“Broke down on I-81 south of Wytheville in a 54-year-old classic car. The original timing chain cam gear failed late a Saturday afternoon, so I had to wait until Monday morning to call Troy, owner of the shop. He's very quiet, especially on the phone, so we walked the 45 minutes to meet him in person. Once that happened, he started on the timing set replacement himself and pulled the oil pan for cleaning. His work was outstanding, and very reasonable considering how much time he spent. Unfortunately, the chain skipping so many teeth bent at least one valve, so I'm having to pull the cylinder heads myself and we were hauled 229 miles home yesterday by Berts Garage, Hillsville, VA. I'll follow up with Troy once I get everything fixed. I'd highly recommend his shop.Service: Engine repair”

“RIGHT FROM THE TIME I SPOKE TO THE OWNER AND NEEDED HELP BECAUSE MY DADS TRUCK HAD STOPPED RUNNING WHEN I HAD TO GO TO TOWN, AND I WAS ALREADY HAVING A ROUGH TIME ,TAKING CARE OF MY DISABLED MOM N MY DAD HAD BEEN HAVING HEALTH ISSUES SO I HAD BEEN RUNNING CRAZY, BUT THIS MAN ,TONY WAS NOTHING LESS THAN AMAZING FROM BEGINNING TO END WITH HELPING ME ON SOMETHING I HAD NO CLUES ABOUT HANDLING..HE DID THINGS OUT OF HIS WAY THAT HELPED SO MUCH, COMING TO MY HOUSE TO GET MY DADS TRUCK KEYS BECAUSE I HAD NO ONE TO SET WITH MY MOM TO TAKE TO HIM..STRAIGHT OUT AMAZING MAN !! EVEN MORE SO BECAUSE HIS SON HAD CALLED WHILE HE WAS GETTING KEYS AND THE WAY THEY TALKED..I ABSOLUTELY LOVED!! ??PUT ME SO MUCH IN MIND OF HOW FAMILY SHOULD BE AND THE SAME WAY I GREW UP WITH MY DAD N MOM..BUT ON TOP OF THAT, HIM N HIS "CREW" TOOK CARE OF MY DADS TRUCK GOT IT FIXED AND TO BE SUCH AN AWESOME PERSON I NEEDED THE CARING HE SHOWED 100%!! We got there just as they opened up for the morning and just needed a break from our travels on I81 Chase was helpful in suggesting a local joint for lunch ( 7 Dogs Brew Pub). Clean, well kept dealership right off the interstate - Just look for the black bear hanging from the H/D sign.”

“Absolutely incredible service! I blew my transmission pulling a heavy trailer over the mountains, and Josh was there for me right from the beginning. He arranged a tow, helped me find an affordable replacement transmission, checked my truck over for other possible problems and just generally made sure I was taken care of. He even gave me a few rides when I needed them. He went above and beyond at every turn all while keeping the job as affordable for me as possible. Besides the outstanding customer service, he’s definitely one of the most skilled and knowledgeable mechanics I’ve ever met. He really knows his stuff. There are very few mechanics like Josh left. “Fantastic work. After a front end collision my Volkswagen's front fender was crumpled up and just looked sad. Homer brought the car back to me looking like it had never even been hit! “Their shop is now located at 725 east main st., Wytheville, VA. My 2005 Corolla had a "check engine" light. I took the car into them and looked at the software program analyzing the warning. The program of course listed a half dozen possibilities. They had my car for several days. The car, typical of many manufacturers, had parts from several years. The technician had to look at several years of automotive information. Fortunately he was able to ultimately make an effective repair. I received a very reasonable repair bill which included a part. The part was not something that is readily available off the shelf at a store. I was very happy with the cost of the repair. It is a very pleasant surprise to find people who are not slamming people with high dollar repair bills. I truly expected, and was somewhat fearful, a monstrous repair charge. They are very conscientious people. One of them stated that they do not want to "rip people off." He continued with comments about treating people the right way. I will in the future certainly go back to them for automotive work. I have recommended them to several people.”
“We were pulling a trailer and broke down on 1-81 in Blacksburg, Virginia. I called the big Ford dealership in town and they wouldn't even look at it for two weeks. I called a tow truck who recommended Smokin Guns Performance 50 miles south. On arrival the owner, Aaron, immediately diagnosed the problem as an exploded fuel pump, common on the 6.7 diesel engine. We decided on installing a factory rebuilt motor. After a 3 month wait for the engine from Ford, I picked the truck up yesterday. It runs fantastically. Aaron is a true craftsman. He knows diesel inside out. I highly recommend Smokin Guns Performance and will definitely use them again if needed.”

“Dropped my car off on august the 28th 2023. The process started a little bumpy. Was informed that they were down several techs and short handed. Was told there would be more techs hired and would work to get the vehicle done by a set date as I had to leave to go out of town. Several phone calls not returned and multiple delays at first. Then i started speaking with a gentlemen named Chris. Chris introduced himself as the new manager and promised to have my car to me by said date. Chris went above and beyond to make sure that I was up to date on all the good and the bad. Once Chris was handed my file and took my phone call the service was absolutely amazing. He was very informative and had my vehicle returned by October 13. 2023. This does seem like quite some time, but given they were short staffed I feel as if they handled this like champs. Would definitely recommend you talk to Chris for all your body shop and repair needs. Hopefully I won’t have to return any time soon but if so, definitely look forward to working with Chris and the Bob huff team again.”

Even when there was a FOB mix-up in ordering (Intelligent key vs. standard fob), the resolution was on point and resolved immediately. Still keeping them at 5 Stars.”
