We rolled in on Motorcycles with no reservation, needing a place to stay. After calling several places, we talked to Jill. She was very nice, providing us access codes via text messages. The place is amazing. 6 separate bedroom/baths with an open space common area with couches, chairs, and a double kitchen and giant island bar for socializing. It was raining this morning and Jill even tried to get us a ride to the diner so we wouldn't get wet. Perfect place for a group outing. Already planning a return with our friends.

Amazing views of the creek with several gas fireplaces and rocking chairs in the deck!! We loved it! Great value! Nice comfy and very clean room with plenty of space. We enjoyed our 1 night here after doing the VA creeper trail. Jill the manager or owner was beyond helpful too! I thought I lost my phone and she was so sweet to help me try to find it. If you’re looking for a great place to stay right off the trail this is a good choice - it’s not run down and it’s super well kept!

Great space for our large family! Would recommend for stay. Note it has stairs to get to building, not handicap accessible. We had non hikers with us that could have used a first floor

Jill found a spot for me at the lodge at the last minute, as a tornado watch was descending on the region, offering me a place to stay off the trail for two nights. My room was beautifully appointed, and the kitchen, living area, and laundry room were fantastic. Convenient to the Food City supermarket and the AT. I was extremely lucky to enjoy my rest break here and to have such a very kind hostess.

The Creeper Trail Lodge is a great place to stay, as long as you don’t need to take a shower or bath. My wife and I “checked in” to the lodge on Thursday (7/9), only to find there was no water pressure in our room. Jill told us the city had been doing some water line work and that pressure had been intermittent recently, but she would look into it while we went to dinner. Upon our return from dinner, there may have been a slight improvement in the pressure. However, there was no hot water. Again, we spoke with Jill to let her know that we still had very little water pressure AND NO HOT WATER. Upon returning from our bike ride from Damascus to Abingdon, we were both ready for a nice, relaxing, hot shower. Unfortunately, there was still very little water pressure and no hot water. Once again, we spoke with Jill to inform her of the situation and confirm whether or not anyone had even been out to check the problem. In the meantime, we found that one of the other rooms (we had reserved two others for friends that were on their way) had hot water and so we used it to take our showers. After doing so, we called Jill back to let her know there was now no urgency in resolving our problem, as we had just used one of the other rooms and were checking out the next morning anyway. At that time, we asked for some sort of discount for not having water pressure and not having hot water in our room. She was going to check with the owners and let us know. We had not heard from her, so later that evening I called to inquire of the decision from her owners. She said she was told that since the lack of water pressure and hot water were caused by the city (or water company), the lodge owners were not liable for those problems and therefore, they would provide no reimbursement for those deficiencies. I asked that she have one of the owners call me so that we could better discuss this poor excuse for not providing what we had paid for. Needless to say, I have yet to hear from anyone. I am hoping this writeup will prompt the owners to do the right thing and reimburse my wife and I for our troubles. If not, I hope it will let others know they would be better off staying somewhere else if they want to know they will get what they pay for.

Beautiful lodge, clean and friendly staff. Our family of 5 (3 kids) came in one Friday evening. We walked into the front door to be welcomed by a room full of people lounging in the living area and cooking in the kitchen. They were friendly guests but it just took us off guard. It felt like we were walking into someone else’s home as we were walking to our room, 202, just off to the side of the living area below the stair case. It seemed a little crowded for our preference, however, the next day most of the guest left. Even though it was out of our comfort zone we managed just fine and had no problems. We were a little afraid to speak in normal voices or turn the tv on when we got in late later that night because the rooms are so close together and we didn’t want to disturb anyone. I was expecting long hallways in between rooms. The website doesn’t give the best description for set up. Though I did see from website it has a shared kitchen and community area. I just didn’t realize how close the rooms were to each other. It was awkward for a backwards mountain family like us lol. I posted a picture that hopefully will give you a better idea of the Lodge’s layout so you can decide if this would fit your lodging preferences.

This place blew us all away. The rooms are HUGE and they open to a large common area with a stocked kitchen and lounge area. The place has a large deck with chairs and tables along with a firepit and two grills for cooking steaks purchased at the grocery store just down the road. It was super clean and the owners were friendly and helpful. I'm totally impressed and plan to come back.

My husband, daughter and I stayed 2 nights and rode the Virginia Creeper Trail from Whitetop to Damascas. The lodge is fairly priced. The outer appearance is very clean and neat however does not prepare you for how beautiful the interior is. It is extremely well kept and clean. Our room was spacious. Our only complaint was one of the beds in our room. It had a horrible dip right in the middle which made for a pretty uncomfortable nights sleep. Outside of the issue with the bed it was a nice place to stay. I only gave a 3 out of 5 solely because of the bed situation. After spending hours on the trail and already being sore from the ride itself you really dont want to sleep on an uncomfortable bed and wake up with a crink in your neck. Also a hot tub would be a great addition
