KILLERS!!!! me and my husband went to adopt a puppy. we filled out the application and waited then had to have a meeting with the Director that lady is a monster, all the staff truly are. they don’t care about the animals at all. it’s all money and killing innocent animals for them. we did a meet and greet with the pup. we ended up bringing our dogs the moment we walked in the door we knew they was judging us. anyways they brought the dog in the room with our dogs all was leashed at this time so was the pup, the lady threw toys out the box without asking which was incredibly wrong because they don’t know how our dogs would act. my dogs obviously included the pup into the pack straight away, they was all fine playing without toys and on leashes, when the lady threw toys my dog of course wanted to play ( he is a bully he plays rough) i tripped on a toy and went down no big deal but it scared my dog that was holding on a leash while the worker let the pup go off leash and i of course know my dog very will around toys , i personally made sure my dog couldn’t bite or scratch anyone because he was already scared, they lied on my dog saying he bite the pup which is a complete lie if the lady would of saw that she should of picked up the dog right away but she didn’t she let them play again making it worse. then when she was done and tired she grabbed the dog and yacked the poor pup back to the crate . Let’s just be honest this place is horrible and the Director herself should get the needle because you lying on peoples dogs because you want to kill innocent dogs and cats is not cool in the slightest. but that’s OK. I went back to the shelter I used to work with and I adopt That was bound to get put down that day. If it was not adopted, he is settling in just fine

I wish I could leave no stars I can appreciate the process of trying to find an animal a good home but this is a little extreme not only did you lie on my dogs but your staff is not trained on meet and greet procedures for dogs and me and my wife felt judged from the moment we started an application you said my dog had attacked another dog which was a lie and I had seen the reaction of the staff when I came in to do a meet and greet with the dogs I already have I do not appreciate being lied to and I feel like the coordinator should not even be there if she does not know anything about animals it would be better if the process was a little bit easier for everyone and that staff took in consideration on what was best for the dogs instead of their personal feelings I plan on also filing a complaint with the city of Danville the coordinator should feel ashamed about herself

cats went missing from thereit hasn’t even been that long since someone dropped them off.. Nov 30th missing then came to get them 12/04/2023 i visited there no one claims to have seen them when they had told me they have them and to come monday in which i did and the cats are gone and they switch their words up and say they never seen them when they even stated the name of the person who took them. Half explanations =Mental Confusion about your pet/s! Not helpful attitude seemed like I was bothering their day, dog all seem extremely unhappy there and like they are caged up all day, no escort to show you around or let you go in the rooms. AVOID HERE AT ALL COSTS! I HEARD THEY KILL ANIMALS HERE TOO SHUT THEM DOWN STOP EUTHANIZING ANIMALS

Our experience here was wonderful. We adopted 2 very bonded dogs about a year and a half ago. The director and every staff member that we met were pleasant and helpful.

I am so thankful to have a shelter in place for these animals. The shelter keeps the facilities clean and well stocked. Everyone has been extremely helpful and friendly every time we have been to visit.

It’s a long read!!! I am never one to leave a review I have actually never left one. But anyway here is our story on trying to adopt a dog. We went to look at dogs to adopt on 9-9-23 and we FELL IN LOVE with a dog he was supposed to be one years old he was a corgi – dachshund mix so we asked all the questions and decided to put our application in for him every thing went fine they told us to call back in 2 days so we called back and they told us to call back in another to days and we did And they asked us to come in to have a meeting with the Director they didn’t tell us what for but anyway we went to the meeting she asked us all the normal questions and then asked if our dog was neutered (he is not) she asked us why and we explained he is a house dog so there is no way for him to get a dog pregnant and it has never been a problem for him (she did not like that) so she told us that it’s “not her decision” it has to go before a Committee because our dog has not been neutered and because I’m 19 (witch Is understandable) so we said that is fine no big deal. After the meeting we ask if we can go back and see the dog before we leave and ofc she said yes so we go back there and i look at his card on the cage and it now says he is 3 years old and has pneumonia and kennel cough and that he is not eating so ofc we ask about it and she tells us that the dog has been at this Shelter before he was a re-surrender so obviously we ask why and she told us that the people who adopt him took him to a vet and were told he had lung cancer so they brought him back and they took him to the vet and it. Magically Disappeared….. 1 why were we not told about this from the beginning!!!! She told us she doesn’t know why it says on his card that he is sick she had no idea…….. PLEASE make it make sense!!! Mind you this is the DIRECTOR. She told us to call back in 2 days to see what the Committee will say so we called and got told to call back the next day. We call back and she explains that the Committee doesn’t like that our dog is not neutered and that he doesn’t have his flu vaccine his covid vaccine and his Bordetella shot all unnecessary(he is up to date on everything else). So she explains that the committee will only let me adopt the dog if we get all of the vaccines they want and have him neutered. So moral of the story is don’t ever try to adopt a dog from them. The director should not have that Job at all she is the worst!!!!!!

IF YOU WANT YOUR DOG TO HAVE A CHANCE TO BE ADOPTED, LOOK ELSEWHERE. THIS SHELTER WILL KILL THEM WITHOUT A SECOND THOUGHT. A friend dropped her dog off last week (7/24/23) because they were moving and couldnt take her. I had intentions of adopting her by the end of august when I move into a house (couldn't take her while in an apartment). I called to see if she had been adopted and, if not, I could begin the process of adoption...come to find out they euthanized her NOT EVEN A WEEK AFTER BEING PLACED THERE. Do NOT put your dog here if you care about them AT ALL. They do not care to give these animals a chance--not even a shot. Not even a week. Not a chance for anyone to call. If I had known, I would've gotten her out the next day and she could've stayed with someone temporarily until i could take her. But no. They didn't even give Ella a chance--just decided to kill her after a mere FEW days of her being here. This is a TERRIBLE shelter and obviously does not care for any of these animals. If you cannot take care of your dog any longer...please PLEASE exhaust all other options before putting them in a shelter. And if that is not a possibility, then look for a no-kill shelter or AT LEAST one that will give the dog longer than a WEEK to be adopted. We are upset and grieving and anyone employed at this place should be ASHAMED. R.I.P. Ella girl ?

REMI I had called Rayne , was welcomed in after a phone call to assure they had a spot for her. They dont turn any animal away. Tho we'll missed she was too much to handle, for me being on my truck all day but she is a sweet girl, and even knows commands like sit with a morsel in hand and she loves head rubs while you speak to her or wash her face ... she will make a great family pet.. sure miss her.

First time going here. So I got my sister to tag along. People at front desk not very friendly or informative. I was trying to ask questions about a puppy. Never got a answer. Got ready to leave told me I was 3rd inline for that puppy. I did pick 3 out. But I didn't call back to see if I was awarded the adoption. Because I felt I was going to be taken someone else's puppy. Sorry
