Worst food ever! There were four of us couples there for the first time ever. Only saw 6 other people there that night. Food was tasteless, cold, and served on small plates or bowls instead of a regular sized plate. The steaks were tough (all three that were ordered) the steamed spiced shrimp was cold and old bay seasoning sprinkled after cooking, so completely tasteless. Scallops came on a bread plate (5 of them). And they were also cold and tasteless. If you are thinking of eating there you may want to rethink your options. Expensive for no better than the food was. Waitress was rude about the steaks and having to return sides that were too cold to eat.

Had a pretty good experience here. Nothing totally mind blowing. If I could give one avenue of advice I would say maybe up date the dinnerware. The plates and silverware look like something you would get at a buffet restaurant. The food would present a lot better on square plates or something to that nature. And I thought the use of plastic souffle cups for sides and stuff was a little un-elegant for the price you're paying for the meal. And on top of that it's not very environmentally conscious. Also for serving locally sourced produce. You would think that they would have an extensive local wine list.

We arrived for our reservation on time, at 6 pm. We left at 7:30 with our meals to go because we were so tired of waiting for our food it seemed easier to eat at home. They gave us free dessert by way of apology for the wait. But we saw people who arrived 30 minutes after us setting food. Our waitress was attentive and apologetic as well, explaining that there were only two chefs in the kitchen. This was our experience last time-very slow service . We hoped it would be better. It wasn’t.

The building is historic but the food took very long (2 hours) for steaks and veggy burger. The food came out just warm as if it was sitting somewhere and the waitress was snappy when we mentioned the tardiness(" you should now that it takes time to make food") was her reply.

Service was very good but the food is hit and miss. Soup was room temperature. They usually forget to bring you bread rolls. Prices are somewhat decent.

Service was good! The prime rib was not good. It was over cooked and tough! Very disappointing. Not sure it was even prime rib.The servings were small but tasty. The atmosphere was basement-like. Low ceilings and cold!.

My wife and I were celebrating our 27 yr anniversary. We like to try different places each year. This year was the Edinburg Mill restaurant. We made a reservation because it was recommended (seems to be a tactic to make it seem like they have highly sought out food and service). Just before getting there for our reservation we found out that the chefs/management were from the defunct Joes Steakhouse in Front Royal (not so good steak there). I decided to chance it.Should have steered clear.I had the blackened Sword fish - very dry and awful flavor. Not edible, even though I tried. My wife had a Medium Rare Sirloin - came out more on the medium side. She decided to eat it because the waitress did not come back to check midway through our meal and instead came after we were done (at least the steak - not the fish)While they are trained to ask if they can do anything, I would have expected the chef or manager to come to the table. But not this place. We were offered a discount on the one meal and a dessert on the house for the occasion. Peanut Butter cream pie was our selection. Poor choice as a jar of peanut butter with a chocolate covered graham cracker crust would have been the equivalent. Too heavy after a meal - should be lighter - especially something with peanut butter.Too bad - the place is quaint. If I had negative stars, I would provide, but zero is adequate. The chef/management need to really evaluate what they are trying to accomplish. Is the place now open Thursday - Sunday because of poor service and food?So here are recommendations for the chef’s:1. Re-evaluate the menu.2. Get some honest feedback from people about how the food is prepared. Food overcooked is a big thumbs down for us.3. Your drink menu should include local vineyard options - theirs are at least 3 within 20 miles that are actually better than what is on the menu.

For the price of the food, it should be top-notch, but it's not as good as other places nearby. Make sure you duck when walking through. The ceilings are really
