Terrible experience. Its as if the vet sees dollar signs instead of my beloved pet. Go to another local vet that has compassion. Not this dude.

Dr. Mann and his staff are saints. I cannot say enough nice things about this practice. They are true animal lovers. Dr. Mann puts so much thought and attention on the animals. He really considers everything and never rushes an appointment. He takes time to really connect with the animal so that they feel comfortable. He checked in with us regularly and was on call for emergencies. It's clear how much he truly cares.
Kramer was in so much pain and discomfort when we first brought him in 6 weeks ago. He had a UTI, heart and kidney failure, and the Fairlea Animal hospital, who had not tested his urine, gave him the wrong antibiotic for the infection. He was really straining to urinate for so long and it was just heartbreaking to watch. Dr. Mann identified the problem right away and got him on the right antibiotic. The acupuncture treatments were also tremendously helpful.
Kramer passed just a few days ago (it was his time), and Dr. Mann did everything he could for him in the meantime. We appreciated that he did not simply treat him like a lost cause, even with multiple organ failure. By the end, he was so much more comfortable and at peace because of his care. We ended up having a very positive experience with his passing (as positive as losing a pet can be). Euthanasia is one of the hardest decisions anyone can make for their pet, but I truly think it is the animals that actually guide the decision, not us. Dr. Mann never gave up on Kramer, but was there to support and validate that choice when it was time. He was on call for us last weekend, and went out of his way to come to our home on a Sunday. It made such a huge difference, because we were comfortable in our backyard and got to sit with him for as long as we wanted afterwards. Dr. Mann was was so compassionate, and handled everything just perfectly. He really was a godsend. We are eternally grateful.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I could not be happier with my experience. It was a pleasure to see Dr. Mann work with my little guy. He got him in right away as it was an emergency to us. He spent so much time checking him out and learning about his history. So he really knows my dog now. He has made me a repeat customer and my animals primary care giver from this point forward.

In regards to these recent one star reviews, they are bogus. Dr. Mann is one of the best and most compassionate vets out there. He does everything he can to help as many animals as possible. However, he is not omnipotent. Schedules get booked and days get hectic. Remember, he is the only vet at this practice. As unfortunate as it is, it’s impossible to see every patient and be available for every emergency. It’s certainly NOT because Dr. Mann is uncaring! Do you go to a primary care physician when you have an emergency? I doubt it. So please keep these things in mind. That is why the veterinary emergency clinic in Roanoke— which has all the resources needed to take care of many sick and injured pets—exists. Dr. Mann’s clientele is his priority, and I wouldn’t trust any other vets around here with my animals like I do him.

We have been bringing dogs to Dr. Mann for over 20 years (8) in total - we have been completely satisfied with the care they have received, and the exceptional professionalism and compassion of the entire staff at JRVC.

I was told they wouldn't see a dog that was dying. My best friends dog she called my crying. Do not bring your pets here if you care for their health or life

Absolutely horrible news. They will not work in our babies even if they are dying. Please my friend is in so much pain and her baby dog.

Takes their time with each pet/family. Takes in only one family at a time.

Took my female pattie in and he figured out that the past vet misdiagnosed her and figured out the real problem she's been suffering from. I think that I have found the right veterinarian for my animals. Most veterinarian's in the area are scared of pittbulls he was cautious at first but Neaveh changed his mind quickly. Thanks again Dr Mann the rest of my pack will follow.
