Unfortunately I've just had the nastiest experience with a postal employee ever at this post office. This woman was berating me to another customer and threatened me because I tried to get less change. My bill was $4.15, I gave her $5.15 so I could just get a dollar back. Easy right? Well all she had was nickels so I said, I'll take my fifteen cents back and that way you only owe me eighty five cents.
She looked at me like I was crazy and told me she was still going to give me back my dollar in nickels.
I told her this was unnecessary and she caught an attitude right back. I said I was going to complain and she started talking about me to a customer in line. Overhearing this, I stopped walking and asked if we needed to talk about this and she threatened to call the police on me if I didn't leave.
I usually enjoy this post office and most of the employees are great people. I do not under the hostility I was just confronted with all over simple math. I really don't want to be nasty or petty but I sure will match whatever nastiness is thrown at me. That escalated very quickly and it's a shame I can't have a simple transaction at my neighhood post office without some kind of altercation because someone is having a bad day at work. I'm sorry there's a shortage of everything, it's no my fault. Now I'm concerned about my mail! What kind of crazy people are they hiring if they're going to snap like that? All because I asked for less change?

The people at this location are awesome but calling the number is pointless if you want to talk to someone at this location. They’re automated system is really annoying.

Surprisingly, I haven't done a review of this post office yet even though we had a beach house in Colonial Beach for years! Although this brick building is rather plain and is designed like a simple, large rectangle, it has a nice well kept parking lot and inside it's tidy. One service not frequently found in these smaller town post offices is passport service, but Colonial Beach post office offers it! Pretty cool! It's on a corner so there's one entrance and one exit, with a drop mailbox at the exit point. The counter was pretty well stocked. All in all a nice, average post office, but nothing to "write home" about. I've always had pleasant, reliable service here. The staff is friendly and helpful. Hours M-F 9:30-1:00. 2:00-4:30 Sat 9:30-1

So many people complain for the dumbest reasons. It's not usps' fault ur neighbor is a thief, call the authorities. It's not usps' fault FedEx misdelivered ur package & u don't know the difference. Mistakes do happen, but do the math. Say each carrier has 1k boxes, 1 misdelivered letter sounds better than any static I've ever seen.

Lazy and inconsiderate! Very poor service! They will leave packages by the foot of the mailbox because the package will not fit in the mailbox and they cant drive to the front of the house to leave the packages there. Is it really that inconvenient for you to drive an extra minute to make sure the packages get to the person? Instead, you are leaving the packages outside the mailbox, exposed to anyone who can steal them. Need a lot of improvement and training.

Delivery drivers are amazing! Always say hello with a smile and go the little extra way to make sure you've gotten the correct mail. Mailing packages in person is a breeze also. The employees are always kind and considerate while working as efficiently as they can to keep up with demands.
