  I asked a teller if I could have a cash envelope. This should have been a simple request that took 10 seconds. Instead I was asked if I was a member (no), who I bank with (I prefer not to share as they have no need to have that info) and then told I could open an account. I said I would never be interested in opening an account there as I only use credit unions. At no point did I say anything insulting toward the teller, raise my voice with her or act rude in any way. I merely expressed that I would not be interested in using this bank. The second teller working there took a huge attitude with me and started telling me how rude I was being especially considering they were doing me the “huge favor” of handing me an envelope when I’m not a member (eye roll). An envelope that the corporation that owns this bank probably buys in bulk for three cents apiece and personally cost this teller absolutely nothing. Neither of them are owners of this bank so why should the opinion of a stranger affect them so personally that they need to become rude? If your skin is that thin, you shouldn’t be in the customer service business to begin with. The second teller was shouting at me as I walked away. Congratulations, you just confirmed my opinion of your bank. Nice work, ladies. Have the day you deserve. (P.S. Bank was completely empty when I walked in and both tellers were standing around doing nothing, so it’s not like me asking for an envelope was diverting attention away from anyone else or any other tasks.)
