Call them before coming to the store to make sure they are open. Nice staff, BUT, don't believe what Google tells you about their operating hours. Google said they were open, 2:56 PM Monday, Labor Day, they were not. Drove 20 miles to get here, wasted.

I don't give five stars often, but Southern Stare deserves a five star ✨️ review. The moment I walked in I was very pleasantly welcomed and ask if I needed assistance. I asked for what I was shopping for and the young lady didn't just direct me but she showed me. We talked about the product, she gave yer thoughts and it just got better from there. I bought two versions of what I was shopping for and that was my decision with no sales pressure. It was my first visit and oh boy was I pleasantly surprised because they have every thing you need for your farm or your garden and of course your pets and farm animals. I even bought me a nice pair of boots. So, if you're going be ready to buy some stuff because you're gonna want more than you thought you would and be happy about it.

We don't leave a bad review, ever. But here we go. Bought two bags of expensive Victor brand dog food here. Our two dogs would not get near one of the bags but gobbled the food from the second bag down. I brought the bad bag back to exchange it for another one and was hassled about it by the manager because it was open. I replied that you don't know it's bad unless you open it but he didn't really understand that concept. He reluctantly let us exchange it for a new one but warned me that they will not accept an open bag next time. So, we took the exchanged bag and bought an additional bag and left. Got home and had the same scenario again. The first bag we opened smelled ruined when we opened it. We looked into it and Victor actually prints the return policy right on the bag. It says if you are not 100% satisfied for any reason, return the unused portion of the product to the merchant you bought it from for a 100% refund. We also learned that there is a date on each bag. The ruined bag had expired 4 months ago. These bags have a shelf life for nearly a year from the date they are shipped. Why do they have bags that are so old at this store? Anyway, we called in advance and advised them about the Victor return policy and they were going to contact the supplier and get back to me but never did. We then returned both bags and asked for a full refund. They were not very thrilled about it. No apology, just an irritated demeanor. We were very kind and polite throughout the ordeal but decided to take our business elsewhere.

Southern states has a good value on a number of items. However I gave 4 stars because I feel this location has declined over the last few years, it's not always well stocked. The garden/plant area is pretty rough as of today. Employees on my visit today were very friendly, I have had less than enjoyable interactions in the past at this location with different employees.

Employees are always friendly and ready to assist. Good prices on dog food. Hours are limited I do wish y'all were open a little later on Saturdays.

Great selection of non GMO plants in their nursery and very impressed with all their product offerings inside/outside the store...they even had landscape timbers!!
