After driving hours and hours, finding a place like this that had very good, warm ready-to-go home cooked style food was amazing. The fried chicken was excellent in and of itself, but along with the green beans and apple cobbler that came with it, it was perfect! I also had a few meatballs and a piece of pie. The best ready-to-go food I've had in a long time, and all for around $13. Not bad at all. The service was very very friendly as well. I highly recommend this place!

Stop and get fuel in my travels. This is a wonderful hometown country store. They make homemade biscuits another delicious homemade foods as well as deviled eggs! The staff is friendly, and they make you feel right at home. Amazing stop right off interstate 81 definitely worth stopping in on a long road trip!

Place is clean, even the restroom. I had an issue with the employee checking me out and just happened to meet the sweet businesswoman who is the owner of the store while getting coffee. I explained my issue and she resolved it on the spot like a professional. The lady with the attitude seemed to be in pain. I asked her if she was ok and apparently she thought I was being sarcastic and snapped at me. This is a convenient place at 156 exit on i81 with good food. Not my first stop here, and I will stop more often because the owner was responsive to my complaint. There is easy and convenient tractor trailer parking but not for overnight.

I've visited this adorable country store located right off Highway 81 near Troutville, Virginia many times. They have CLEAN gas pumps (believe it or not), and a terrific gift area, as well as the usual food, groceries and beverages. I've bought gifts for friends here for years thanks to the excellent variety of items procured by the owner. She always has some lovely serving pieces, placemats, napkins, cards, garden flags, and now, vintage kitchen, glassware, and gift pieces she's selected from antique stores. They have both seating indoors and on the porch. There's room to walk your dog and a special receptacle for poo bags. It's a place well worth stopping for.

This place is a hidden gem. It is bigger than I imagined and it has a lot of knick-knacks. Bathrooms need some cleaning.

Staff were friendly, despite not being greeted when walking in and making direct eye contact. Prices for gas, food, and beer are much higher than they should be. You'd think the food hadn't been sitting under a heat lamp for 4 hours for the prices they're charging, but it most certainly has. 12 pack of beer was $2 higher than I buy it in the city. Can't say I have any reason to ever come back.

Friendly, spacious, uncrowded, old-fashioned store and gas station. A great place to stop for a break. Has a large front porch.

We pulled off the highway for gas and this was an unexpected delight! The gift shop is beyond sweet with both new and vintage items. There is a convenience store on the opposite side and tables where you can sit to eat food you order.

We stopped here to gas up and for a bathroom break. I was excited because I love these kinds of stores. We browsed around a little bit and nothing really stood out to buy. Nothing unique as country stores tend to have. They did have a gigantic cured ham but I wasn't in the market for a ham. The clerk who assisted us was not the friendliest , but I know how to crack through these types of personalities. She ended up actually being ok. The inside of the store was orderly. Just wished it offered more. We had no issues at the pump. And was real close to the main highway, so we jumped right back on the highway to get to Lynchburg before nightfall.
