Theresa (over the phone) and Paul (in-person)from the Chester location helped me immensely today. I had been smelling a faint gas smell for the last few weeks and was becoming concerned that there may be a leak. I called Suburban Propane today and spoke with Theresa who helped not only get a tech out to my home to investigate and refill my tank, and help educate me on what might be going on, but also my anxiety with the situation with her calm and friendly personality. When Paul arrived at my home to help me, he filled the tank, checked the line for leaks (thankfully there were none), and educated me on what was happening, why I was smelling gas vapor, and how to prevent the issue in future. He even helped me relight my water heater pilot light because I was having difficulty getting it relit.
This has been the best service I have ever received from a utility company, if not the best service I have ever received period. Thank you so much Theresa, Paul, and the rest of the Suburban Propane team!

We have been dealing with Suburban for many years and have been extreamly satisfied. During the last BIG snow we ran into problems. We called to get a delivery & were told it would but it was not for several weeks. Then we ran out pf propane and it still took several days. During this process I was told because of the problems we would get a $25.00 credit on our account and when the fuel was delivered it would be at a discount price but it was not. We don't believe this is the proper way to do business.

We just received notice of the $25.00 credit. We do not know if we received a discount on the fuel.

I have been a customer since 1988, without a single problem. About a week ago, I looked at the Guage on my tank, and read it wrong. Called customer service got Katrina, wonderful lady, told her I was low on propane, she did everything she could to get the tank filled pronto. All of Suburban Propane's employees are the best. Even though I created an unnecessary situation they were great. Thank you, and sorry.

We had a delivery scheduled in February that was supposed to be on or before the 17th. We were very low on gas and during the week of February 10 we had an ice storm. We were sitting in the house which was getting colder because we were using our gas sparingly, when up, pulled our Suburban Propane driver. He came out in the ice storm to fill our tank so we had heat. I call that service above and beyond thank you so much.

I have been a customer of the Chester Virginia location for many many years. Today I called because my son smelled propane outside at the tank when he turned it on for our gas logs. Brian came out within just a few minutes to run some tests and he found the leak and fixed it within minutes. He also offered to light our pilot light. He was an absolute hero today and I am very happy with our service!

Rude and unhelpful employees and poorly managed. I scheduled a tank pick up in October because it was in the way of an addition we were planning to start at the beginning of the year. The tank pick up was scheduled for November 12th.. When I made a pre construction site visit last week I saw that the tank had not been picked up. I called suburban propane to remind them that the tank has not been picked up and that we will be starting the addition at the end of the week (over two months after the scheduled pick up date). The tank location does not prevent us from building the addition, but It will be significantly more difficult to pick up once the foundation is in place. I let them know that we were starting work in a few days and that it would be best for them to get the tank before work started. I was told that it will be two weeks before they can pick up the tank. When I let them know that this was just a curtesy call on my part and that the addition would start regardless they began threatening to charge the the client for the tank.

Edit: Suburban was very quick to respond and fix the damage. It is my understanding that there was a driver issue and has since been corrected. They seemed to share my frustration. I'm still anxiously awaiting my next service date hoping that this doesn't happen again []
Original: Beyond frustrated with Suburban Propane from day 1. Started off with them not showing up on scheduled date AND causing serious property damage... not once but TWICE. We've been in contact w the operations manager who said they would fix it and also sent pictures of the property damage... but this was back in January. So 5 months no response and we still have property damage. I can't recommend Suburban Propane bc they can't seem to follow thru or own up to their mistakes.

I was very pleased with the interaction between their billing office and myself. They answered all of my questions and let me know that since my parent was elderly, they were entitled to a senior rate. I truly appreciated their kindness and assistance. ?
