I arrived 1hr and 15min late to my reservation. I had reserved it for 14hr. When I got there, the lady belittled me for being late in front of her co-workers multiple times and said they almost gave my truck to someone else who came in asking for it. This is fault on their end as well as U-Haul’s. First of all, the night before, I got a call from U-Haul saying they moved my reservation back 30min without my permission, so they can’t act like time is hard and fast for them. Second, what is the point of a reservation if it doesn’t secure the truck? I understand I was late, but considering how long I had intended to use it (14hr), it’s a small fraction and not at all long enough to decide to give it away to someone else. I would understand if I hadn’t shown up maybe 7hr into my reservation time, that’s different. My move was delayed for circumstances completely out of my control because the sale of the house, and I had to handle them before getting started with the move. Am I seriously supposed to believe I’m the only one to ever have that happen? And U-Haul doesn’t understand that moving can be complicated and just allows the website to show my truck as available to whoever passes by? I didn’t even get a phone call asking where I was or if I still intended to use the truck. U-Haul should never had shown it available, and the location should never have considered it. If I had been any later, I don’t doubt they would have given the truck away, I was literally in front of the person who asked for it because they had to come back. The location was rude and disrespectful, and the entire mobile checkin process in which “all I need is a phone” is completely false as well. I needed a card and my ID, which I already supplied online when I made the reservation in the first place. It made the whole long process even longer, and when you’re moving and already delayed, and you’ve got guys offering their limited help and time, I’m not okay with having that reflect poorly on me for something that isn’t my fault. Both U-Haul and this location needs work, and should I ever have the misfortune of dealing with a move again, I wouldn’t be opposed to considering other options.

The staff here was very friendly. The equipment I rented was well kept and clean. I highly recommend this rental location and I will be renting here again.

Needed a 15' box trick last minute and they were able to accommodate. I appreciate them being able to work with me since I was running behind schedule to pick up. Easy and straightforward check out process

Did not have hitches available, had to go elsewhere. Staff was not helpful when asking advise on securing Harley in trailer. Trailer was full of debris, had to request that trailer was swept out before loading bike. Would not recommend this UHAUL location.

I have been waiting for 45 min for a truck I scheduled three weeks ago. Why you would only have one person working behind the counter is beyond me. I will definitely not be wasting my time here again.

I was sent to this location because they had the 4x8 I needed. I got there and was created by Kaylee, she was nice and personable. The owner was around but never greated me no big deal. Kaylee checked me out and sent me back to get my trailer around back and I was good to go. I got back there and found the trailer but the product number and hooked it up. The lights didn't work, after inspecting all conections and wiering I went inside to tell them Kaylee was assisting some others but still asked me if everything was ok. When I told her the lights didn't work she referred me to the older guy there. He told me "it must be your truck cause it worked when the last people dropped it off." I told there was no way because it was just installed yesterday. To which he uprutly told me "don't matter" then agent back to what he was doing leaving me standing there. I replied to deaf ears that I was double check my fuse. Which were fine. I called Uhaul at Greenbrier and spoke with Autuum who imedietly was able to help me get a new larger trailer at another location at no extra cost.

Worst U-Haul Ever! I've rented U-Haul equipment numerous times from dealers around Hampton Roads. Had some good experiences and some bad. This location was the worse by far! To start with the guy working behind the counter did not really greet me. If I didn't start talking I don't think he would have ever opened his mouth. Second, he had a paper printed out with an American flag taped to the counter. Next to it was an anti-government email he printed out. (Really? Politics in a business?) We filled out the rental agreement then he asks which of the insurance options was I going to take as if "no insurance" was not an option. I told him I wasn't taking insurance and he made a big deal about it. He said, "that means YOU pay...regardless of who's at fault". I told him I knew that. He said, "well, then you have to go out and do and inspection of the trailer to identify what you don't want to pay for." I did the inspection (I actually identified the whole rust-bucket trailer as dented and dinged). He then told me I had to hook up the trailer then drive up front for him to inspect. I hooked it up...then unhooked it. The lights didn't work on the trailer. I went back inside and told him to cancel it. When I told him the lights didn't work he said, "they worked the last time I checked". I don't know who the guy was I dealt with. Maybe he was the owner. And yes, he has a right to run a crappy business if he pleases. I'll never go there again (neither will any of my friends and neighbors). So much for supporting the local businesses.
