A much needed place to enjoy the Appaloosa music festival. Found our host to provide more than we expected with history and recommendations for our stay.

This B and B is a hidden gem! Ed and Ellen are fantastic hosts. This is so much more serene and relaxing than staying in a chain hotel. The grounds are lovely, the rooms are comfortable, and breakfast is delicious. You can sit on the porch outside of your room or wander the surrounding lush scenery. My only regret is that I am not frequently inthis part of VA, otherwise I would stay here more often.

Don’t miss out on staying in this wonderful inn! We were looking for a last minute accommodation for our Memorial Day weekend trip to Shenandoah National Park. Ed was able to host us upon a short notice and offered exactly what we needed. The room was clean, comfortable and lovingly decorated. It’s tricky to preserve the place’s history and offer modern amenities and tasteful decoration but the Inn at Narrow Passage nailed it! The grounds are beautiful, and there is a short hike to a river nearby. There are many restaurants around the area, and the inn offers a hearty breakfast along with some drinks and snacks. We were surprised by homemade cookies and brownies in our rooms. Highly recommend this place!

I highly recommend the Inn at Narrow Passage!!! The beds were very comfortable. The breakfasts were filling and delicious. Ed is a marvelous, caring, knowledgeable host. The décor was period and quaint. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. There is good, wholesome food within 5-10 minutes. There is a Tesla Supercharger five minutes from the Inn, and other electric car chargers equally close. There are hiking and walking trails nearby that range from easy and ADA compliant to hard up in the George Washington National Forest. There is also fishing within walking distance of the Inn. There are several wineries within easy driving distance. We had a great trip, and we WILL be back.

We stayed at this Inn over Memorial Day Weekend and it was delightful. The proprietor was friendly and helpful, the beds were large and comfortable and the breakfasts hot and tasty. For a weekend of day hikes and wineries it was in a perfect location with everything we wanted to see less than thirty minutes away. The facility was also just a few blocks from a Tesla supercharger so keeping our car going was a breeze.

My partner and I just stayed there for the middle of our week trip out here in Virginia. Ed was very accommodating and knowledgeable. I enjoyed our rooms and I got to see light snowfall for the first time in my life.Breakfast was served each morning the two nights we stayed and it was very delicious. We absolutely loved the coffee. The TV had my favorite programs (green acres and beverly hillbillies) so the nighttime was very enjoyable and relaxing. We can't wait to go back,Aubree and Colin

We had a great stay at this well-located Inn. We were close to several good wineries and breweries, along with parks and forests. The grounds are lovely and out hosts were very attentive. Breakfast was excellent. Local restaurants were quite good and we expect to return soon.

Charming, old fashioned. A large and comfortable room. Sitting out on the porch, reading, in the late afternoon was a delight. If you want early-morning coffee, there's a Sheetz a couple of miles down Rt. 11.

Delightful! Beautiful old inn built in 1740 with an innkeeper who is perfect: he has everything ready for a lovely stay. Plus, when we locked ourselves out of our room late at night, he answered the phone (I was afraid my call would go to an answering machine) and was at our room in less than 2 minutes! Nice, knowledgeable man who really knows the local history. Our room had a fireplace and was nicely appointed. The breakfast was delicious and filling. The inn is located on the shore of the North Shenandoah River next to a cement launch for kayaks and paddleboards; maybe small fishing boats but current low water level means all craft have to be portaged. Caught a dozen fish. Had dinner at the Edinburg Mill: surf & turf with fried okra and pinto beans followed by buttermilk pie, oh my!!! Had fun at the county fair. Can't wait to come back and stay at the inn in the winter and hang out with a good book in front of one of the many fireplaces!

Absolutely the best place to stay! The rooms are always clean and breakfast is always tasty. They were even able to work around my food allergy. Ed (the owner) is the sweetest man!

The Inn at Narrow Passage is beautiful and quiet. The innkeeper Ed was a delight, extremely helpful and went out of his way to make sure I had everything I needed. This is not a "boutique" B&B. The breakfast is "down to earth" and tasty. May, 2022, I stayed for 3 nights in Room 10. The room was just right, tastefully furnished, and the bed very comfortable. Sitting on the rocking chair on the porch in front of my room at sunset was was an incredible experience. If you are looking for a more "old fashioned" B&B in the Woodstock, VA area you can't go wrong with the Inn at Narrow Passage. Wish I could have stayed there longer. Everything was absolutely perfect.

I decided to surprise my hubby with a couple of nights at the Inn for an early birthday getaway. The Inn is lovely, the grounds are beautiful and it is ideally situated for some great hiking/biking/canoeing/paddleboarding. The rooms are beautifully decorated and clean and maid service is provided every day (which was a surprise to me, in this COVID era). Breakfast is simple (french toast/sausage one day, eggs/bacon the next, and fresh fruit, yogurt and baked goods both days, all buffet style) and served from 8:30 to 9:30. Coffee/tea are available earlier so you can sit outside your room or the common area and watch the wildlife stroll by and enjoy the serenity of the early morning. If your schedule requires an earlier exit, Ed is more than willing to accommodate you. Ed is also a wonderful source of information on where to go and what to do while you are in town, so pick his brain, you won't be disappointed! We're already planning a return trip during the cooler months. My only suggestion would be, if you have a preference for bed firmness, you let Ed know when you make your reservation. We were in S-4 and the bed is very soft. In chatting with other residents, other rooms have firmer beds, so please request what works best for you. I don't know if Ed keeps that info on each room (it would be a nice customer service touch and Ed is all about customer service, so I wouldn't be surprised, I just didn't think to ask when making my reservation), but he should know when the bed was purchased and what the firmness was when it was purchased. Nothing can put a damper on a wonderful vacation more than a bad night's sleep. Treat yourself to a night (or two) at this little slice of Heaven on Earth!
