Tried to mail a package from here. Waited for about 10 minutes wondering if the person behind the counter was even there. A man that came in and out for his PO box was nice enough to ask how long I had been waiting and said the girl was outside talking to someone and got her (which seems like a common occurrence if a regular here had to do that). Then when we get to the mailing address confirmation she says I can't mail the package I have because the address doesn't exist even though I'm mailing something to a business I can find on google maps at the exact address listed. Worst experience I've ever had at a post office. The fact that someone not doing their job didn't even care to walk back inside after seeing someone pull up, parked and walk in the front door didn't trigger an alarm in their head is very concerning.

Delivery driver can’t deliver to correct addresses apparently dyslexic and gets the house numbers wrong. Loses packages. Crams them in mailbox. Won’t deliver to door when specified. They indicate that we told them to hold packages when we do not.

Worst hospitality. Will steal your money. Can’t deliver to correct addresses. Loses packages. Crushes packages. Crams them in mailbox. Won’t deliver to door when specified. Been with this post office for over ten years have always had delivery issues and that old lady with the long grey hair is nothing but rude and she has been there forever. The post master seems like she is on drugs. They need new people again.

Elliston Post office is the worst post office I have ever dealt with. I am a disabled United States Air Force Veteran and have lived in about a dozen different postal codes but this is, without any doubt, the worst. They just claim you don't live in your house any more and take away you mail, send it back and lock up your mail box if you don't check it every day!! I got my last mail about a week ago and then I let the mail sit in the box for a few days and on Friday I find that with no note, no process, nothing, my mail was taken away and my box was sealed!!! I feel like my mail has been stolen and my mail box vandalized except it was done by the mail carrier!!! This is now the second time this happened. The first time I let my mail sit in the box until I got something more than junk mail sometimes before emptying the box. The mail was taken away by the carrier and the postmaster said it was because my mail sat for over ten days in the box. I said that I never knew of such a rule and still don't know what the carrier was doing because the junk mail isn't postmarked with a date and the box was nearly empty but my main concern was then that no process was followed, no notification given, no post office policy adhered to. The postmaster agreed!!! Now this is much worse because that mail wasn't sitting for over 10 days and was taken again with no process or notice given. I will followup and investigate and want to see that those responsible are held to account

I asked the mixed lady with freckles if they could please put my deliveries in a keyed box. I work out of town and had been there 3 times to pick up a package needed for work.She looked at me hateful and said let me explain this in a way that you can understand me, I don't use those boxes.I said and I'm asking you to do so. My schedule doesn't always allow for me to come during business hours.First of all, I graduated with a 3.86 GPA while raising two children. I have no problem understanding ghetto behavior when I experience it.If you can't represent an agency of the United States any better, please go back to the ghetto where you belong.I've been with this post office for a year and never had a problem with anyone, until her. She's rude.

Mail lost, packages does not show up on time or they're closed!! Horrible service!! Will be getting a PO Box in Salem Va.

It’s sad when I can’t even get a package at post office because they are closed! Then the sign says to “ Utilize the Shawsville post office”. Um sure, I guess I can Magically pick up my stuff there.

I go there nearly every day. Rarely a line and staff is friendly and helpful. Prefer it over Shawsville anyday of the week. Shawsville did not want to take my packages with an Elliston zip bc they wouldn't get credit for them.

I don’t know what it is with whoever delivers to the Montgomery County side of Bradshaw Rd, but I sure don’t want to see “gate closed” on a missed delivery slip when our gate was wide open, I was able to drive through just fine, and there was already another package delivered at our door. This is ridiculous. Either get someone who can do their job or stick whoever delivers here on a different route.

I am not sure why this post office has such low reviews - I love it! There is never a line!! It's clean, the people working there are always polite and my packages are always mailed... what more could you want from a post office?
