Hours: Appalachian Harvest is a nonprofit rural food hub in Duffield, VA that offers year-round certification training and technical assistance to local farmers. They provide aggregation and distribution services to their farmers and sell their produce into larger wholesale markets, ensuring they receive fair market pricing and remain on their family farms. To date, the food hub has assisted farmers in selling more than $23 million of produce to wholesale grocers/brokers while facilitating over 16 million pounds of food donations to local families in need through their parent nonprofit's Healthy Families Family Farms initiative - 2.2 million pounds in 2020 alone! Appalachian Harvest is a division of Appalachian Sustainable Development, an organization praised for its great work in helping people.
