Dealing with PODS online has been the worst moving experience in the past 20 years of moving as a military family. The lack of communication, the email updates vs texts that dont match, the drivers do not call to say when they are coming. If you do file a complaint no one from the staff calls you. Instead they send a generic email and two days later close your case because they say you didnt reach out. Left voicemails with Jaerren Harvey who states they will call back within 48 hours and never received a phone call. The values of them stating that they are "Experts who care" is nothing but a punchline.Update: Still no resolution or anyone from the corporation contacting me since 6 Nov.

If it was possible to give zero stars I would. Bar none, Pods is the absolute WORST company to ever do business with. Buyer beware, this company will charge you thousands of dollars and will just lose your property in the end. Pods will damage what they don't lose then refuse to pay to fix or replace what they break. Do not be fooled by their so called discounts or easy delivery scams, the price quotes are NEVER accurate and even if you get a discount Pods will make that money back by charging you more for delivery. If you file a claim for damaged property or a lost Pod, the company will just ignore it. I had two Pods lost for months. No attempt to locate them, no compensation for the loss the damages or the extra effort and time it took me to locate them. I had to threaten a lawsuit to get them to find my property. Military members, just say NO! You will absolutely get ripped off!

Containers were delivered 1.5 weeks late, and weren’t picked up until another 2.5 weeks after they were scheduled. I am unsure if this was a customer service issue or a storage facility issue but each time we contacted customer service, they would attempt to reach out and not get in contact with anyone from the facility. Pods customer service multiple times said that someone would reach out with an update on details for delivery/pickup but never did. I received the same “I appreciate your patience, just wait for an update” each time I called wondering when they would do the jobs they were paid to do. I was also charged an extra month of container rental because they failed to pick up the containers. They told me it would get reimbursed, but it hasn’t and I have yet to receive any update to whether or not it ever will.Update: Pods is denying the reimbursement claim and only offered less than half of what they erroneously charged.

The people are INCREDIBLE! From the representative with the quotes and orders to the delivery drivers, every person was personable and helpful! My 3 stars comes from being a military family and needing a container that could fit a certain amount of weight. By all indications with PODS my home should have fit in the 16 ft single container. Based on my weight estimator from the military, I was well within my allotted weight. When the POD was fully packed, I had 4,000 lbs less, and had to get rid of 70% of my furniture. If you are a military family, the storage option is incredible when PCS-ing and you don't have a house to move into immediately, but I would order more, so that you can meet your weight requirements.

It was easy to coordinate the delivery & pickup of the container. Drivers were friendly & professional. Our items were returned to us in their original condition (as they were when we stored them).I thought the cost to ship the container from Maryland to Southern Virginia was a bit pricey at $1200.

I honestly don’t know where to start. This is my first review because they are that bad. Originally I order the pod to move across country, everything seemed fine. The driver showed up an hour and half late to start. Then the pods company sent the pod with all my belongings to the wrong location. Not even in the same state that I wanted. After I identify this mistake, they then charged me over $400 dollars to move it to the right destination. I filled many incident reports and not once have they followed through with any of them. After calling them for over a week to fix there issues they refuse to acknowledge any of the mistakes or even be some what reasonable to work with. They have charged me 3 different times this week with $400+. After calling for a week maybe a little more they decided to finally scdule a pod deliver but after the date that the rent 1 is due, so now they want me to pay rent 2. It has been over 2 weeks and still I’m unable to get my belongings unless I go to the pods storage and pick it up myself and rent a U-Haul to move all my belongings. Which my pod is still not there.Long story short if your reading this just know they will be so quick to sell it to you, but will mess it up and upcharge you until you can retrieve your stuff. I would not go to them unless you want to drop 8,000 for unnecessary cost because they can not figure their stuff out. Pods hope you’re reading this because again I’ll probably call you tomorrow and get no where.Again this is my only review I have ever written because I don’t want to see someone go through the same problem I did.

So you understand the ramifications of just deciding to change our date for us to a timeline that doesn't serve us and changes YOUR CONTRACT, we now have to drive to Kitty Hawk NC, pack our entire house in one day, then drive 8 hours round trip and put everything in storage to then be in time for my kid to start school and to leave a home we have to contractually be entirely be out of to complete the sale so we can move for work. The stress you have caused by simply leaving a voice mail after you missed BOTH drop off times is immeasurable and shameful in your lack of desire to fix it. Worse, someone changed our initial 8/25 date to make it look like they were only a day late changing "8/28" to 8/29. They moved everything else out to as far as 9/1 - we're long gone. We have a snapshot but that tells me it's not simply stupidity and integrity is non existent. Someone knows how wrong they are...

I would recommend doing business else where. We called PODS to see if we could have a POD dropped at a storage facility we were using they said it would be okay. I called the storage company to verified if it would be okay, they said they as long as it was not overnight. I recalled the POD company to see if they could pick it up the same day they were dropping it off. I was transferred multiple times all around saying yes and saying no, most seemed unaware of what they could do. This was very confusing and stressful. I was told they have a local facility that could have a POD there, I was unsure whether or not because I didn't want to transfer anything to another facility and spend more money on more trucks and movers. I was reassured that I could cancel this was 3 day process. I decided to cancel because I found a cheaper and better than this company that would pick up at the storage facility. I was charged and had a $150 cancelation fee even when I was reassured I could cancel the next day if changed my mind without any context of a fee since it was at there location. All together the misinformation and waste of time.

Update...Matthew Vandenburg at PODS immediately reached out to me and submitted a refund for the delivery fee due to the inconvenience. Thank you Matthew.I scheduled a move and had to reschedule. I went online and picked an available date and never got a confirmation call the night before. I called them the morning of and was reassured that I was on the schedule even though the online account didn't have a time frame. I waited all day and they never called or showed up. I promptly got online and rescheduled for the next available date which showed as the next day. Once again I didn't receive a call the night before or the morning of. I called again and was told once again that I was on the schedule. They even confirmed with the warehouse in Chesapeake. I called again that afternoon and was told that I was still on the schedule and that they were running behind. They never showed up. I eventually got it days later but I requested a refund for the pick up for the inconvenience. Today I got an email saying they respectfully declined my refund. Never again! Additionally I will also never recommend them to anyone else. Luckily I was only moving 15 miles away. I can't imagine how difficult it would have been if I was moving across country and wasn't still in the area.

Absolutely Wretched Customer Service. You cannot reach these people on the phone if you have questions. They say you must wait at least 30 minutes to speak with a representative. I waited 45 minutes and just heard elevator music. PODS doesn't respect your time. Even the Chat assistance wasn't available!!! Trying a smaller company that has time for me next time

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!! Got scammed $1500 using PODS. DMO advised military not to use them because of the scams but I did not listen and got scammed. I ordered a pre weight and a after weight. They dropped it off with our giving a weigh pre ticket. My husband and I both spent 3 days trying to get ahold of them. Getting put on hold for 2-5 hours each time only to get hung up on with no one even saying hello. Listen to your local DMO if your military.

Two 16-ft pods to relocate from the west to the east coast in less than 90-days. Great convenience and service. A few snags along the way but super flexible. The best of all was Kim, our sales rep, who was with us the whole way, always calling back with a smile and lots of help. Yes the online help was available, but the human touch is priceless. Great experience overall.

Obtaining and scheduling a POD is fairly simple as is the scheduling for pick up. Unfortunately, PODS does not make it clear that there is both a pick up and delivery fee for the POD. That should clearly be stated in all literature and presented openly when placing an order and when requesting a pick up from the company. Furthermore, it is very difficult to reach an actual person to inquire about the additional fees charged to one's banking account.

They'll get the job done but not on your schedule as advertised. More it's on their schedule. I have experience with 3 different locations and 1 location is just the worst. Rude, unmotivated and unorganized. Unfortunately customer service representatives has no control of warehouse workers. Management is a joke and will lie about employees to save their bacon - true because pods records all phone call and I know my case was heard. If you can use smaller units go with upack instead

They will charge fees without you knowing ahead of time. My redelivery fee was supposed to be $12, well it actually cost me $689. You store some of your prized possessions with this "trusted" company and then have to pay a ransom to get those belongings back. Very unhappy customer
