Wouldn’t cut my fabric into individual yards that I needed for a project because there “wasn’t staff” even though I’m a student doing a philanthropy event and don’t have the materials to cut myself but no one else was in line and there were two ladies behind the desk and was very rude when I called and tried to place an order over the phone because the website wasn’t working. When I asked nicely she said “I hope you have scissors at home” with a snooty look.

Horrible customer service. While in the fabric department I asked an associate stocking the area for help with fabric. The associate told me no she would not help me because she was busy. I asked her if there was someone she could call to help me have fabric cut and she said, “No.” I just don’t understand why the customer service at this location in particular is so bad..maybe there’s a flaw in the hiring process. This incident was not the first time I’ve experienced awful customer service but it will be the last..I refuse to spend another penny supporting a business that treats customer poorly.

The hours are incorrect. The store closes at 6pm or 7pm now, depending on the day. We were not aware of the incorrect hours and had really rude sales associates at closing.

They close at 7:00, not at 9:00 as posted, and the staff guards the door for the last 10 minutes to tell you they're already closed.

Not only are the hours incorrect, but the sale associates closing the store are entirely rude! Please avoid this location at all costs. Rudeness is unacceptable no matter if you’re closed or not.

Excellent choices of fabrics as well as lay out of store. However customer service and treatment of customers was lacking. When I arrived to pick up my online order, I was not greeted. The cashier was busy texting and asked me to wait a minute which turned out to be a few minutes. When she was ready to help me she was still preoccupied with texting but produced my order (a boxed sewing machine). She did not ask if I needed assistance with loading it in my cart and getting it to my car. (And I happen to be a senior citizen.) Also the box was very dusty and when I pointed it out, she just said, “Oh,” and went back to texting. I then asked her for something to wipe the box off with and she provided a paper towel. The who cut my fabrics was friendly and helpful. When I questioned her about thread choice, she left her post and provided assistance to me in the thread section. So my 2 star rating is for her and the contents and lay out of the store.

If you come here, be aware that the hours on Google are not correct, and even if they were corrected to the times on the piece of paper taped to the door (closing at 8 p.m. instead of 9 p.m.), they will not allow anything to be cut 15min before closing, and they were going around telling everyone they were closing at 7:55pm. Waiting by the door to kick everyone out even earlier than the amended hours, and totally uninterested in helping in the slightest when I tried to ask if there were any scraps I could purchase similar to what I'd needed. Similar experience at the Jo-Ann fabrics in Fairfax Towne center - they were supposed to close at 8, but the handwritten hours on the door said 5pm. I definitely planned important errands for the day around the hours that I saw, and it was a bit of an emergency. Be extra cautious of timing if you're in a pinch and need fabric. Strange, I've always had positive experiences in prior years.

Slow-as-mud checkout process, defective products, and an attempt to exchange thwarted because local management couldn't be bothered to update their correct hours of business on Google Maps. Jo-Ann's value proposition is saving us time as well as money. Both were wasted here; will not be back.

Got there at 4:15 to have the manager tell us we cannot enter the stire because they are short staffed and her people want to go home. So, the store is closing for the day. I told her this is not acceptable and she said than find me staff.

The store was well stocked, clean, and organized. The associate and manager that helped us were kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. Great experience overall, and we'll definitely come back for fabric and sewing needs!

The staff is not the most knowledgeable when it comes to sewing, so buyer beware. I had to help a young lady figure out what sort of interfacing she needed for a project, as the staff person was quite useless when it came to answering her questions. I have also seen the manager yell at employees, which is quite unprofessional. Not the best Joann’s I’ve been to, but it is the closest one to where I’ve been in DC, and they run sales often.
