The fruit fly infestation is true. The review stating that is not a lie. Also there's a woman at the front desk who's a pain the neck. I made a reservation and paid and I was offering her proof that I made the reservation. She be giving all the customers a bad attitude. You need to fire her!! Airhead.

Good price for the location. Well run operation with professional front desk staff. Effortlessly extended my stay when something came up last minute. The gym and laundry facilities were good. Full size fridge and kitchen in the room was very useful.

Fine enough hotel for the price. I liked the location a lot. The only issue was the hotel desk clerk was very rude. Never even looked me in the face when I checked in. Simply slid me my key. I don’t see the point of having someone at the front desk if they aren’t going to speak to me or give me any info on the hotel. I would rather just check in on my phone if that’s what I’m going to be dealing with

Let me start by saying I typically only leave positive reviews, but my experience here was awful. My husband and I stayed here while visiting family due to the location being right near my brothers home. We really were just looking for a place to sleep, no high expectations. First let me say the room smelled like marijuana. The bed was comfortable, but clearly a full size bed on a queen size frame, so not the queen we booked. The coffee cups in the cabinet still had coffee stains. All of this being said we tried to look past these things we didn’t really care.On our second day, my husband and I returned to the hotel around 10:20pm to find our key card no longer worked. There was no staff at the hotel, so I had to call guest services. Thankfully someone answered confirmed the name and room number and stated “I’m coming.” I was waiting at the room as I called from my cell phone. After a few minutes I headed to the front desk realizing they were probably expecting to meet me there, no big deal. When my husband and I arrived to the desk my husband and I were greeted with a “where were you?” Kind of attitude. Both of us were taken aback and stated the confusion about where they were coming to. She stated our key was in the drop box, which led to more confusion. When I tried to calmly ask questions regarding why this happened, why the unmarked key was in the Dropbox, how we were suppose to know to look there or know the unmarked key belongs to our room, I was cut off and told it was human mistake. After being treated poorly for their mistake with no apology for the inconvenience, I requested for my husband to go test the key while I wait downstairs in case there are any issues. The staff member finally apologizes and tells me for some reason our key card did was deactivated at 12pm. I then asked if that’s the case is our stuff okay, worried someone would be turning over our room. I was told the keys and turnover were not connected. I was also told no staff member is allowed upstairs at night and no housekeeping unless 7 day stay which is fine we didn’t want anyone in our room anyways. After having my patience tested I returned to the room, I looked through my messages to see what time my husband entered the room earlier in the day when he forgot his sunglasses and it was after 12pm and the key worked. Not sure what is going on here but it seemed very weird. We were treated very poorly and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place with other options in the area for a short stay. I plan on talking to staff in the morning to get more information regarding the situation. I understand mistakes happen but we were only met with a very offensive attitude. Also the front door key card must be for show and a false sense of security because our key didn’t work for that door it flashed red and we were still able to open the door.

Sketchy and fraudulent. On top of the strange guy standing in the parking lot watching us unpack, they overcharged us. We paid through a third party and that charge had already gone through. After our stay, charges directly from CS Washington Fairfax showed up on my account totaling about $160 in additional charges. If you try to contact the main Candlewood Suites number they have to defer to the local hotel management who never contacts you. I've had to contact my bank to get a new card and have those charges removed. Guy also gave us one key and when I pointed out he only gave us one he argued that he had just given us 2. No, no you didn't. Are they so strapped for money they can't afford to give out cards and then resort to fraud to make a little extra cash?

After check in, we went to the room and discovered that the hotel room reeked of smoke and wasn’t the room that we had booked. When we went back out of the room after dropping off our bags, the man at the desk was gone, and I didn’t see another employee the rest of my 3 nights. The location is good, but everything else is terrible. Their breezeway/locked door makes it feel like a prison, and even though they say it’s been renovated, it has not.

Not the best experience overall. I had a small issue getting checked in since I got there just after 11 pm. Found two bugs in the bed when I arrived. I was also given the room right by the front desk so I was awoken before 7:00 to the sound of the morning crew arriving. It would be nice if they could be more aware of how loud they are especially if that room is occupied. The manager in the morning was very nice and she was understanding of why I checked out early. But I would not stay here again.

This hotel double charges. Then they tell you it's your fault. Then after a 300 dollar night they tell you to get out like it's your fault they ripped you off. Jun 30 to Jul 1 2023

Pros: location is quiet, safe, residential neighborhood. The hotel is lined with trees and set back from the road and a 4 min drive to the 7/11 and Shell gas station. A 5 min drive to Walmart, hair salon, bookstore, Nordstrom, veterinary services. The hotel is quiet.Management has good vibe. There is a gazebo on the side of the hotel with a grill. Good for hanging out.Cons: The front desk closes at 11pm and reopens at 7am. So no night security. If you lose your key card, you can phone a staff member to let you in. People claiming to be guests will occasionally try to get into the hotel.A VOC (a volatile organic compound such as fossil fuel or solvents, in this case, a solvent of some kind), wafts through the halls as early as 7pm about twice a month. If you have COPD, any other lung disease, chemical or VOC sensitivity, this is not the place for you. The vapor is heavy enough to last about 3 days. Honestly, no good hotel does this. "Respiratory, allergic, or immune effects in infants or children are associated with man-made VOCs and other indoor or outdoor air pollutants.[46] Health effects include eye, nose, and throat irritation; headaches, loss of coordination, nausea; and damage to the liver, kidney, and central nervous system.[50] Some organics can cause cancer in animals; some are suspected or known to cause cancer in humans. Key signs or symptoms associated with exposure to VOCs include conjunctival irritation, nose and throat discomfort, headache, allergic skin reaction, dyspnea, declines in serum cholinesterase levels, nausea, vomiting, nose bleeding, fatigue, dizziness.[51] ~WikipediaRooms are small unless you’re getting a 1 bedroom suite as opposed to a studio.Bathrooms have no exhaust.Front, side and back doors occasionally malfunction. A problem when you're trying to get in after 11pm. You can, however, dial 0 in the entrance foyer for a staff member to let you in. The door/s do get fixed but eventually malfunction again.

Having stayed here on two separate occasions, this is an excellent motel. Kim at the front desk is an exceptionally kind and wonderful young woman, who goes above and beyond to help. Malcom, the young man who works the front desk at night is also a very pleasent and capable fellow. The housekeeping team are friendly and the rooms are maintained to a great standard. Although they did knock at 10 AM one morning, despite the 12 noon checkout time. Location is calm and quiet, yet very close to shops, restaurants, and 66.Reccomended.

Do not stay at this hotel. The front desk is locked and closed from 11 PM to 7 AM, so if you arrive after those hours, you need to use a phone in the outside doorway to call an overnight employee to come open the door and get you checked in. What modern-day hotel doesn't have a 24 hour front desk? Also, the rooms are not very clean- hair on the the bathroom floor and dingy looking carpet. There is a reason the room rates are low! I'm not sure who is padding the reviews on The IHG website, but there is no way they are from actual guests that have stayed there. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!!
