Traveled during Oct 11-14, 2025 and this was the only place that had a Hertz vehicle for rent. The team members at this location were nice. Car was OK (had a weird smell but beggars can't be choosers since it was the only car available). Not getting a 5 star rating because the HERTZ website was horrible indicating that I had a car reserved at a different HERTZ location when in fact, no cars were available. And HERTZ only paid for 1 of my LYFTs that I needed to take vs the other 2 LYFT's that I was not expecting. The 2 stars are for the 2 members that I encountered that were nice.

Just go to the airport and rent a car. You may think doing it in Fairfax will be quicker, but it’s going to take you infinitely longer because everyone either doesn’t show up to work. Or only 1 person is running the entire thing, cleaning cars, writing contracts, etc.

I was really worried because the Google reviews were so bad, but I think the staff has changed recently—!!! He is amazing. The service was quick and friendly, and he answered all my questions right away. There were no issues with any of the procedures. It would just be good to check this location’s operating hours in advance!

I Am a regularly coustomer to this hertz location. But this time the staff was very rude when u asked them why u was charged 775$ when my week total was only 335$ when I booked. When i asked the staff about the same thing he was rude and he is suggesting me to be more patient. They are charging excessively.

DO NOT RESERVE A PICK-UP AT THIS LOCATION.
The employee that works the Hertz desk apparently doesn’t show up and you’ll be left without a way to pick up your car.
I asked the Marriott employees and they said the Hertz employee makes a habit of this.
UPDATE: I tried to take Hertz up on their offer to resolve the issue after they replied. They didn’t resolve anything. It was a total waste of time.

I showed up to pick up my car (which I had a reservation for), the front desk employee said they don't have any cars available and asked me to either cancel my reservation or wait a day. When I called Enterprise in front of them, they suddenly had a car ready for me.

Reservation for one way rental from here to IAD made on 15 May. After receiving multiple confirmation emails, on June 25 and hours before pick up, store calls to say they will not honor the reservation and they do not support one way rentals. Explained that we are active duty military in a summer move and waiting to the last minute after over a month of reservation put us in a very tight bind as our cars are being shipped tomorrow. Did not change outcome. The store could have told us this policy weeks ago and gave us time to adjust, they chose not to.

All the comments below are truly true.
Guys are late to work, rude, no cars on the lot. No visible sign of Hertz anywhere. They are differing everyone’s requests instead of helping.
The manager, Ian Sheesley, probably the worst manager I ever talk to in my life, I swear. And no wonder his branch is so terrible. And it’s a bad image on Hertz. Hertz need to know how their customers are treated at some of their branches and do an internal investigation.

RUN !!! ESCAPE!! DON'T BOOK AT THIS LOCATION!!!
HERTZ is good but this location is terrible!! The manager knows nothing about decency or customer service!!
My pick up time was 5 pm!! At 2 pm I get a call from my travel agency that the manager is canceling the reservation! Why? Because I'll drop it off in a different location!!! What's wrong with that??? Why didn't the system block it if it's not allowed???
The manager calls me and say nothing useful! Refused to take responsibility and ownership! Refused to adjust my pick up with the same rate or even advocate for me!
If they even called first thing in the morning, things would've been different and would've defuse the situation a little bit!
They screwed my day! No apologies! No resolution! No compensation!!!

Awful rental company. I had reserved a pick up for 6 pm and got there at 5:25 pm and low answer behold they had closed and person at the desk said they shut down the system so he could not get me my car. He even mentioned that they told someone that they may come after 5 pm and tell them we are closed. So these clowns knew and didn't bother to email or call me to let me know. I requested a refund and he asked me to come the next morning to pick up the car?!
I had my reservation printed, which clearly stated the hours of operation were 8 am - 6 pm, and if 5 pm was the closing time, why would it let me book that time?
Horrible service and honestly borderline dishonest as I contacted Hertz coperate, and they agreed that the time and hours of operation on my reservation were accurate.
These folks need to close up shop, as you can tell from the numerous terrible reviews.
Please do not reply trying to refute any of this as I have photos of the desk, a transcript of my conversation with the person at the desk, sceenshots of my voicemail logs and my reservation as proof.

This location is the closest to my residence, and my friends and I had scheduled an appointment with Hertz. However, each time we arrived, a staff member would come up with a new excuse for why we couldn’t get a car. This is now the third time we’ve experienced this. On our most recent visit, we were told that there were no cars available, yet the person who arrived after us was given a car without issue. I don't understand why this is happening.

We booked a rental pickup for 6 PM, only to arrive and find the location completely closed—no staff, no reception, no help whatsoever. If they close at 5 PM, why even allow customers to schedule pickups later than that? It’s incredibly frustrating and a complete waste of my time. Absolutely unacceptable. Double-check their actual hours because their system clearly doesn’t match reality.

Had to drop off my car for repairs. Got a very busy schedule and needed a rental for the day. Scheduled a rental for pickup at 12:00. My entire day is scheduled around picking up the car at noon as per my reservation. I go there at 11:55 for my pickup and there’s no one at the desk. They stepped out for 30 min! How is this professional! My whole schedule is now messed up because of this. Really disappointing!!

I’m truly grateful for Hertz’s pickup service, especially for their staff member Farhan, who drove nearly an hour to Caliber Collision in Arlington to pick me up. I was impressed by his professionalism and enthusiasm. During the ride, he also shared a lot of helpful advice about car rentals and insurance. This has been a wonderful car rental experience.
