Simon and the lovely manager whose name I did not recall were super helpful to rent me a full-size truck as a walk-in.
I had a reservation at Budget next door but they would not rent to me because I only had a paper temporary drivers license while awaiting my permanent to be mailed to me. This was despite my other federally issued ID to confirm my identity. The moment they identified an issue, their tone immediately became curt and they had little interest in helping me despite my asking to speak to a manager.
I walked over to Alamo next door. Simon greeted me with a smile and after hearing my situation immediately started thinking of solutions rather than hurdles. He called his manager and she verified my second ID and accepted my temporary drivers license to approve the rental. Simon then completed my rental and ensured I had his business card to contact him if any problems came up. Incredible.
The only reason I did not reserve with Alamo to begin with was that the CostoTravel.com website said they did not have a full-size pickup available to rent. Simon identified they had 8-10 units for me to choose from! I did send them feedback to ensure their inventory data shows up with CostcoTravel.
I had similarly good experiences with Alamo at LAX and am so pleased see it is not unique to one location. I will definitely make Alamo my first choice from now on and Budget/Avis will be my last choice.

Andreu on check out was really helpful. He listened attentively and helped me delete my phone information. Truly a customer friendly person.
I was allowed to choose my minivan from the lot at Dullles. It was nice to have that option instead of being told which car.

Station Manager Christopher B Gregg showed great customer service while assisting with changing my return location. I appreciate his attention to detail and I recommend his station for car rental when in the area.

I had a great experience renting from Alamo at the Washington Dulles airport. Very efficient process for both pickup and return. Staff were also very helpful and friendly.

WashingtonDCA Regan airport location is unprofessional! I booked a reservation flying in from Houston, my husband took an earlier flight, I’m flying in later. He went to pick up the car from Alamo and was told the reservation was in my name and he couldn’t pick up the car. My husband has a drivers license and major credit card. He was refused rental and treated nasty by branch manager O.B. We asked for area manager and was told area manager Randy Dalrymple said he couldn’t rent a car! My husband was shown the door! These folks was nasty, unprofessional, and down right inhumane! My husband flew all the way from Houston to Washington to treated like trash! They were no accommodating and basically cited their reason for denial was “ their location is known for high theft”! But he has all the credentials to rent a car in the first place! Irregardless of the current reservation! They also locked the reservation so I couldn’t modify it on my end! I offered to send my drivers license by email and an additional credit card for incidentals or charges? They refused! We will never rent from them again! These folks at this location including the branch manager and area manager need to be retrained or fired because neither of them know a thing about customer service! If corporate read this? Please take note! For every customer they treat this way? We will share our experience with at least 10 more people, who will share with 10 more people! Then I’m wondering how you plan to stay in business?

I have rented from this location several times. The few times I have had some kind of issue manager Patrick M has always been incredible and helped out and solved the issue quickly. Really recommend this location.

This is the worst ever rental I have had. Today was the first time I rented with Alamo, and the last too. Moe the guy there was racist and disrespectful. From the many experiences I had before, this is by far the worst!!! Do NOT recommend!! The car was fine but the people there were horrible!
