I have been travelling from Ashburn to Fairfax for over 10 years and before that Herndon because of the team of doctors, nurses and staff over the years. While I am sad that GIMG changed from an independent group of doctors to Inova, thankfully staff are awesome.Today is a perfect example of how good a team they are. A short note from me to my primary care doctor on pain in a calf (I have had clots before ) had a nurse call immediately almost as I sent my note to schedule an appointment today.Arriving 2 ½ hours earlier as I had an appointment in Maryland, Fatima a senior nurse who is awesome came and got me right away to see the PA Elizabeth Johnson who I have known for years who checked me out and recommended a doppler. It was late in the afternoon with Fairfax Vascular almost ready to close and this is where Olga the 3rd member of the team and in this case most important called to get me seen before FRC closed. Olga has worked her “magic” before on my behalf and is amazing.A team operating and functioning to take care of a patient within an hour. Simply awesome and so efficient. This is the reason I travel from Ashburn to Fairfax. There are more staff and doctors who have taken care of me. A reason I send boxes of chocolates each year as a small token of thanks. But today could have turned out different for my health and thank goodness the results were in my favor. Both Ms Johnson and Olga followed up afterwards.

I would not recommend Inova for primary care. My doctor has not taken my health concerns seriously and it is nearly impossible to switch to any of the decent doctors within Inova since they are either not taking new patients or booked 5 months out apparently. Because Inova's scheduling has been a mess, I tried to ask for a referral via Mychart which was ignored. Something is critically wrong with Inova as a practice and I wish I left sooner for a primary care provider that actually cared about me.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THE FRONT DESK. IF I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD. I made this appointment for my daughter who is under 18, 3 weeks ago. On the website it did not indicate that she cannot be a minor. I walked in the office 20 minutes before my appointment, and the front desk lady (Hispanic with glasses and brown hair) told me that she had called me to cancel my appt. I told her you all send me a confirmation text yesterday to come in. So I asked her when did she call, it was as I walked in the office, they called me 20 minutes before my appointment to cancel. There was no apology or options given to me. I walked out furious. Update your website and give the client at least a week before you guys cancel. My review will be on other places too.

I wanted to make some remarks about a behind the scenes employee at GIMG-Fairfax. Her name is Marilyn Gonzales-Haymen and I believe her job title is Care Coordinator. I was recently discharged from a hospital stay with changes to my, already extensive medication list. Marilyn called me after she had done a thorough, comprehensive, comparison/audit of my old medication list with the details of my NEW post-hospital medication list. She pointed out critical changes, including a temporary "hold" on a blood pressure booster and a mg dosage change to my primary blood pressure that cut my dosage in half.WHAT HAPPENED:Unfortunately, while my spouse and I thought we were being careful on the morning of the day after my discharge we believed the "hold" to be an oversite. We had NOT noticed the 50% reduction in the daily dosage. As such, I took the booster and a full days dosage very early. Soon thereafter I was feeling the effects and was in immediate contact with my cardiologist and was working on a solution.Amazingly, Marilyn's call came while I was in the midst of resolving this but it was her diligence that pointed out to me that the pill size I was using was 100mg to be taken 2 times a day, under the OLD medication list. The NEW medication list called for half of that dosage. Hence it wasn't till I got her call that I, and my cardiologist, realized I had already taken a full days dosageat once! No wonder my blood pressure readings were way too low and I was light-headed.Marilyn's diligence did not stop with just a medication comparison. She was the only person who discussed an upward weight gain spike while I was in the hospital and took on an advocate role to keep me and other care providers viligent.Per her advice I watched for weight fluctuations and was prescribed 3 days of a Lasix which has resolved the problem.Marilyn is an asset you must protect and nurture. Additionally, it strikes me that the position of Care Coordinator might benefit all of your offices! Clearly you have a role model already in place.Mark P. Connelly

I have been going to the practice for 6 years, I remember choosing them because they were close to my work. This week I make an appointment online via their own app and an hour before the apt. They call me to cancel. I called back to ask why? And they could not give an answer, other than I was not a patient there. Whoever is doing their admin needs to review their practices.

Called over three weeks ago to make an appointment with the nutritionist and have had two calls with them since but was NEVER previously told until now that I needed to be referred by another INOVA doctor. If I had been told that from the beginning I would have simply moved on to another doctor.

If I could give negative 10 stars for this medical practice I would. This group of doctors and their staff are some of the most incompetent and careless people my family and I have ever dealt with. Not only can they not get our prescriptions called in to the correct pharmacy (multiple times), but my Dad's doctor called in the WRONG medication for him as well (multiple times). On top of that, my dad tested positive with COVID today and he has multiple underlying conditions and his doctor refuses to call him in a prescription for the antiviral drug, WHICH HE SCORES HIGH ENOUGH FOR BECAUSE OF HIS MEDICAL CONDITIONS. The receptionists are also extremely rude and unpleasant. I wouldn't go to this medical practice if I was near death and they were the last one on earth. STEER CLEAR OF GIMG

I've been seeing Dr. Fola for years and Dr. Fola and Fatima are the best team that I've ever had! Not only are both of them super caring and thorough, but they ALWAYS ask about my parents and grandparents every time I am in. Dr. Fola is incredibly holistic and comprehensive in his appointments, and never makes you feel like you are taking too much of his time. Fatima is, quite literally, the only person I trust to give me a blood test because she's just that good and has a calming presence.

The front desk lady is incredibly rude. Yelled at me asking what I expect them to do, after I called saying I've been sick for over a month with COVID symptoms. Health *care* is what you're supposed to provide, yes? I called another Inova office closer to where I moved and they booked me an appointment, scheduled a flu and a new Covid test and gave me meds. So... I guess there were options. Then this office called me back, same lady I believe her name is Tracy, to lecture me about how I need to book an appointment. No thanks, I won't be returning to this office.

Waited 2 1/2 mo. for physical exam, spent 1 1/2 hr. mostly waiting in the patient's room for simple procedures, I tried to get some info on my symptoms, but doctor did not provide a word what causes them. Doctor & staff didn't provide much detail of what I would expect or what they were performing unless I asked. Doctor seemed to be negligent, he doesn't remember my existing health condition I explained previously during the first visit. Purpose of my visit was for check up. Whatever the record or result I get from this location, I will just pick up and look for other office with better flexibility, kindness, and thoroughness to follow up.

The nurses and doctors seem great but it’s nearly impossible to get any information about test results, correctly schedule appointments, etc. because the front desk staff, Tracy, is so rude. She hangs up on you, yells at you when she makes a mistake scheduling appointments, and refuses to let you speak to someone else. All aggressive behavior was unprompted and unexpected.

The provider at GIMG Fairfax location (Dr. Anjali Goyal) is rude and unreasonable. I have been seeing her for last 17 years and have always left her office feeling very poorly about myself and my health after meeting her. Her male nurse is equally rude. Below is my description of the last bad experience I had with her, which has prompted me to write this review and compelled me to find another PCP: My husband who also sees another doctor at the same GIMG office recently tested positive for COVID. As soon as I found out about his test results, I called Dr. Goyal's office to inform them about it and asked them to reschedule my upcoming appointment with Dr. Goyal for the following week. I informed the staff who answered my call that I am fully vaccinated, asymptomatic, and am awaiting the PCR results for my own COVID test. The staff who answered my call said that I should call them back to reschedule the appointment if and only if my PCR results for COVID test came out positive. Since my test results came out negative, I did not call them up again and showed up for my appointment. I also listed the exposure/test results/etc. in the GIMG eCheckin form. I repeated all this to the front desk when I went for the appointment and repeated all of this again to Dr. Goyal's nurse when he was taking my history. At no point was I asked by any staff to not be present in her office. But then Dr. Goyal walks into the room where I was waiting and starts blaming me of how I am being irresponsible and exposing everyone in her office to COVID and how I should have been isolating at home alongside my husband. (Let me repeat here that I am fully vaccinated, asymptomatic, and my PCR results were negative). When I told her that I tried to do the responsible act of calling her office and informing them about the exposure and asking them to reschedule the appointment, it was her office who said I don't need to reschedule. At that point, she told me that her office staff who answers the call is not medically trained to give this response, and that I should have talked to a nurse or called Dr. Goyal herself during doctor call time to discuss this matter. What I failed to understand is that how a medical office staff is not trained to let the patient know (if that is their policy) to not come into the office when exposed to COVID and why she was blaming me for this. I tried to do exactly what a responsible person would do. Who else was I supposed to call and inform other than her own medical office. I found her action very illogical and unreasonable, and can no longer trust my health to her. FYI, this incident happened in mid September 2021.

GIMG is now referred as "Fairfax Internal Medicine - An Inova Partner" as I visited the practice and saw Anh-Phuong T Le in mid September. It's a same day visit when I called for an appointment. During the visit, Anh Le (PA-C) gave me a very thorough examination. She's very well mannered and put me at ease immediately. After the visit, she followed up with additional recommendaitons and really cares about my case. I highly recommend and happily give 5 stars.

It appears they now have a gentleman who takes the appointment calls, he is very professional and kind. I have found that all the front desk ladies are also very kind and truly doing the best they can which is great. They deal with a lot of different situations and really try hard to help everyone in a timely manner. So grateful for the many years of service they have given me , They are probably very underappreciated. Thank you all for staying on top of things during this COVID-19 pandemic, the saying you are our Hero's is an understatement.
