Didn't have a great experience with the 2 other Advance Auto Parts shops I visited that Sun but decided it was worth trying again since I really needed to replace my battery that day and no car shops were open. I first asked for a battery diagnosis (which they do for free). The employee was able to quickly diagnose and explain to me the details of that diagnosis that was easy to understand. I do know quite a bit about batteries but physically I fall into a demographic that people might assume that I do not. So I appreciate that he was not condescending or anything. So that past my 'trustworthy' initial test. So I ask for them to install the new battery I bought from another location. And that's when the red flags started to come.. -first guy didn't disconnect the negative terminal first -didn't hold the other end of the terminal bracket to prevent twisting when trying to turn the nut -had to get a 2nd guy who was more experienced -he didn't bother wearing gloves and touched the corrosion with his bare hands..(clearly not safety first) +2nd guy was smart enough to hold down the other end with some pliers and sprays a lubricant to help loosen the nut without breaking the terminal bracket +2nd guy did use gloves to isolate the terminal brackets to prevent short circuiting +2nd guy was able to properly explain to me how the corrosion occured (with a bit of help from Google) +2nd guy gave me a battery tie down rode for free since my car was missing it +2nd guy sprayed down the bolts and brackets and also cleaned the terminal clamps with a metal wire brush +2nd guy made sure that my car could start up twice after the replacement -both used impact guns to initially loosen or tighten bolts - the best way would be to use a rachet and then a torque wrench All in all, got the job done, but not in the safest manner. Thankfully nothing went wrong. But I don't think I'd risk them doing something else on my vehicle. I think I would only trust their help with finding parts.

Manger was very rude to me and his own employees about a part I needed to exchange. I went to another Advanced Auto Parts in Merrifield and manger was very understanding and exchanged the car part for me. DO NOT go to the Main St. location!

Went in to purchase a part for my car, guy named ahmed or something helped me and immediately became very rude, when i wanted to ask a question he would tell me to be quiet. How is this guy still working here? This guy has mental issues and knows nothing about cars. He has problems talking nicely. Im going to contact the bbb and Scott needs to know about this. This is unacceptable!

Why so rude to someone who wants to give you money? I visited the store and showed them the part number and price for an item they had in stock. The manager, Ahmed, who was at the counter, acted quite belligerent to me from the second I walked into the store. When I showed him the part that I wanted, he stated "That's not my store, that's your phone." I said that the site shows the part in stock here and he responded with "Well then why don't you purchase it on your phone?" I asked again for him to sell me the part and he stated that "if you want this for only a hundred bucks, you should visit WalMart, not my store!" Really? Yelp needs to give a Zero star option because service like this doesn't deserve any stars. All else I can say is WOW!

If I could give zero stars, I would. I have never been treated as poorly as I was than by the manager Ahmed and his employee (I believe he is the same young Hispanic boy that has been complained about already in these reviews). I had my mechanic brother in town for the holidays and he was going to fix my car. It wasn’t until after he started working on the car that he noticed that we needed an additional part. We noticed this issue on Friday (11/24) and he was leaving town Saturday (11/25). We frantically called many auto part stores looking for the part and Advance Auto said they’d be able to get it in the quickest— being Saturday (11/25) around 2:30. My receipt even said delivery would be at 2:33. I was thrilled to hear this and ordered the part with Perry in the store. Nothing wrong there. Perry was great. However, Saturday rolls around and we call around noon to see if the part came in earlier by chance and Ahmed answered very rudely saying “what did he (Perry) tell you!?”. There is no need to be rude when a customer asks where the part THEY paid $200 for is. The time of delivery rolled around before we knew it and we hadn’t heard anything. We went to the store at 3:00 and asked if the part was delivered. Ahmed very rudely kept refusing to listen to our concerns about the matter and would walk away from us saying he wasn’t going to help us and that they didn’t have the part. I asked if he could track the order or contact whoever or wherever the part was coming from. He refused to do so. Therefore, we took matters into our own hands and found the information of the shipper and called them. We found out the part wouldn’t be delivered until Sunday. At this point I was very frustrated as I felt I was lied to. However, Ahmed didn’t care and was very vocal about it too. We left and had no other choice but to wait it out. Sunday rolls around again and it’s 3:00 and still nothing. I call the store and am told it’s still not there and they will reorder the part. At this point, time is no longer a piece of the equation and I just want the part I paid for. I wait again. Monday rolls around and I call at 3:00 again because I haven’t heard anything. The young Hispanic boy answers the phone this time and is very very unprofessional and rude telling me I have no common sense about this stuff and I don’t know what I’m talking about and to leave what happened with Ahmed on Saturday in the past. Ahmed then picks up the phone at one point and even gives his speech again (rudely) about how he cannot help me and so on. (Sidenote: every time I spoke with them they said “do you just want a refund?”. I felt as though they didn’t value my service and did not care to fix my issues). At one point, Ahmed puts the phone down and him and the young boy are talking to one another about me while I am listening on the line still. Unbelievable!! I ultimately contacted corporate, spoke with the district manager, and got my money back today (11/28). However, I am very disappointed with this service and felt very disrespected by the general manager and that boy. It seems to be a common theme at this store per the other reviews here on Google. DO NOT GO HERE!!

I’ve been doing business with advance for 20+ years and my parents for 30+ years never been disrespected in my life. Customer service has gone down the drain extremely. The kid with the long hair I’m assuming he’s Hispanic one they don’t wear uniforms to as he’s ringing me up. He’s cursing up a storm F bombs and all about the computer and the black kid decided to be disrespectful and threaten me saying, I’ll see you in court. I know the store manager and I’m taking this to corporate, my parents are VIP customers and we’re no longer going to shop here. My company will not buy from advance ever again.

I arrived looking for sparkplugs and an employee named Mohammed was extremely helpful in the process. He helped me properly gap them and then did a battery test upon my request. The employee was outstanding and showed genuine care and knowledge of cars

Refunded me for the wrong part, wouldn't correct the issue without trying to force me to go buy the part from a different Advance Auto and bring it back to him. Not returning to this location until they sort out their customer service.

Purchased some wiper blades that didn't fit. Wanted to make a return within the same hour and the system would not let us. The manager Ahmed told us too bad and now we have wiper blades that don't fit our car and no refund. Would not recommend shopping here. Auto zone is right across the street. UPDATE: Auto zone across the street did a FANTASTIC JOB getting me the correct wipers. A+ service.

We bought a battery for our 2019 Honda Honda Odyssey 6 months ago for $258.41. However, the battery was dead a few times in the last 2 months. It required a jump start to function again. We went to the store to request for an exchange of this defective battery but the staff and manager refused to honor the warranty. One of the staff did the tests on the battery, the first 2 results came back with Red words stating to replace the battery, the next 2 results came back with Green words stating it's fine. The staff and manager refused to replace the battery because they went with the last 2 results. We thought they did multiple tests and pressed different buttons to get to the "fine" results so they could refuse the replacement.If the battery didn't die out and put our vehicle at risk, we didn't want to come to the store to bother anyone there.The store's customer service was dismissive and unhelpful. We request that you reconsider your decision regarding my warranty claim and take immediate action to resolve this matter. I expect the defective product to be replaced or repaired at no additional cost to me, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the warranty.

I bought battery from this store, and the new battery died after 3 weeks. I came to the store with receipt to replace it. But the manager named Ahmed H. refused to help me but two other staffs were very kind and tried to finish replacement. Unfortunetly this manager told them to stop help me. I didnt understand the reason. This was my worst costumer service experience. Price was much higher than other store, so my husband and i thought they have good items or good costumer service. But it wasnt. Definitely not recommend this store. We will make official complaint to head office about this manager. He clearly didnt have any intention to help and his attitute was worse than bad.
