's always ample space, including plenty of clearly marked handicap accessible spots. In fact, I find this location so much better than the alternative that I willingly drive past a closer Kroger just to shop at this one. That speaks volumes about the positive experiences I consistently have here.

i ordered matcha latte but can’t do hot. so i ordered ice matcha then i an ice milk with a lil matcha. so i asked a lil more matcha but lady didn’t close the lid properly it could have spilled all over. but also the matcha still looked white like ice milk. i’m not sure paying $6.10 is worth a drink like this. i can make ice milk for less than a dollar

This is my closest grocery store so I frequent it often. Most of the employees are welcoming and helpful. You won’t necessarily find everything you want, but I usually do ok. My issue lately has been the associates who bring your pick up order out to the car. It’s 50/50 if you have a friendly associate or one that wants to be harsh. One fella told me “next time you use the (on my way) button in the app, give me 10 or 15 minutes.” I was puzzled because that’s all he said and I never even said anything about my wait time, which wasn’t bad. That interaction totally changed my mood, and it just felt like he wanted to flex on me to show he was in control.

I completely messed up and ended up paying with the wrong card and had to have all my items returned and re-scanned…which was a nightmare for the staff and I feel terrible for it! BUT…ZEE, Vincent W., and Vincent R. were there to get me through the whole debacle. Zee was very patient with me and helped get everything straight. Couldn’t be more thankful for this crew that helped get this worked out for me!!

Without a coupon and a sale price, most items I compared cost more than competitors a little farther away. For me, it's worth the drive to shop elsewhere. I previously bought all my groceries there because they are closer to my house and easier to leave with a dedicated traffic signal. Now I only buy one or two items there because their store brand is better than the other's store brand. The other items I only buy when their price with a sale plus a coupon beat competitor's everyday prices.

The store opens at 6 a.m., I arrived at 6:02 to a locked door. Knocked and the person coming to unlock the door is typing on her phone, a very slow walk to unlock the door, as I stand outside in the drizzle. In the parking lot, every space close to the store is occupied by a Kroger employee. What in the heck has happened to customer service, and the customer comes first? Go to leave the store and evidently the lady that unlocked the door was too busy on her phone to flip the switch for the automatic door opener so I had to physically shove the door open to get out.

I have been a regular customer for many years. I stopped by this morning because I was hoping to find ribeyes on sale. I loaded up my cart because they had tons of good deals. I was scanning my items. Scanned some shrimp and decided to put in a different bag since I had raw fish and chicken in the bag I put it in. The attendant came over to check it out. I told him I scanned It and showed it to him on the screen. He Said whatever. Get it for free. I talked to a manager and assured them I was not stealing. I'll never shop at Kroger again. Walmart self checkout never acts like this.
