I just recently left Phenix Salon Suites, I was there for almost two years. My 1st year there started out great didn’t have any issues. With me being a tattoo artist I felt comfortable working there starting out.
Once the spring of April 2023 came around I is when I started to notice their was a mold issue. I had Mold growing in my suite also was having bad leaks. I mentioned the issue to the manger Felicia and she mentioned the mold would be taken care of.
At the time I thought they really had someone come out and probably remove it.
Fast forward to 2024 I started to have mold grew in my suite yet again, I went and mentioned it to Felicia who lied to me the previous year about them probably removing the mold.
It took them a few months to have someone come out and remove the mold as they claim. By that time the mold had grown wild in my suite and I would add pictures of the proof.
I had to always say something to Felicia the suite manager almost every day for a couple weeks to be move. I was starting to miss out on money and lose clients. It took for me to reach out to Kim who is supposed to be the owner of the building to step in which she isn’t any better than Felicia.
It was very difficult to reach Kim who’s always claiming she’s catching flights or just didn’t see she had missed calls or text messages. I was asked by Felicia if I could still work in a molded suite and I told her no I cannot due to the fact I have asthma. Once I mentioned I couldn’t I was ignored for a couple days.
Once I was finally moved into a temporary suite it wasn’t clean it was hair and dirt all over the floor also had holes and stains on the wall from the previous owner of the temporary suite.
I missed out on so much business due to these out of my control and Phenix does not do anything to help their tenants out when it’s their fault. They also expect you to still pay them even if you wasn’t able to work.
Just this past week in the 14th and 15th they had ppl come in changing tiles and wiping mold off the ceilings and walls of the building and then painting over it so no one NEW could see that it had previous mold.
So many tenants has left or is leaving due to this situation. If you are looking to move into Phenix I highly recommend that you do it with a lot of caution. It’s not a safe/healthy environment especially when you have a profession working on people’s skin.
Kim and Felicia are the absolute worst owner/managers and if you reach out to them to make them do their jobs that was in writing on the lease they will ignore you.
Here are the pictures but of course now they wipe the mold stains off and painted over it but the mold will appear again until it is properly handled.
