I became a new customer of SSB about a year ago, so I went from the top 5 banks in the U.S. to support the local community bank, such as SSB; however, I noticed that it is pretty inconvenient and does not have a lot of options on its website. We're living in the 21 century, 2024, and I'm very surprised and astonished that this particular branch does NOT operate the foreign currency system on Saturdays -- Never heard of it. I didn't have to go to this bank in person to order foreign currency with my previous bank or major banks in the U.S.
Is this a real bank? Another thing I've noticed early is that the direct deposit is 2 days slower than another bank(s). This is a fact because I'm using another bank.
I'm seriously considering closed out my accts from SSB, and go with another bank. By the way, people who are working for SSB, are polite and courteous, and SSB is the problem.

I have had a great experience working with Sandy Spring Bank, both the Fairfax and Springfield location. The staff here are super friendly and quick to respond to customer needs. They also sponsor local community events in Fairfax City that my family and I have enjoyed.

Ever since the changeover form Washington First Bank we have had nothing but problems. I have done a lot of banking in my life and I have never encountered so a bank this incompetent and with incompetent people. It is going to be a big hassle to change banks but I have had enough. You have to try very hard to suck this bad!

I only use this bank for work purposes, so my transactions and needs are simple. On the corporate side, the merger with Sandy Spring and United First was rough, however, this location is superb. It's quiet, easily accessible, and the staff is personable. July and Crystal are the tellers I usually see and I'm happy to have a (somewhat small) rapport with them!

This is the second opportunity my family had had to work with Curt Midkiff to finance construction of our new home. Ours was a more complicated program for a number of reasons. Mr. Midkiff was able to plan and implement a creative arrangement that allowed us to finance the purchase and construction in one package. I was extremely impressed with his plan and it allowed us to work quickly and seamlessly with the banks and our construction company. The result is a wonderful new home. I can recommend Mr. Midkiff without reservation to anyone seeking an excellent mortgage lender.
