Ace Hardware does it all with their grills. Between the quality grills offered, preassembly, delivery, hauling away of the old grill, setting up my propane tank, and running a check on the grill, Ace Hardware is a keeper. A special shout out to the professional delivery employees and the overview given of the grill, and all the tips...I can't say enough. Thank you!!

Avoid their garden soil! I noticed a strong chemical smell in the store but thought it was the nearby paint booth. In the car, it was clear that it was the bags of soil I’d purchased. Like the kind you smell on your hands that makes you nauseous - nothing like normal soil. I had to roll the windows down just to not get faint. I called, and one of the managers told me she thought it was just the outside of the bag, and that the contents would be fine. Picture me hauling the soil into my back yard, opening two and putting the tiniest bit onto my garden bed THAT SMELLED SUPER STRONG of chemicals. Called the store, hauled them back in, and all they offered was a refund. Hours wasted, miles driven, and I still have no useable soil. Save yourself the trouble.

I had such a an amazing experience at Fairfax Ace Hardware this morning, and I'm not even a person that knows much about fixing things!! The store is absolutely filled with everything that you can imagine. If you need something for a repair, I guarantee you that they either have it here, or they can get it for you. I came in this morning to get a key made for my car. Mikey 110% and above with his superb customer service! I really appreciate it all the help and tips that he gave me. Everywhere I looked I saw associates taking care of their duties. And although they were busy, not one of them failed to smile and say, "Hello." I will definitely be coming back here!! Thank you so much!!

Needed a single machine screw to complete a matching set, but didn’t know its exact size and thread count. Called this store to ask if they had a gauge/template to identify the exact size and thread count of the screw I had. They did. Showed up, found the gauge, identified what felt like the best match by screwing it into a template hole, then was asked by an associate if I needed any assistance. I thought I didn’t, but explained that I needed to match that screw, and I thought I had found the perfect match but asked if there was there anything else I should consider. He added that to be absolutely sure, that we should try the screw in its matching nut, so he found the nut and confirmed it had no wiggle room, so was a perfect fit.This was a good reminder of the truth in their old slogan, that it’s the place of the helpful hardware man. The big box stores have larger space for larger sized supplies in greater quantities, but Ace has all the supplies and tools for any home repair/maintenance DIY project - plus the helpful and knowledgeable staff to give helpful advice. I’ll be coming here from now on as my first stop, and only continuing on to a big box store if Ace doesn’t have what I need.
