Really disappointed in Avis. This is a car rental company that can’t produce a car that was reserved and confirmed a week prior to rental. I needed a large SUV and rented a Suburban (or equivalent) a week prior for pick up at 9a so we can head out of town for a time sensitive event. At 9:30 not only was the vehicle not there, but they couldn’t tell me when or if it would show up.

Mr Habtom, of Fair City Mall Avis in Fairfax, VA was extremely patient and kind throughout my car rental experience. I am sold on Avis going forward. Remarkable experience.

I've personally rented here 3 times as of writing this review and it has always been a positive experience. I read through the negative review and maybe there are some details the reviewers leave behind because I wanted to be sure of how this place operates before I leave a review.Never once had an issue with Habtom or Heni that is manning the business. If there was any type of issue with the vehicle they have addressed it when I asked so I'm not sure where the other negative reviews are about.Professional and courteous service is always here. We're all humans and can make mistakes, but customer service is top notch.

I had an utterly disappointing experience with Avis recently and it has left a bitter taste in my mouth. My initial reservation was at the Fair Oaks location. I had unknowingly used my brother's discount, which I found out wasn’t allowed. Rather than professionally informing me of this, the front desk employee raised his voice, berated me, and ultimately threw both me and my elderly father out of the store. This is no way to treat a customer, especially when I genuinely was unaware and immediately offered to pay without the discount as I urgently needed the car.After this terrible start, I rebooked at the Dulles location, hoping for a better experience. I paid for a mid-size vehicle (similar to a Rav 4). Instead, I was provided a vehicle in a lower category. To make matters worse, the car was in a deplorable state - moderately damaged, extremely dirty with unsightly stains, and a broken aux cord. Given the amount I paid and the standard Avis claims to maintain, this was completely unacceptable.The only saving grace of this ordeal was the Avis staff at the Greensboro location. After driving for 5 hours in the previously mentioned substandard vehicle, the employees at this branch were empathetic to my plight and provided me with a much-needed upgrade. They salvaged a bit of the Avis reputation for me, hence the solitary star in my rating.I sincerely hope that Avis takes this feedback seriously. No customer should have to go through what I endured. If I’m paying for a service, I expect decency, professionalism, and to get what I’ve paid for.

I had just got that returns area and realized that I forgotten my bag at the hotel. By the time I pick my other bags, they checked me out of the rental. Didn't allow me to keep the car ( there were 6 hours remaining for the day) so that I can pick my bag from the hotel. They asked me to make another rental reservation. Very rude and didn't want to help.

Mr. Hobtom at this location is very patient and understanding. I had made a reservation for a SUV for a long distance trip. I had second thoughts especially with a lot of luggage and wanted to see if the vehicle had enough space. Even though he is the only person at the location he accommodated my request for me to see the different vehicles such as suburban vs expedition vs ford transit to see which is better for my needs. Greatly appreciate his help and customer service.

We are very sacristy with the car size but not the conditions of the car and not the crews services either. I had evaluated my opinions to the high up management and hopefully they will review it seriously.

I rent cars quite often and this place has it all: easy location, great service, and affordability. The guy who has been helping is (haven’t gotten his name but might be the owner/operator) has been truly fantastic. We don’t expect great service renting cars these days but this place delivers and I will always use this location when I’m in the area. We have rented multiple times from here and had great experiences.

I’ve rented cars from this location for about 3 years. I just can’t express enough of my satisfaction and gratitude for the owner/ operator of this location. He’s been always very polite, understanding, accommodating and professional every time I’ve gone there. This location is not really convenient for me but every time I need to rent a car I go to this location only because of this person.
