I love Grit Coffee but especially the Old Trail location. All of the baristas are personable and friendly, especially Nic. It’s super snowy today and Nic was there making lattes and running the shop solo.I’m happy to go to Grit any day but today especially with the snow. Thanks for saving us coffee fiends today, Nic!

The Crozet location is perfect for a quick stop, or a nice spot to post up for a while. Plenty of seating inside and out. They even have a kid corner for your little ones to play in. Plenty of parking, high speed internet, places to charge your laptop. 5 stars!

I don’t normally leave bad reviews, but this was pretty bad.Came in when there were zero other customers and ordered coffee and two sausage & egg sandwiches.Coffee was good. But we waited 30 minutes and never got our sandwiches. Even after reminding the staff. In the meantime, we watched at least 20-30 other customers come in and get their stuff and leave — food included. After watching a mom and her four kids all get their food, we got tired of waiting for what’s ultimately a re-heated sandwich, asked for them to refund (which they did and apologized), and just left.If you’re coming here to get some work done as well, check elsewhere as the internet was pretty slow (at least on that day).

Really nice place. I only ordered coffee this time which was tasty but would love to try more food options next time. Nice people working behind the counter. Good options.

Great little coffee place. Cozy atmosphere, friendly and helpful barista. Excellent location. Coffee has always been great, but I have given up coffee for the foreseeable future. I usually drink matcha instead now. I tried Grit’s iced matcha latte and it wasn’t very good quality. It looked very dull instead of bright green. It also didn’t taste much like matcha, enough wasn’t used and it tasted more like milk. For the price, I feel ceremonial grade matcha should be used and in a high enough concentration. I highly recommend Grit for their regular coffee menu.

Very nice atmosphere and wholesome staff. Would be great if they had an irish oatmeal option to have in the morning. But the food items they have are good.

Nice shop. Coffee isn’t bad. I got a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit. The flavor was good, but the whole middle section was still cold. Cold egg and sausage really isn’t very appetizing, so a 1/3 of the sandwich went in the trash.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. There were very limited options for food. I ordered a decaf and they filled it from the insulated caraf. Filled the cup perfectly, but after walking out and taking a sip it was cold..I find that often when ordering a decaf mid am from coffee shops. This shop reminds you a bit like a Starbucks, but independant

The staff was friendly but they need to improve on cleaning. The table and floor were sticky and the bathroom was so dirty.

$$$$$ Expensive. Highest price I ever paid for a medium Latte with extra shot skim milk $8.50+. Out of menu items and day old pastries. Baristas are not trained and produced a watery Latte. Barista soggied and hand slimed my drink as they struggled to put a lid on my coffee cup. I need my coffee so I drank 1/2 the Latte driving to Mudhouse. It's tough to watch a place go out of business. But, hopeful for new management.

Coffee drinks can be a bit inconsistent at times. George makes the best drinks. Fruit smoothies are freshly made. Pastries can sell out quickly in the morning. Ample seating indoors and outside. Ambient noise levels are low indoors.Vegetarian options: Baked goods have vegetarian and vegan options. Non-dairy milks are available on request.Kid-friendliness: Kid play area and several non-caffinated options for drinks. Juice boxes usually available.

Made the mistake of going to Mudhouse, got a large and it was only 16oz and tasted burnt and nasty. Called Grit after learning they existed and dude replaced one of my coffees for one of their mediums, which was the same as Mudhouse’s Large, and lemme tell you. Delicious coffee. People were all smiles and happy. Food looked great. I was so happy I bought another coffee for good measure. This is the spot y’all! Only spot for coffee in crozet! Don’t miss out!
