I called the Hillcrest and made reservations for dinner for 4. The food was out of this world. The service was the excellent. When the door was opened by the butler, you feel like you are at home. Everyone should eat at Hillcrest. It's an experience you won't forget. A great experience.

Martha hosted my family at Hillcrest Mansion Inn for a Father’s Day Sunday brunch, and it was a truly special experience. The setting is absolutely beautiful—full of historic charm and peaceful views. Martha and her parents were such gracious and welcoming hosts, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The food was incredible, thoughtfully prepared, and served with care. It was the perfect way to celebrate Father’s Day. Highly recommend reaching out to Martha for any special occasion - you won't be disappointed!

It was incredible at the Hillcrest. Martha and her family were so lovely and cared for us immensely. We were lucky to be there for the night when there were no other guests in the mansion, so we had the entire place to ourselves, and all of Martha's incredible hospitality. She whipped us up an incredible three course dinner at a moment's notice, and the breakfast the next morning was divine. We were in no rush and spent a good three or so hours enjoying the breakfast and chatting to her wonderful parents - we only wish we could have stayed longer! Then there is the house itself, which was so beautiful and exactly the type of quintessential American place we were looking for as two Brits. Thank you so much to Martha and her parents for the best ever stay, we will always remember it, and we hope to go back one day!

Our 54th anniversary trip this year was topped off with a real hidden cherry. It was our fourth try with a Bed and Breakfast. This one is 5 stars all the way. The location could not have been better – high on a hill with a view of the mountains in front of you. The only thing missing was the fall colors; we were a little early for those. A large wrap around porch with seating to enjoy the views and a nice breeze to top it off. Where? The historic Hillcrest Mansion Inn in Clifton Forge, VA, which was built in 1910 and is featured in a national publication, Tea Time Magazine.
We were warmly greeted by the owner’s mother and daughter and given a tour. The mansion is beautifully decorated with period furniture. Our room had a walk-in shower with modern conveniences (2 shower heads) and everything needed for our stay. The bed was high, but stools were provided for both sides; plenty of seating in the room, which we like; water and treats as well.
They offer coffee or tea to your room in the morning and a delightful 3 course breakfast. The breakfast is pleasing not only to the tastebuds, but also to the eye. The table is set with fine China and linens. We have never been treated to such a delightful breakfast anywhere we have ever been. The coffee they serve is from local business. My husband says it beats Starbucks hands down. The owner is a true chef, and to top it off the parents served in black tie. What a treat.
In all respects we give them five stars. We look forward to visiting again when the leaves are in full color and at Christmas to see the mansion in its full glory. You will be treated as special guests but better than that as friends. Our stay was September 2024.

The historic inn is lovely and has beautiful views. Martha Crawford and her family are warm and welcoming hosts who genuinely care about their guests. Personal preferences are catered to beautifully. It is unequaled in the region. I have stayed several times and each time tried a different room. All most comfortable with luxurious bedding and pillows I still think about. Looking forward to next visit later this year!

5 Star stay!! Martha is truly a master of her craft. Every single detail was thought of! We paid extra for dinner and oh. my. goodness. Some of the best food my husband and I have ever had. Martha asked us our preferences and created a bespoke 6-course meal for us. We loved exploring the grounds and relaxing in the house. A lovely place for a romantic getaway!
Rooms: The rooms were incredible comfortable and quiet. Thoughtfully decorated with books and artwork. The bathrooms were modern and comfortable.
Safety: The house was set high on a hill in a nice part of town. I felt totally safe both in the house and exploring the grounds.
Food & drinks: All of the food Martha made was incredible! We enjoyed getting to know the other guests over breakfast.
Noteworthy details: We travelled with another couple and their 2 y/o kiddo! Martha doted on her and the whole place was very child friendly.

Wonderful customer service! Martha is an absolute delight and the inn is such a beautiful property! The property even has a Tesla charger, which was extremely convenient!

Our son got married October 28th in the Clifton Forge area and we rented the entire house for him and his groomsmen. From the time of booking until they checked out, Martha was wonderful to deal with and went above and beyond. The house is meticulously maintained. The grounds and interior of the home are stunning! The views spectacular!! Martha had it tastefully decorated for Fall & Halloween. So many special touches! The hospitality she, along with her mom & dad provided was warm and welcoming. She is an amazing chef! I can't say enough positive things about the Hillcrest Mansion Inn & Martha. I highly recommend it!

I’ve been to Hillcrest Mansion Inn several times, and it does not disappoint! Martha and her family are excellent hosts, the Inn’s rooms are amazing and beautifully decorated, and the food is to die for! Our most recent trip was for tea - for courses of deliciousness, but we’ve been many times, stayed, and had decadent dinners and amazing breakfasts! This is a one-of-a-kind five star experience that everyone should try!

What a unique experience we had this past weekend! My mom, my 8 month old son, and myself all stayed at Martha’s beautiful B&B last night into this morning. She had pound cake waiting for us when we arrived in the evening and provided a basket of snacks and fresh water in our room. At 0600 she made sure to have coffee, cream, and sugar waiting for us in the upstairs sitting area where all of the rooms are located. The room felt very private, even with another guest staying along with us. We then went down for breakfast around 0800, which included a delicious 3 course experience, endless coffee, and OJ! The portions were very generous and everything was so thoughtfully made. She makes sure to ask what time you’d like coffee and breakfast and ensures that no one has any allergies and/or preferences. She accommodated my 8 month old so well. He got his own little plate of food as well as a high chair. The view from the front porch looks like a picture on a post card. Can’t wait to return!
