In terms of smokes and beer , this spot seems like a lot of peoples “go-to”. In terms of professional business transactions, I wouldnt bother. Detour to literally anywhere else if you could. even with showing the lady at the front counter respect and reason, she gave me a hard time by being consistently rude and inconsiderate of my time. I ordered this U-Haul 2weeks ago closer to my home and 2 days before pick up, they made me choose Exmore since the vehicle I reserved in advanced was no longer there. Due to the changes I would’ve had to pay up to 30 dollars more for mileage . A lady called me last night about the reservation during my work shift and I tried my best to work with her. The night lady on December 7 was pretty nice. She tried her best to help me and inform me about the process. I had to beg the company for the links that she was prying me over because they never sent them. Keep in mind I was in the middle of my shift trying to find these links that were just never given to me
Well my original pick up was for 10 but she asked me to come at 8 because the boss would be there to help with the rest of the process. And all I had to do was pay . I added a primary card and instead of using the primary card and asking further questions, he tried to charge a card that I didn’t know that he had access too. I didn’t have access to the card that he was trying to charge. I couldn’t find it on the U-Haul app or reservation info and I wasn’t able to pay on my own .
With that being said today came and I had to ask for a ride to go 25 miles down the road to get this U-Haul at NOW 8am instead of my regular 10am. I get there and the lady tried to tell me to come back another day because she didn’t want to help me get more information on my process. (even though I reserved my truck 2 weeks in advanced , U-Haul renting is closed on Sundays unless you reserved it in advanced and today(sunday)was my only available day to do this ). The Sunday morning lady(today) said to me “how about you come around 10 when people are actually awake “ and no she wasn’t making a playful joke, she was rude and was annoyed with me.
I came back after 10 and she told me that the manager told her that my payment couldn’t process because my card declined. But he kept charging a card that I didn’t have access too and wouldn’t use the updated card that I put into the u haul system . I was contacting him at this time and he ignored me for 2 hours (my waiting time) after I told him that I went and transferred my money to the card that he has access too and he can just charge it since he kept trying to charge it. I explained that to her and asked if she could contact him and let him know that my funds are available on that card and she told me that he wouldn’t answer because he was at a game and refused to press the button to process my transaction because of it. (Keep in mind they constantly called the day before and expected me to do everything last minute during my work shift to make up for the fact that they didn’t even bother to send me anything within the 2 weeks) And then she shooed me out the store in front of customers like I was a hobo asking for money or cigarettes . and she said it so rude and it definitely hurt my feeling because I only came because I was asked too. This was my first time in this establishment (not even by choice) and I see why I always avoided it going down the road . The service here is just as crummy as it seems . Again unless you’re coming for beer, and cigarettes/blunts and potentially kerosene , and don’t care about how employees talk to you then I guess this is your place to go but I’m not walking back into a place that can’t hold common decency and composure when talking to people.
The plans that I’ve waited all year for all went down the drain because of the rudeness and inconsideration that I’ve received here.

Very dirty and ghetto. Tried for 2 weeks to rent a u haul, cashier said she “didn’t even know how to do u haul” and said the owner wasn’t willing to help until he left a game he was at. Sent us away twice and still wasn’t able to help us. Shooed us out of the store like stray cats. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Love love this place. They become a part of your family. Even know your name. I love everyone who works in the building. Always a good trip to go inside even when it's there off day
