0 stars. banfield abuses animals.i brought my kitten to get her fixed. her appointment was in the morning. i dropped her off and did not hear back until after they closed. they left her in her bag after getting fixed and stitched for 8 hours. i was worried sick! they wouldn't even answer my phone calls! she peed herself in her bag she was so scared. it's been over a year and we switched vets long ago, but she is traumatized of going to the vet. she has to be sedated or they wont see her because she is so scared. do not bring your animal to any banfield location ever.

Receptionists - Need to prioritize follow-ups and respond to emails. Take notes and actually follow through with them.Doctors - Learn to prioritize follow-up’s after surgeries. Doctors should provide patients with their email, in case of any questions, not the clinic email that gets ignored daily.Overall - This is a clinic, not a hospital.

Disappointing with the people in front, it is the second time I have visited this store and the people in front do not want to serve you. I understand that I went 10 minutes before 6pm, because I don't have another time, I leave work and I wanted to put my dog on a plan, and she hides behind the computer with her head down because she wants to leave??? like i was bothering her...Change jobs, if you don't like working with people, you have to be kind and patient. You stayed 10 more minutes, it's not going to change anything.

Switched to this location from South Alexandria. They are great at providing care and scheduling appointments quickly. They’ve taken great care of our pup.

Very friendly and informative staff. Very caring towards pets and looks out for their best health and safety. Went there to get a fecal exam so my dog could go to doggy daycare and during their head to toe assessment, they found a tick in my dog's ear! They removed it and gave him a treatment (follow up in a couple weeks) and a preventative. They explained every single thing they were going to do before they did it and gave me an opportunity to ask questions. Thanks so much for taking care of my doggy baby!!! ❤️

i’ve gone to just about every banfield location in northern virginia since i got my dog in 2017 & not a single one compares to fairfax. i drive from orange va just for them. always clean & efficient, they care about my dog just as much as i do. s/o to Dr Lamb for always being patient with my chronically itchy german shepherd & always taking the time to answer any questions i have to better treat him.

Worst clinic ever. If i could rate 0 i would. They do the most unnecessary tests just to charge u more, one visit was 370$, then the said ok let’s schedule a cost free check up for next week. I come in the next week and they claim its a “discounted charge” . When the front desk said otherwise. & i tried to talk to them about it and they didnt believe me. The appointments last Hours.. everytime i bring my cat in i kid you not he is in there for 4 hours. And when i call for an update they say they havent gotten to him yet.. so then why the hell did you take him in at 10:30.. just to look at him at 1pm? On top of all this the doctors are clueless, she called me to tell me about my cat and told me nothing about his issue, and literally asked for my opinion as if im the doctor, she had 0 answers for anything. dont ever go here unless u want to waste ur money.

I don’t really know where to begin. The front desk staff is nice but really seem to lack experience and/or have no direction/systems in place to handle check-ins and check-outs. This is problematic because it’s really the biggest responsibility that reception/intake has. They are inefficient and constantly running behind. We have taken our puppy there twice and will not be returning. They used the term “curbside” for our follow up appointment and that was very misleading. They apparently don’t do “curbside” appointments and don’t let you into their exam rooms. It’s wild that they would use the term curbside when that is not an option whatsoever - why not just call it an appointment and avoid the confusion. So misleading. They somehow forgot to explain this to us when we booked the initial appointment and also when they called to confirm the appointment. In fact, they still used the term “curbside” in the appointment confirmation call. They also take your pet to be held in a kennel before being seen by a vet and then put back in the kennel to wait to be picked up. This is just worrisome and so impersonal. It made us feel like our puppy was just not being cared for as an individual - it seems like pets are just a number for them and they crank out as many appointments as possible in a day. This was also explained to us right before he was taken back. We’re also pretty sure they gave some type of sedative/Benadryl to our dog without consent or informing us. We picked him up and they made a comment about how upset he was to be in a kennel and he literally slept for 8 hours straight after the appointment - only getting up to take a sleepy walk - and he always has the “zoomies” at night before bedtime. He wasn’t even interested in eating dinner. Thankfully, whatever it was seems to have worn off now. It’s just wild because they charged us ~$30 our first visit to give him Benadryl because they thought “he might have an allergic reaction to the vaccines.” ??? But he was totally fine after that visit and not drowsy at all. He was also covered in a thin layer of some kind of dust or dirt when we picked him up. Assuming it was from being put in a kennel that had not been sanitized or wiped down before putting him in. But how would I know? They don’t let you into the exam room so you’d never know what or if they did anything. You don’t know the condition of the holding kennels or exam rooms. You also never get to actually talk to the vet that saw your pet. You talk to a vet tech that gives you generic answers for everything. It’s super sketchy and frustrating. They also seemed more interested in selling us a monthly “wellness package” that really doesn’t cover anything except the office visit fee (~$70/visit) than actually checking him in for his appointment.I am just completely blown away by this entire experience. There are a few other things that were really troubling but this review is already long enough as is. As a pet owner of 20+ years, this is the worst vet experience I’ve ever had. Truly disappointed and shocked. Maybe it was just this location but seriously - take your pet anywhere else.

My dog had an ear infection. I was not able to get an appointment at the hospital he always goes. Fairfax Banfield saw him the same day i called. Very pleased with their service

Louis- I hope I’m spelling your name correctly- you are our rock star. Your care, concern and attention is above and beyond!! Banfield is by far the most professional and educated- and care for the people as well as the pets…. Many thanks for you..
