Attended the holiday Illuminations light show. While the music is at a consistent quality across the years, the lights, extent, and controllers are continuing to get more and more ambitious. It's very impressive.
The venue, the Meadow Event Park, is spacious and beautifully kempt. The spaces are wide open, the grass is a healthy green even in winter, and the roadways are extremely smooth. The staff is generally customer-focused and good at solving problems. The facilities seem to be undergoing some renovation, which is necessary for the older buildings.

We were disappointed with the lack of privacy and unsanitary conditions at the designated breastfeeding area at the state fair. While the event park offered a changing table, rocking chair, and a trash can, the space lacked the necessary privacy for a nursing mother. The curtain provided did not offer sufficient protection, and a child was able to open it. Adding to the discomfort, the trash can provided was overflowing and unsanitary. This is especially concerning considering that Virginia law (Code of Virginia § 32.1-163) protects a mother's right to breastfeed in any location, public or private, where she is authorized to be. While the law does not explicitly dictate specific design requirements for breastfeeding areas, the lack of privacy and unsanitary conditions felt like a violation of the spirit of this law. We encourage fair organizers to reconsider their designated breastfeeding space and ensure it offers a more private, comfortable, and clean environment for nursing mothers.

Worst place ever to see a show! This is by far the worst venue in the area. We missed 20 mins of our show due to a 2 hour wait to get in. Will never go back again!

Worst event venue I have ever been too. The grass in the parking lot was taller than my ankles. So when it rained every thing got soaked. They only had one area to enter the venue so after a rain delay thousands of people were waited in a ridiculous line for over an hour. The bad started playing before we entered the venue. We bought seats but could not get to them and could not find any event staff to help us. So we spent money on seats that never got used. Leaving was a circus. One guy turned us around and sent us up to another guy who turned us around and sent us back to the original guy. There is no signed showing how to exit. The parking lot crew is completely clueless how to direct traffic. I go to 8-9 concerts a year at different venues and this was the absolute worst. Don’t waste your time or money in this field that they call an Amphitheater.

Went to the rodeo at Meadow Event Park. The rodeo itself was meh. The park is huge. There are several different entrances. The problem I had was finding the entrance to the area of the rodeo. There weren't any signs or markers to let people know where to go. I was one of a few cars that went into the wrong gate because I didn't see any clear indicators of what part of this venue had the rodeo. Parking was unmarked (no section identifiers). We were late finding the place so we rushed in not noting where we parked so it took 20 mins to find our car when we left. I've been at other things at Meadow Event that were organized much better.

The traffic and parking is horrible. Not worth it unless you are tailgating and don't mind leaving with a bunch of drunk drivers.

This is a perfect spot for a dog show, but get your Starbucks on the way here. It's in the middle of nowhere with only a few options for food and drink.
