This post is for all Giants but because I observed the lack of security measures at the Clifton location, I am posting under the Clifton store. Giants plan to minimize retail theft is horrible. They really need to hire a consulting company who can direct them on security. What Giant has done is made the check out process for all customers a pain in the butt. The system just doesn’t work and Giant has made all customers pay the price for a few bad actors. I saw this week, a man load up his cart with meat and just walk out the store without paying. No one did a thing. I also saw a man eating directly from the chicken wing cart. Employees saw him but said nothing. Giants retail theft issues are not with the registers, they are with people walking out the store without even going through a register. Giant likes to complain about retail theft and uses it as an excuse to raise prices but they aren’t serious about deterring it. They just increase prices and make the honest people pay for Giants incompetence to handle the retail theft. Maybe you should hire a armed security guard to be stationed at the exit. It will pay for itself. Then stop complaining and passing off the price increases to your paying customers

Love Giant Food on St. Germaine in centreville, VA!! All the employees are very nice and helpful. Will help you find anything you need and always have top quality food that they make in house.!! ♥️?. Love u all!

The black african male new manager is unbelievably rude and acts up to show he has authority on matters, this needs to be taken care of or this giant looses customers because of this egostic maniac! Doesn't even deserves one star!

This location seems to be getting worse, they even closed off an exit so now you can only go in and out on one side. Every time you might have to ask an employee for assistance it’s always some type of inconvenience this place is tired.

I'll sadly no longer be shopping here because of the recent changes to their self checkout systems. If you bag shifts even slightly then the checkout completely shuts down until a worker comes over and watches a video of you scanning your items.I get wanting to combat theft, but if you make all your customers feel like thieves then they'll just shop elsewhere

This location seems to be getting worse and worse every week. The self checkout area is a pain if you need any assistance whatsoever they have to call a manager as the people working in that section have no authority for price overrides or things of the sort

I went here with 6years old girl for the grocery shopping. The old man named “Rob” of self check out. He was very offensive in his way. He looked at my child &me like a bug. I accidentally pressed cash instead of card but he was very angry. It appears that there is no staff training. I visited twice in this week and felt his rude behavior both times. This seems to be a problem for him. I’ll never go again here.

The Union Mill Giant is the closest Giant to where I live. I have shopped there regularly since the day it opened.Many store managers have come and gone. One of the current managers, Kenneth, is the most outstanding by far.Here’s why; he’s on the floor consistently greeting customers, providing assistance as needed, projecting a warm persona which has spread to all the employees I encounter, and he is very concerned about the safety of all employees and customers in the store. He also keeps an eagle eye out at all times for any suspicious activity. There are some grocery stores I no longer frequent due to a feeling of lack of safety. Not so at this store.Additionally, the store is always clean, well stocked with a vast variety of choices, giving me a pleasant experience start to finish.I am very impressed with the professional manner and diligence of store manager, Kenneth as well as all employees who work with him.

I would like to commend this store for always presenting food in a fresh, clean and organized manner. . I would also like to thank the manager, Ken, for his attentiveness to detail and positive attitude when interacting with customers. He is very visible and always on the floor helping the employees. I respect that in a manager. He also worked very hard with our school program to assist us in picking up donated food for the local church bank. Due to his kindness and coordination we were able to take donated food and feed hundreds of families in our community. Thank you. Tammy B. FCPS teacher

The store has begun a campaign to cut down on theft, but it leads to more inconvenience for the customer. I used to shop at giant 5 times a week. It's a 3 minute walk from my house. But they have closed off an entire side of the building to entry and begun the weighted bagging area which slows down scanning. Not only are they inconvenience customers, they are actively price gouging. Prices are well beyond the rate of inflation. I now drive 30 minutes to Food Lion because we save over $100 on a weekly shop. Instead of inconvenience customers, they should invest more funds into hiring more loss prevention and security to protect their products. So disappointed they chose to inconvenience customers

Giant is a great alternative than Walmart especially when you buy one get one free and points for Shell gas, earned items or store money off with the Giant app.Thank you Giant, Highly recommend and we will come again.

The staff here are always very kind, but they closed one set of doors due to theft and it's incredibly inconvenient. I feel like hiring more people would be a better way to handle this issue than inconveniencing every customer.

Took the self checkout employee like 20 minutes to help me. I’m pretty sure he was high or under the influence, as he bounced around, covered his face, spoke very hyper, etc. couldn’t even stand to close since I smelt it and he moved irradically. Maybe watch your young employees

So - Giant at Union Mill decided to close one of their entrances (because of theft), ok whatever. The self check out has "updated" their system to apparently "ways to frustrate the customer" even more! Every single person who was in self checkout had to call an employee to adjust the register because as you bag your groceries apparently the machine would not recognize the items on the bagging area and constantly demanded you "place your item in the bagging area" (even though you did) and would not let you continue to scan additional items. Bye Bye Giant. Walmart has self check out and it's a breeze.The only reason I gave it even 1 star is because it wouldn't post unless I did. 0 stars!
